77: Chapter 77 Sorry, my surname isn't Su!

Monday morning, Jiangcheng CBD.

The top floor of the Tiansheng Group headquarters building, Conference Room One.

The central air conditioning was blasting, with cold air whistling through the room, but it did nothing to dispel the suffocating heat and restlessness inside. The air was permeated with a faint scent of tobacco and expensive cologne, mixed together in a somewhat pungent blend.

Wang Tiansheng sat in the chairman's main seat, his knuckles white as he gripped a limited-edition fountain pen. He checked his watch from time to time, a fine layer of sweat beading on his forehead.

His right eyelid had been twitching incessantly lately. News had just come from the finance department that there was a slight "technical glitch" with the fund transfers in several overseas accounts. At such a critical juncture, Zhang Feng, the group's number two figure, had suddenly called for an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, pushing Wang Tiansheng's already strained nerves to the breaking point.

"Dad, just set your mind at ease."

Wang Hao, sitting beside him, looked impatient as he twirled his car keys. "Uncle Zhang is probably just trying to take advantage of the situation to get some benefits. As for that Su Muyang? Hah, a loser who has to rely on student loans just to pay his tuition—even if he won the lottery, he wouldn't be qualified to step through this door."

Wang Hao was dressed to the nines today, his hair slicked back until it shone. Thinking of the "nouveau riche" look Su Muyang had worn a few days ago made him gnash his teeth in hatred.

"Shut up!" Wang Tiansheng scolded in a low voice. "The business world is like a battlefield; caution is the parent of safety. The atmosphere today isn't right."

It certainly wasn't.

The long conference table was filled on both sides with the group's shareholders, both major and minor. In the past, whenever these people saw Wang Tiansheng, they would all be bowing and scraping with fawning smiles. But today, they were all keeping their heads down, drinking tea or pretending to look at their phones, their eyes wandering and occasionally glancing toward Vice Chairman Zhang Feng.

Zhang Feng sat on Wang Tiansheng's left, holding a purple clay teapot and sipping tea with an air of unshakeable composure. His face wore that unchanging Maitreya Buddha smile, making him impossible to read.

"Old Zhang." Wang Tiansheng couldn't hold back anymore and slammed his pen onto the table. "Everyone is here, so just say what you have to say. You've dragged everyone here early in the morning; if there's no serious business, you'll be the one footing the bill for this tea."

Zhang Feng set down the purple clay teapot and scanned the room with a smile. "Chairman Wang, don't be so impatient. There is still one important shareholder who hasn't arrived."

"An important shareholder?" Wang Hao scoffed. "Everyone who is anyone in Jiangcheng is already here. Who else could it be? Could it be the King of Heaven himself?"

Before the words left his mouth, Bang!

The heavy mahogany doors of the conference room were pushed open from the outside, emitting a dull, thunderous boom.

All eyes instantly focused on the doorway.

Six burly men in black suits and sunglasses filed in, splitting to stand on either side with an imposing aura. Immediately following them, a slender figure walked in with a steady, measured stride.

It was Chen Muyang.

He was wearing a well-tailored, dark gray bespoke suit, his hair meticulously groomed. His face, which had once looked slightly weary from long-term part-time work, was now sharp and defined, exuding a cold, noble air that made people afraid to look him in the eye.

Following behind him was the bodyguard captain known as "Canglong," who was carrying a black briefcase.

The entire conference room instantly became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Wang Hao froze for two seconds before slamming his hands on the table and standing up, his chair screeching harshly against the floor.

"Su Muyang!?"

Wang Hao pointed at the door, his eyes bulging out of his sockets, before bursting into wild laughter. "Holy shit! Are you fucking crazy? Did you walk onto the wrong set? This is the Tiansheng Group shareholders' meeting, not some poverty-student seminar at your school! Security! Where the hell is security? Throw this beggar out for me!"

Wang Tiansheng also furrowed his brows, his expression darkening. "Young man, this is not the place for you to act wild. For the sake of you and Hao being classmates, get out yourself. Don't make me call people to throw you out."

Chen Muyang didn't even lift an eyelid, directly ignoring the clamor of the father and son.

He walked straight to the main seat at the other end of the conference table—the position specifically reserved for major shareholders.

