1272: Chapter 1272 Absolute Strength
Feng Xiu looked at them, finally putting away the smile on his lips.
"Since the three of you insist on this..."
He raised his dark golden longsword, the tip pointing toward the three of them.
The golden light on the sword began to flow, growing brighter and more intense, until it eventually shone like a small sun, illuminating the entire Void Realm.
"Then Feng Xiu will no longer hold back."
He slashed out with his sword.
This strike was completely different from before.
There was no sword radiance, no Sword Qi, only a golden line extending from the sword tip, shooting straight toward the three.
The line was as thin as a hair, yet blindingly bright. Wherever it passed, the Void Realm was neatly sliced in two. The cuts were as smooth as a mirror, and not even space fragments were created—because there was simply no time for them to form.
Gu Li's pupils contracted sharply, and he instinctively dodged.
But the speed of the golden line was simply too fast. Even with all his might, he only managed to avoid a fatal blow. The line grazed his left shoulder, slicing through his soul armor as if it were made of paper, leaving a wound on his shoulder deep enough to see the bone.
The edges of the wound were mirror-smooth, and one could even see the neatly severed bone inside.
Ao Lie had a massive Dragon body, making it even harder to dodge.
He twisted his body desperately, but the golden line swept past his side, slicing off his left Dragon wing at the root.
The massive Dragon wing fell from the air, dissolving into specks of light before it even hit the ground. Ao Lie let out a painful Dragon roar, and Dragon blood rained down.
Mo Yuan was the most miserable of them all.
He had been charging at the very front, closest to the golden line.
Although he had forcibly twisted his body at the last moment, the golden line still grazed his side, slicing a huge gash across his entire right abdomen, revealing his internal organs.
Black blood gushed out, and Mo Yuan let out a miserable scream, his figure staggering backward.
One strike, and all three were severely injured.
Feng Xiu did not give them a chance to catch their breath.
He took a step forward, appearing in front of Gu Li, and swept his dark golden longsword horizontally.
Gu Li gritted his teeth and raised his arm to block, but his soul armor shattered under the sword edge, adding another wound to his arm.
Feng Xiu did not change his sword momentum; he used the force to turn and kicked Gu Li in the chest, sending him flying.
Immediately after, his figure vanished again, reappearing above Ao Lie's Dragon head.
He held the dark golden longsword in reverse, hilt facing down, and slammed it fiercely onto the top of Ao Lie's head.
With a dull thud, Ao Lie felt as if his skull were about to split. His massive Dragon body was slammed downward dozens of zhang, and golden stars danced before his Dragon eyes.
Feng Xiu landed on a remaining fragment of space, used the leverage to launch himself, and pounced straight at Mo Yuan.
Although severely injured, Mo Yuan's ferocity did not diminish. He balled his only remaining hand into a fist and smashed it toward Feng Xiu's face.
Feng Xiu tilted his head to dodge, then raised his longsword in an upward slash, the blade carving from under Mo Yuan's ribs to his shoulder, leaving a long bloodstain on his deep red skin.
Under Feng Xiu's storm-like offensive, the three were forced into a continuous retreat, completely unable to fight back.
Feng Xiu's swordsmanship had no frills, no superfluous movements.
Every strike was precise, lethal, and clean, like an art of slaughter honed through thousands of trials.
He did not pursue flashy Moves, nor did he pursue an overwhelming Aura; he only pursued one thing—using the least amount of effort to inflict the greatest damage.
This was a combat instinct honed through countless life-and-death battles, an experience that no amount of time spent to Cultivate could replace.
Gu Li became more and more alarmed as the fight went on.
He realized he could not see through Feng Xiu's sword path at all. Each of the opponent's strikes seemed to be swung casually, yet they were always able to precisely find the flaws in his defense.
Every one of the opponent's movements seemed casual, yet they always appeared in the most lethal position at the most opportune moment.
This did not feel like a battle; it felt more like playing a game of chess where the outcome was already known—and Feng Xiu was the one holding the chess pieces.
"Who exactly are you..."
Gu Li asked through gritted teeth, his voice filled with unwillingness and confusion, "When did such a powerhouse as you appear in the outside world..."
Feng Xiu did not answer.
He thrust his sword out, the tip pointing straight at Gu Li's throat.
Gu Li leaned back desperately, the tip of the sword grazing just above his Adam's apple, shaving off a thin layer of skin and flesh.
Blood seeped out, and Gu Li felt a chill on his throat, his heart nearly stopping—he was just an inch away, just an inch away from death.
Ao Lie pounced from the side, his Dragon claws slapping toward Feng Xiu.
Feng Xiu didn't even look, meeting the attack with a fist from his left hand.
Fist and claw collided with a dull thud. Ao Lie felt a massive force travel from his claw tips, his entire Dragon arm trembling, his body involuntarily flying backward.
He looked down and saw fine cracks appearing on the phalanges of his Dragon claws—a single punch had actually cracked the bones of the Dragon Clan.
Taking advantage of the gap while Feng Xiu was engaged with Ao Lie, Mo Yuan pounced from behind, his only remaining hand's fingers pressed together like a blade, stabbing straight for Feng Xiu's heart.
It was as if Feng Xiu had eyes in the back of his head; he tilted his body slightly, letting the strike pass, while simultaneously using his right hand to slash his longsword in a backhanded motion, the blade slicing under Mo Yuan's ribs and adding another new wound.
Mo Yuan felt the pain and his offensive stalled. Feng Xiu took the opportunity to kick him in the knee. Mo Yuan let out a muffled groan and knelt on one knee in the Void Realm.
In just a few dozen breaths, the three of them had been beaten to the point of being covered in wounds, with no power left to fight back.
Gu Li knelt half-way in the Void Realm, gasping heavily for air.
His soul armor had shattered for the most part, and he was covered in sword wounds, his robes stained red with blood.
Ao Lie had returned to human form and was slumped in the Void Realm. His Dragon scales were almost entirely shattered, his body bathed in blood, and he barely had the strength to open his eyes.
Mo Yuan lay in the Void Realm, his deep red skin covered in sword marks, black blood flowing like a river, his Aura so weak it was almost imperceptible.
Feng Xiu stood with his sword sheathed, gently turning the dark golden longsword in his hand, the golden light on the blade slowly fading away.
He looked down at the three of them, the faint smile reappearing on his lips, but this time, there was a trace of sincerity in that smile.
"Thank you for the match."
Gu Li struggled to lift his head, looking at Feng Xiu. His eyes were full of unwillingness, but also a trace of unhideable awe.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, he just sighed and closed his eyes.
"You won," he said, his voice hoarse and weary, "do with me as you please."
Feng Xiu shook his head and retracted the dark golden longsword into the Void Realm.
"I said, once I have taken the three of you down, it will not be too late to discuss things in detail."
He reached out, and three dark golden chains shot from his palm, binding the three of them tightly, "Now, it is time for you three to come with me."
Saying this, he turned around and, taking the three captives with him, stepped into the Void Realm and vanished into the vast darkness.
