127: Bai Lingyue offers a plan to capture the Flame Demon's lair!
Bai Lingyue nodded slightly, her tone certain: "Yes."
"A direct assault is the worst option. Those Fire Demons seem to have an extremely strong reliance on fire crystal stone."
"Your subordinate is thinking, can we use this point to try and lure them out of their lair and defeat them one by one?"
"Or, see if there's a way to weaken their home-field advantage."
Her eyes sparkled, clearly indicating that she already had several preliminary strategies in mind.
"Hmm, luring the snake out of its hole, or changing the battlefield environment…" Mo Yan mused, "That is a good idea."
"What are your ideas for the specific plan?"
Just then, Gun Gun, who had been burying his head in his food, suddenly lifted his small head.
His mouth was still stained with obsidian fragments as he seriously looked back and forth between Mo Yan and Bai Lingyue.
"Gulu? Mo Yan, Bai JieJie, what are you talking about?"
The little guy sensed the atmosphere had become serious and even stopped his eating.
"Are there more delicious stones? Are they more delicious than this black stone?"
He pointed his small paw at the obsidian vein beneath him, his face full of anticipation.
Mo Yan was amused by him and walked over to rub his fluffy head.
"Little glutton, all you know is eating."
"You don't like to eat the stones over there, and those stones aren't easy to get; there are bad guys guarding them."
When Gun Gun heard about bad guys, he immediately perked up, puffing out his small chest.
"Gun Gun isn't afraid of bad guys! Gun Gun will help you fight them!"
He waved his chubby little paws, looking as if he was about to display his Divine Might.
Bai Lingyue watched the interaction between the man and the bear, the smile in her eyes deepening.
She continued softly: "My Lord, regarding the strategy for the Fire Crystal Stone Vein, your subordinate has several plans."
"First, we can try to set up some attribute Formations around the outside of the cave to change the environment near the cave entrance."
"Once the temperature drops, it will weaken the Fire Demons' combat power and also make it easier for our personnel to enter."
"Second, we can use a small amount of high-quality fire-attribute Materials as bait to try and lure out a portion of the Fire Demons, then defeat them one by one."
"For example, fire-attribute crystal stones or Materials of rare quality or above."
Mo Yan listened to Bai Lingyue's analysis.
"Changing the environment and setting up Formations, while time-consuming, can fundamentally weaken the Fire Demons' advantage and is safer."
"Luring and killing, on the other hand, tests our execution more, but the efficiency might be higher."
Bai Lingyue's beautiful eyes sparkled: "My Lord, which one do you prefer?"
Mo Yan's lips curved upward, his tone relaxed: "Only children make choices; why can't we combine both?"
Bai Lingyue's eyes flashed with surprise upon hearing this, then transformed into a knowing smile.
"My Lord is wise."
"Combining both is indeed the best strategy. It can both weaken the Fire Demons' overall strength and resolve them in batches, reducing risk."
Gun Gun listened, completely bewildered. He tilted his fluffy little head, looking at Mo Yan, then at Bai Lingyue, his big eyes full of confusion.
"Gulu? Combine? Does that mean we're going to tie the stones and the bad guys together to fight?"
The little guy's innocent words eased the tense atmosphere considerably.
Mo Yan was amused by Gun Gun's adorable appearance.
"It's roughly that meaning, but we'll use a clever method to lure those bad guys out one by one to teach them a lesson."
He turned to look at Bai Lingyue, his expression becoming serious: "What are your ideas for the specific execution plan?"
"Regarding the Formation, what Materials do we need?"
"To set up a Formation that weakens the fire-attribute environment, we mainly need water-attribute or ice-attribute Materials." Bai Lingyue already had a plan in mind.
"Ice-attribute Materials…"
He recalled that he had exchanged some ice source stone at the Alliance earlier.
Those ice source stone were of good quality and had been stored in his talent space. He hadn't expected them to be useful so soon.
With a thought, Mo Yan flipped his palm, and a dozen crystal stones emitting a chilling cold appeared in his hand.
Each one was about the size of a baby's fist, ice-blue throughout, crystal clear, with wisps of cold mist swirling around them, clearing the surrounding hot air.
"These are rare quality ice source stone, fifteen in total." Mo Yan handed the ice source stone to Bai Lingyue, "Do you think these are enough to set up the Formation?"
Bai Lingyue took the ice source stone; they were cool to the touch.
She examined them carefully, sensing the pure ice-attribute energy contained within.
"Enough."
"These ice source stone are of excellent quality and abundant in energy, sufficient to set up a small Xuanbing Array at the cave entrance."
"Once this Formation is activated," Bai Lingyue continued to explain, "it will not only significantly lower the temperature of the entrance area, forming a low-temperature Domain, but also effectively suppress the fire element in this place. When these Fire Demons operate within the range of the Xuanbing Array, their strength will be weakened by at least twenty percent."
"And the ice-cold Qi naturally restrains them; they will undoubtedly become restless and easier to lure out!"
Mo Yan nodded in satisfaction after listening: "Being able to weaken their strength by twenty percent is already quite significant."
"I'll leave the Formation matters to you."
His gaze swept over the mountains of obsidian piled up inside the mine.
"As for the bait." Mo Yan's lips curved slightly upward, "We'll use the abundant obsidian here as bait, how does that sound?"
"Use obsidian?" Bai Lingyue was slightly stunned, then immediately understood Mo Yan's intention.
The obsidian vein was right here, inexhaustible, truly the most convenient bait.
Moreover, quantitative change leads to qualitative change; a large amount of rare obsidian piled up would emit energy fluctuations sufficient to attract the covetousness of the Fire Demons.
"My Lord is wise. Since the plan is set, without further ado, your subordinate will immediately go select suitable Formation nodes and begin setting up the Xuanbing Array. The preparation of the bait will also take some time."
Mo Yan continued to ask: "Spiritual Moon, how long do you estimate it will take to complete the Formation setup and bait preparation?"
Bai Lingyue pondered for a moment, then replied: "The setup of the Xuanbing Array is not complicated. With these high-quality ice source stone as the Formation eyes, it should be completed in about half an hour."
"Good." A hint of anticipation flashed in Mo Yan's eyes, "By then, we can begin luring those Fire Demons."
"Then you start preparing immediately; I'll handle the obsidian transportation."
"Understood." Bai Lingyue responded, carefully putting away the ice source stone.
She said no more and set off towards the Fire Demon's lair to find the best Formation nodes.
Mo Yan, meanwhile, called over a nearby Soldier and commanded in a deep voice: "Immediately send word to Zhang Hu, tell him to select elites and rush to the outside of the Fire Demon's lair to await orders. They are not to act without my or Commander Bai's command."
"Yes, My Lord!" The Soldier acknowledged the order and quickly ran towards the passage.
Mo Yan watched the departing Soldier's back, his gaze returning to Gun Gun, who was staring at him expectantly.
"Gulu? Mo Yan, when are we going to fight the bad guys?" Gun Gun shook his small head.
He was always enthusiastic about fighting bad guys, completely unaware that he was about to face a group of Elite Fire Demons.
