71: Big fish with meteorite
"Why is the inflatable boat leaking?"
"Did it hit something?"
Su Mianmian frowned, looking confused as she saw water constantly seeping into the bottom of the inflatable boat.
Shi Xu reached out and touched it; it wasn't rainwater, but accumulated water seeping in from below.
"I... I think I saw a big... big fish."
"Just... just over there."
Xu Huan was probably too shocked, his words stuttering.
Su Mianmian and Shi Xu looked in the direction he pointed, but found nothing.
Xu Huan scratched the back of his head, saying awkwardly, "As soon as you looked, it dived down."
Su Mianmian and Shi Xu exchanged glances, knowing he wouldn't lie to them.
They couldn't use this boat anymore, so Xu Qing struggled to steer it towards a place where they could get ashore.
He saw a rooftop and immediately headed for it.
At the same time, Xu Huan saw the big fish again.
It had a large mouth, and its teeth, reflecting the moonlight, were exceptionally sharp and dazzling.
Xu Huan couldn't speak; he reached out and pulled Shi Xu, who turned his head to look. He quickly pulled Xu Qing aside and took the helm himself.
He drove very fast, but the damaged boat somewhat hindered his operation.
Xu Qing was a little confused at first, but when he saw the big fish, he couldn't help but be startled.
How did this fish grow so big?
Su Mianmian looked at the fish, her eyes full of confusion.
Isn't this a sea fish?
How did it get here?
The water here has no salt; what is it living on?
Su Mianmian's mind was full of questions.
Suddenly, she saw a stone stuck in its tail and immediately understood the reason.
"The stone on its tail is a meteorite fragment; it can provide energy for it."
"We need to get that meteorite."
Su Mianmian said with a serious expression.
The others heard her and all looked towards the big fish's tail.
As if realizing their intentions, it flicked its tail, creating a large wave.
Su Mianmian held tightly to the boat, enduring the painful impact of the waves, gritting her teeth and refusing to let go.
Once they fell into the water, no one knew what would happen.
Shi Xu turned his head and saw the big fish getting closer, becoming calmer in his heart.
Just as the big fish was about to catch up, Shi Xu drove the boat onto the rooftop.
The feeling of acceleration was very unpleasant; Su Mianmian almost threw up.
When they got off the boat, everyone's legs were shaking except for Shi Xu.
"My goodness, Boss, when did you become so good at driving a boat?"
"You actually drove it directly onto the rooftop."
"So amazing!"
Xu Qing retched a few times, then, looking at the unaffected Shi Xu, he suppressed his nausea and praised him with admiration.
Su Mianmian didn't vomit, but her expression clearly showed she was very uncomfortable.
"Mianmian, it was an emergency. Are you alright?"
Shi Xu walked over to Su Mianmian and handed her a bottle of spirit spring water.
Su Mianmian took it and gulped down a few mouthfuls, feeling much better.
The others, seeing the spirit spring water, spontaneously came to Shi Xu's side.
Shi Xu showed no favoritism, giving everyone a bottle of spirit spring water.
After Su Mianmian recovered, she went to the edge.
Looking down, she saw the fish was still there.
Perhaps it was attracted by the scent of the spirit spring water, as its expression, looking at her, was full of longing.
They were now about two meters above the water.
Su Mianmian really wanted to give Shi Xu a thumbs up; he was amazing, driving the boat right up here.
Although they had experienced a bumpy ride, at least they were alive.
Su Mianmian didn't dwell on it too much.
"Why does it keep pestering us?"
"I'm so fed up!"
Xu Huan complained, looking at the big fish below.
It circled the house they were on, showing no signs of leaving.
Xu Huan was a bit annoyed; would they be trapped here forever?
At this moment, the rain gradually intensified, and at the same time, the wind speed slowly increased.
If Su Mianmian hadn't had good balance, she would have been afraid of being blown away by the strong wind.
"Mianmian, hold onto me."
"Don't let go."
Shi Xu suddenly came to Su Mianmian's side and urged her.
Su Mianmian grabbed Shi Xu without thinking, and just as she tightened her grip, a strong gust of wind immediately followed.
She was blown so hard she couldn't open her eyes; now, Shi Xu was her source of security.
After more than ten minutes, the strong wind finally subsided.
Su Mianmian opened her eyes and saw that the others were huddled together, shielding themselves from the wind.
They stood in front of her and Shi Xu, helping to block some of the strong wind for them.
"Mianmian, are you alright?"
Su Jinxuan couldn't see Su Mianmian's expression; he walked to her side, looking worried.
Su Mianmian shook her head. That wind was really too strong; fortunately, they and Shi Xu were there, otherwise, she would definitely have been blown away.
"I don't know where this strange wind came from."
"Look, the fish is gone!"
Xu Huan mumbled to himself as he walked to the wall and looked down. He had expected to see the snarling big fish, but there was no movement on the water except for the ripples from the raindrops.
Su Mianmian and the others came to his side and looked down; indeed, as he said, there was nothing.
"Where did it go?"
"Could it have been blown away by the strong wind?"
Xu Huan raised his hand to cup his chin, pondered for a moment, then turned his head, looking confused.
Su Mianmian shook her head; she thought it was unlikely.
They hadn't been blown away on the surface, so how could it be blown away in the water?
Unless there was an underwater vortex that sucked it in and carried it to another place.
But how big and strong would such a vortex need to be to carry it away?
Su Mianmian thought it unlikely; the most probable explanation was that it was hiding.
"I think it might be trying to make us lower our guard."
"I don't really believe it's truly gone."
Su Mianmian shook her head, her expression serious.
Shi Xu nodded; he clearly agreed with Su Mianmian's idea.
The big fish was in the shadows, and they were in the open.
This situation was a bit tricky.
"What can we do to lure it out?" Su Mianmian murmured to herself.
Suddenly, she had an idea.
The big fish was clearly interested in the spirit spring water earlier, so why not use the spirit spring water to lure it out?
Su Mianmian stated her idea, which received unanimous approval.
She took out a bottle of diluted spirit spring water from her space and poured it onto the water's surface.
Silence, profound silence.
Su Mianmian and the others stared intently at the water, afraid of missing even the slightest movement.
After dozens of seconds, there was still no movement on the water.
Just as Su Mianmian was starting to waver, it leaped up and attacked them.
Su Mianmian and the others were pushed back uncontrollably by the splashes it created.
Shi Xu grabbed Su Mianmian to prevent her from falling.
Su Mianmian gave him a grateful look.
The two of them didn't exchange many words, simultaneously looking at the continually leaping big fish.
"Is it trying to use this water to wash us into the water?"
Xu Huan raised his hand to wipe the water from his face, saying unhappily.
Su Mianmian nodded and hummed in agreement.
Isn't that exactly what it was thinking?
Too bad, they weren't the type to sit idly by.
"Later, I'll use my vines to control it, buying you time."
"You all work together: someone pull out the meteorite from its tail, and someone attack it to distract its attention."
Su Mianmian said with a serious expression.
Shi Xu thought her idea was feasible. He immediately arranged for Xu Huan and Xu Qing to pull out the meteorite from the big fish's tail.
He, meanwhile, would use his mental power to control it and prevent it from moving.
Su Jinxuan, seeing that he wasn't assigned a task, asked in confusion, "Do I not have to do anything?"
Su Mianmian heard him ask that and said amusedly, "Brother, are you trying to electrocute them?"
Did he forget what his ability was?
If he used his ability, wouldn't Xu Qing and Xu Huan be in trouble?
Su Mianmian's face was full of smiles.
