993: Chapter 992 9527 Life Planet

Suddenly, a voice somewhat similar to Li Wuji's, yet slightly cold, abruptly rang out!

Li Wuji seemed long accustomed to the situation before him; he merely nodded slightly, then shifted his gaze and spoke again.

"Then let's go check out this life planet ahead first!"

"Yes, planning the route!"

Before the words had even faded, a strange light suddenly rippled across the map Li Wuji had first taken out, and the patterns on it began to change continuously.

In the blink of an eye, the originally blurry map became clearly visible, finally displaying a yellowish-brown planet.

Beside this planet, its distance from the current location and the direction to reach it were also marked in detail.

Li Wuji merely cast a casual glance before turning the spaceship's direction and flying straight toward that planet.

After completing its task, the map seemed to be endowed with some mysterious power, automatically transforming into a simple yet exquisite jade pendant accessory and flying to Li Wuji's waist like a shooting star.

It settled there steadily, as if merging with Li Wuji's body, and then there was no further movement.

This magical item was actually something Li Wuji had specifically created to better explore the Universe.

He knew well that in the vast and boundless Universe, it was easy to lose one's way without a reliable navigation tool.

Thus, relying on his powerful imagination and creativity, he constructed such a navigation-like item.

Not only that, but Li Wuji also infused a portion of his Divine Soul along with all the memories of the Universe he had obtained from the Lord of Chaos into this item.

After such meticulous crafting, this originally ordinary map finally transformed into a magical existence possessed of artificial intelligence.

It could not only navigate but also record information; after all, the Universe was vast and complex, and having such a thing could save a lot of effort.

Meanwhile, a lively scene was unfolding on Life Planet 9527.

On a plain filled with rocky crags, there were numerous depressions of various sizes, each containing anywhere from several thousand to over ten thousand people.

They were wielding tools resembling pickaxes, striking the golden-yellow Ore beneath their feet over and over again.

Another group was packing the excavated Ore and transporting it upward.

"Hurry up! Do you want to die being this slow?"

Suddenly, a person dressed in black armor struck out, the long whip in his hand whistling through the air as it lashed toward an old man.

"Ah!"

With a cry of pain that was hoarse and weak, a bloody welt appeared directly on the back of the old man who had been helping to push a cart of Ore.

The force of this whip was so great that it knocked the old man directly to the ground.

"Useless trash, get up now! If you keep playing dead, I'll beat you to death!"

The man showed no mercy and was about to strike again immediately!

"Crack!"

The whip tore through the air and lashed down fiercely again, but this time, it did not land on the old man's withered body.

A figure suddenly lunged from the side, using his broad but similarly scarred back to take the blow squarely.

"Crack!"

The crisp and cruel sound of the lash echoed over the mine pit, making all the hard-working miners instinctively shrink their necks, yet none dared to pause their movements.

That was a young man; though long-term malnutrition and overwork had made him appear somewhat thin, his frame still showed signs of former strength.

He gritted his teeth, forcing back the groan of pain that rushed to his throat, his body only trembling violently as the skin on his back split open instantly, blood soaking through his tattered clothes.

"A-Mu!"

The old man let out a mournful cry, struggling to get up.

The youth known as A-Mu stood in front of the old man and looked up, his eyes burning with an irrepressible fire of rage as he stared directly at the black-armored Overseer.

"Uncle Wang is old and can't push anymore! I'll push this cart of Ore for him!"

His voice was hoarse from chronic dehydration and shouting, yet it carried an undeniable stubbornness.

The black-armored Overseer obviously hadn't expected anyone to dare stand up, let alone look at him with such eyes.

On Planet 9527, they were the Dominators, the gods of these "Mine Slaves," holding the power of life and death, and meeting no resistance.

After a brief moment of shock came a towering rage.

"You'll push it for him?"

The Overseer sneered, his laughter cold and cruel. "What kind of thing are you? You think you're worthy of negotiating with me?"

He sized A-Mu up as if looking at a bothersome bug.

"It's not negotiating,"

A-Mu gritted his teeth, trying to keep his voice steady. "I'm just stating a fact.

If you keep beating him, Uncle Wang will die. Losing a worker won't do you any good either."

"Good?"

The Overseer acted as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world. "How much are the lives of you two-legged Mine Slaves worth?

If one dies, there are thousands more!

I see you don't want to help him—you want to rebel!"

The word "rebel" was like a clap of thunder, exploding within the stifling mine pit.

All the Mine Slaves froze; fear, like tangible ice water, instantly drenched their already numbed hearts.

They stole glances at A-Mu out of the corners of their eyes, their gazes filled with terror, worry, and a faint, almost non-existent sliver of hope.

"I didn't..."

A-Mu tried to defend himself, knowing what those words implied.

But the Overseer gave him no chance.

"Contradicting an Overseer, intending to resist, and inciting a riot!"

The Overseer announced harshly, his sneer deepening with every word.

"Good! Very good! I was just worried about the lack of fun lately; I'll use you to make an example of!"

He waved his hand abruptly. "Men! Drag him to the Central High Platform for me!

Notify the slaves of all mining areas to assemble!

Today, I want all of you to see what happens when you resist!"

Several Black-Armored Guards, like wolves and tigers, immediately rushed forward and roughly dragged A-Mu up.

A-Mu struggled with all his might, but having long since exhausted his strength, how could he possibly match these well-equipped, well-fed guards?

Fists and rifle butts rained down on him, and he soon lost the ability to resist, being dragged away like a sack of rags.

The old man, Uncle Wang, cried out and tried to stop them, only to be kicked to the ground and knocked unconscious.

The news spread through the various mine pits like a plague.

Thousands of miners were driven like the walking dead to gather beneath the high platform built of massive stones in the center of the plain.

They were in rags, emaciated, and hollow-eyed, only showing a flicker of emotion when they saw A-Mu chained to a pillar on the high platform.

A faint ripple would flash in the depths of those hollow eyes—a fear born of shared fate and a deeply buried despair.

A-Mu was tied up tightly, with a leather strap gagging his mouth, allowing him only to make muffled whimpering sounds.

He struggled to straighten his spine; though covered in blood and in a wretched state, he still tried to maintain a final shred of dignity.
