1114: Chapter 1113 The Sacrifice of the Four Demons

The turbulent currents of the Void Realm howled as shattered Laws peeled away like dying stardust.

The final core area of the ancient battlefield was like a punctured bubble; its edges were being swallowed and assimilated by the external void darkness at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Luo Xiu knelt on one knee on a floating piece of scorched earth only a few dozen feet wide. His armor of gods and demons was in tatters, revealing a mangled chest beneath where scorched bone was visible.

At his heart, around the edges of a hole that pierced straight through him, lingered dark-gold destructive Law energy. Like maggots in bone, it prevented the wound from healing.

He gasped for air, each breath pulling at his internal organs, causing him to cough up dark-gold blood mixed with visceral fragments.

Inside his body, things were a mess due to the burning of essence blood and Divine Soul, and especially the final sacrifice of his Origin. His Meridians were like dried-up riverbeds, and his Divine Demon Dao Marks were covered in cracks, their light dimming.

That half-white hair spoke silently of an irreversible and terrifying price.

Dozens of feet away, the Spirit Emperor, also floating on a piece of shattered earth, was in an even more miserable state.

Its once-radiant dark-gold crystal body now consisted of only half a mangled torso and one arm; the rest had completely shattered, incinerated into nothingness by chaotic flames.

Within the dense cracks on its remaining body, tiny gray flames still leaped stubbornly, continuing to eat away at its final Origin.

The crown on its forehead had long since dissipated. Those golden eyes that once held majestic coldness were now dim and lifeless, filled with resentment, malice, and a trace of unbelievable terror.

Its aura had dropped to the edge of the Early Stage of the fifth rank and was still slowly leaking away as the gray flames burned.

It tried to mobilize the last remaining power of the battlefield's Laws, even if only to condense a tiny phantom of a weapon to deliver the final blow to the equally dying enemy opposite it.

But the God-Demon Flame that had invaded its body, combined with the fact that its core was almost completely shattered, meant it couldn't even lift its remaining arm. It could only fruitlessly emit raspy mental fluctuations like a broken bellows.

Luo Xiu also wanted to move.

He could feel the lingering threat of the Spirit Emperor and knew even better that this place was about to collapse completely; he had to leave as soon as possible.

But his body felt as if it were filled with billions of pounds of chaotic stubborn iron, so heavy it was beyond his control.

Every attempt to gather strength brought about even more violent backlash and agony within his body. His vision darkened in waves, and his Divine Soul was like a candle in the wind, liable to be extinguished at any moment.

He looked at the Spirit Emperor, his eyes cold with killing intent, but his body could not perform any effective action.

Both sides fell into a strange, deathbed stalemate, competing to see who could recover even a sliver of mobility first to deliver the fatal blow.

Just then—

"King!"

"Your Majesty!"

Four staggering, weak figures, filled with endless anxiety and determination, struggled through the increasingly violent turbulent currents and shattered Laws of the Void Realm to appear by Luo Xiu's side.

They were none other than the Four Demon Generals: Heaven Demon, Flame Demon, Blood Demon, and Sword Demon!

They were covered in blood and their auras were withered. The half-step fifth-rank aura they had briefly touched because Luo Xiu had bestowed essence blood upon them during their resurrection was now wavering.

Heaven Demon had lost most of his feathers and his demonic Soul was faint; Flame Demon's surrounding demonic flames were nearly extinguished, revealing charred skin; Blood Demon's blood energy was depleted and his body was shriveled; and the demonic sword in Sword Demon's hand was covered in cracks, nearly impossible to hold.

Clearly, they had paid an unimaginable price to break through the aftershocks of the battlefield's collapse and reach Luo Xiu.

But in their eyes, there wasn't a hint of concern for their own injuries, only heartbreaking pain at seeing Luo Xiu's tragic state!

"King! You..."

Sword Demon's voice was hoarse. Looking at the terrifying hole in Luo Xiu's chest and his white hair, tears actually flickered in the crimson eyes of this notoriously fierce demon general.

Luo Xiu struggled to move his eyes to look at them. A flicker of complexity passed through his gaze, which then turned stern.

"Go... this place... will perish... you... leave..."

He transmitted his commands intermittently through Divine Thought, each word costing him his remaining mental strength.

However, the Four Demon Generals glanced at each other, seeing the same resolve in each other's eyes.

"King, forgive us for... disobeying!"

Flame Demon let out a low growl and was the first to sit cross-legged.

Immediately after, Heaven Demon, Blood Demon, and Sword Demon sat down without hesitation, surrounding Luo Xiu in the center.

The pitiful amount of Devilish Qi remaining in their hands and around their bodies began to flow backward. Instead of erupting outward, it compressed and condensed inward frantically!

Within their bodies, the Divine Demon marks—which had been left behind when Luo Xiu resurrected them with essence blood and Divine Soul Origin and had long since merged perfectly with their own demonic Souls and bodies—were now being forcibly stripped and condensed as they burned their own Foundations and reversed their Origins!

"Buzz—!"

Four spheres of weak but incredibly pure light, containing Luo Xiu's unique Divine Demon aura, slowly emerged from their chests.

This radiance had a faint dark-gold tint. It was much thinner and more heterogeneous than Luo Xiu's own essence blood Origin, but at its deepest core, a power of the same source truly flowed!

This wasn't everything Luo Xiu had initially given them; the vast majority had already completely transformed into their new Foundations. What could be forcibly stripped now was merely that sliver of the most central, unmerged 'primer'.

The process of stripping it was agonizingly painful!

It was like tearing out a part of one's Soul!

The Four Demon Generals trembled violently. Their already faint demonic bodies became even more transparent, and their auras surged out like a floodgate being opened!

The half-step fifth-rank Realm they had briefly touched vanished completely, and their cultivation Realms plummeted all the way down.

Fourth rank... third rank... finally, at the moment the four spheres of Origin 'primers' were fully formed, their auras stabilized completely at the second-rank level. They were as weak as candles in the wind, countless times weaker than when they had first been resurrected!

"King... please... use..."

Sword Demon's voice was as faint as a mosquito's hum as he pushed the weak sphere of Origin 'primer' in front of him, along with his final sliver of Devilish Qi that stabilized his demonic body, toward Luo Xiu.

Flame Demon, Blood Demon, and Heaven Demon did the same.

The four spheres of weak Origin light were like four raindrops falling into a dried-up lake, sinking into the vicinity of the mangled wound on Luo Xiu's chest.

This 'nourishment' would have been insignificant to Luo Xiu during his Peak.

But for him now—exhausted, his internal power completely depleted, and his Origin nearly burned out—it was no different from rain after a long drought!

That same-source Divine Demon aura was instantly absorbed by the nearly instinctive fragments of Divine Demon Dao Marks within Luo Xiu's body.

While it couldn't repair the cracks in his Dao Foundation or replenish his vast vitality, it miraculously and temporarily stabilized the trend of his continuously leaking and worsening injuries!

The stubborn dark-gold destruction Law at his heart was slightly neutralized and hindered for a moment by this weak but same-source power.

More importantly, the injection of this power was like adding a handful of dry kindling to a fire about to go out, allowing Luo Xiu's nearly dormant Divine Soul to suddenly regain a sliver of clarity.