Canglong immediately stepped forward and pulled out the chair. Chen Muyang unbuttoned his suit jacket, sat down elegantly, crossed his legs, and folded his hands on the table. His posture was as if he were the king of this place.

"Chairman Wang, Young Master Wang."

Chen Muyang spoke, his voice not loud but carrying a metallic quality that echoed through the quiet conference room. "Let me introduce myself: I am here to attend the meeting."

"Attend the meeting? By what right?" Wang Hao roared in exasperation. "By your thick skin? Or by your delivery-driver father?"

Chen Muyang tilted his head slightly, giving Canglong a look.

Canglong opened the briefcase, took out a document, and tossed it directly onto the table, sliding it in front of Wang Hao.

"By this," Chen Muyang said calmly.

Wang Hao grabbed the document and flipped to the first page. He only took one look before he couldn't help but burst into laughter, bending over backward until tears were almost streaming down his face.

"Hahahaha! Dad, look at this! This idiot brought a fake contract to act like a big shot!"

Wang Hao held up the document, shaking it as if displaying a joke. "Share Transfer Agreement? 4.9%? Su Muyang, if you're going to forge something, at least put some effort into it! The name of the transferee written on this is 'Chen Muyang'! Have you forgotten your own surname? Trying to be Chen Shimei?"

A wave of whispering broke out in the conference room.

Wang Tiansheng also sneered. "This is utter nonsense. Holding such a piece of forged scrap paper, do you want to spend a few days in the police station?"

Facing the ridicule and questioning from the whole room, the expression on Chen Muyang's face did not fluctuate in the slightest.

He just lightly raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

"Clatter—"

Three small shareholders sitting at the end of the conference table suddenly stood up in unison.

These three people were usually fence-sitters in the company with no real presence. But at this moment, their faces were pale, yet they looked at Wang Tiansheng with unusual determination.

"Ch-Chairman Wang." One of the shareholders, who had a Mediterranean-style receding hairline, spoke with a tremble. "This contract is real. Our combined 4.9% stake has already been fully transferred to this... Mr. Chen Muyang, last Friday."

"What!?" The fountain pen in Wang Tiansheng's hand dropped onto the table with a "clack."

"We also signed," the other two shareholders said, keeping their heads down and not daring to meet Wang Tiansheng's murderous gaze. "The funds have already arrived in our accounts; the procedures are legal and compliant."

The smile on Wang Hao's face instantly froze, as if he had been slapped hard across the face. His complexion shifted between red and white—it was quite a spectacle.

"Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!" Wang Hao roared hysterically. "How could these old fogies sell their shares to you? And... and the name is wrong! The law won't recognize it!"

"The name?"

Chen Muyang stood up and leisurely straightened his cuffs.

He walked step by step toward the stunned Wang Hao. The powerful sense of oppression forced Wang Hao to shrink back subconsciously.

"Wang Hao, your information is too outdated."

Chen Muyang reached out and tapped Wang Hao twice on his face, which was twisted with anger and panic.

Slap. Slap.

The sound was crisp, and the insult was extreme.

"Formally notifying you, I have changed my surname."

Chen Muyang leaned down, moved close to Wang Hao's ear, and said word by word in a voice only the two of them could hear:

"I am now called Chen Muyang. The Chen of Huihuang Group, the Chen of Peak Capital. As for that 4.9%..."

He straightened his back, his gaze sweeping across the room before finally landing on the ashen-faced Wang Tiansheng, revealing a bloodthirsty smile.

"A single shareholding not exceeding 5% does not require a disclosure of interest. These are the rules of the game. Chairman Wang, you surely understand that, don't you?"

Wang Tiansheng felt a chill rush from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head, his heart feeling as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible giant hand.

He looked at the calm, composed young man before him, then at the expressions of the shareholders around him who were watching the show, and even Zhang Feng beside him, who was slowly sipping tea without the slightest hint of surprise.

A terrifying thought exploded in his mind.

This is a trap.

A death trap targeting the Wang family.

"Alright," Chen Muyang turned around, sat back in his chair with a commanding presence, his gaze sharp as a blade.

"Everyone is here. Now, in my capacity as a shareholder of Tiansheng Group, I announce that this show... is officially starting!"
