246: Chapter 246 The King's Judgment
"A brute?" Chen Fan stood where he was, slapping the kraft paper file bag against Xiao Ye's face with a crisp smack. "You know nothing of true power."
Xiao Ye's head was knocked to the side. Gritting his teeth, he continued to hold his ground. "You dare hit me? I'm telling you, what happens here today will be on the front page of the international news tomorrow! I'll see you ruined!"
Chen Fan didn't respond. With a flick of his wrist, the seal of the kraft paper bag opened. He threw a thick stack of documents directly into Xiao Ye's face.
Black ink on white paper scattered across the ground. Several high-definition color photos were blown by the wind, sticking to the edge of Xiao Ye's leather shoes.
Xiao Ye looked down.
With just one glance, the curses he was about to spit out got stuck in his throat.
The photo showed a sedan submerged at the bottom of a river. Inside the car was a pale corpse. That was a competitor he had paid to have 'disposed of' three years ago in order to seize an overseas merger and acquisition project.
On the paper next to it, dense records detailed the flow of black money he had transferred through offshore accounts. Every single transaction was clear, even including the signatures of the handlers.
"You... how do you have these things?" Xiao Ye's lips turned pale. He had clearly ordered these pieces of evidence to be destroyed long ago, and even the hitman who carried out the task had died in an accident two months prior.
"You think those old-money conglomerates actually trust you?" Chen Fan looked at the papers on the ground. "You're nothing but a rabid dog. When a dog gets sick, the master won't even bother to bury it. These items were taken by my people from the top-secret servers of your European parent company, 'Temple Capital'."
Xiao Ye's legs went weak, and he slumped onto the concrete ground.
"I told you long ago, this isn't your sophisticated Europe." Chen Fan took a step forward. He raised his right foot and stepped directly onto Xiao Ye's chest.
The heavy sole of the tactical boot pressed down on Xiao Ye's ribs.
Xiao Ye couldn't breathe. He tried desperately to pry Chen Fan's leg off with both hands, only to find that the leg was as immovable as cast-in-place steel rebar.
"The citizenship and capital background you're so proud of can't save you now." Chen Fan looked down at him. "Three minutes ago, this ironclad evidence was simultaneously sent to Interpol and the security departments of seven European countries. Your masters behind the scenes have already struck your name from their records overnight."
Xiao Ye's eyes widened. The diplomatic immunity he took such pride in was nothing more than a scrap of waste paper in the face of this file bag. Suspected of multiple transnational murders and laundering hundreds of billions of dollars, no country would dare to protect him.
"You will be extradited," Chen Fan said, adding a bit more pressure with his foot. "To the harshest prison in the world. The hardened criminals there will teach you the rules of how to be a human. You will spend the rest of your life there, where even death will be a luxury."
Fear consumed Xiao Ye's nerves. He finally understood what kind of existence he had provoked. Chen Fan wasn't an opponent who played by business rules; he was a monster capable of uprooting his entire foundation.
"Mr. Chen! President Chen!" Xiao Ye's psychological defenses collapsed completely, tears and snot streaming down his face. He clung desperately to Chen Fan's trouser leg. "I was wrong! I shouldn't have targeted your family! I have money, I'll transfer all the money under my name to you! Please, I beg you, spare my life!"
The elite president who had just been dressed in a suit, constantly speaking of rules and capital, was now kowtowing on the ground like a mangy dog.
Chen Fan pulled his foot back.
He didn't give Xiao Ye a second glance, turning to walk toward the bulletproof SUV. The night wind caught the hem of his trench coat.
"Hand him over to the police," Chen Fan said as he pulled open the car door. "As for the rest, let it follow international judicial procedures."
Chen Haoyu nodded. "Yes, Boss."
Two Shadow Guard members stepped forward, hoisting the limp Xiao Ye by his arms and dragging him directly toward the transport vehicle with flashing police lights behind them. Xiao Ye's wails echoed across the empty tarmac until the car door slammed shut, cutting off the sound completely.
Inside the SUV, Chen Fan sat in the back row and rolled down the window.
The screen of the phone resting on the armrest box lit up. It was a call from Chen Muyang.
Chen Fan pressed the answer button.
"Dad, we've successfully absorbed Xiao Ye's 'Temple Capital'. But the situation has changed." Chen Muyang spoke rapidly, the background noise filled with the clatter of keyboards from the command room.
"Speak," Chen Fan said, watching the night scenery recede outside the window.
"Xiao Ye is behind bars, but those old European conglomerates behind him are getting desperate." Chen Muyang's voice carried a hint of anger. "Those old guys from the 'Knights Templar' have joined forces. They aren't facing us head-on in the financial markets; instead, they've bypassed them to hit the international commodities market."
Chen Fan tapped his finger twice on his knee.
"Ten minutes ago, the futures prices for international wheat, soybeans, and corn surged by forty percent. The price of rare metals has doubled. They are on a frantic buying spree, blocking our import quotas," Chen Muyang said. "They want to trigger domestic imported inflation through food and minerals to force us to submit. Grain prices in various regions have already begun to rise."
"They want to mess with our food supply?" Chen Fan picked up the phone.
"Dad, we need to keep our cash flow to guard against shocks in the secondary market. If we use it to fight for grain in the international market, we'll lose too much," Chen Muyang analyzed the situation.
"Notify the core family members. Meeting at the Courtyard House in half an hour," Chen Fan issued the command.
"Understood."
Hanging up the phone, Chen Fan looked at his reflection in the car window.
Those old guys in Europe were trying to pull the rug out from under him. They thought that by grabbing the throat of the food supply, they could make the Huihuang Group bow their heads.
Chen Fan picked up his phone and opened a hidden application interface.
"The trump card I've been nurturing for five years... it's time to reveal it," Chen Fan whispered.
When it came to food wars, the Chen Family had never flinched.
