258: The birth of the Son of God?

“No…I absolutely forbid it!”

“I absolutely forbid you from destroying my Lord’s plan!”

Marcus’s eyes burned with a final madness.

He no longer retreated; instead, he charged towards the altar, spreading his arms, and using his withered body to block in front of the fleshy cocoon.

“Even if I die, I’ll take you down with me!”

His entire body rapidly inflated like a balloon, countless black-purple blood vessels surfaced on his skin, and a violent energy capable of destroying the world brewed within him.

He was going to self-detonate!

The self-detonation of an LV8 expert, at the cost of his own Soul and all his power, had enough destructive force to level the entire Holy Temple, or even half of Deegenha City!

“Your Highness, be careful!” Bai Lingyue’s face changed dramatically in the distance.

However, just as Marcus was about to detonate himself.

An anomaly suddenly occurred!

The giant fleshy cocoon that had been quietly suspended above the altar suddenly trembled violently.

A crack appeared on the fleshy cocoon.

Immediately after, a pale white claw, covered in mucus and blood, stretched out from within, grabbing Marcus who was blocking in front!

The claw that extended from the crack in the fleshy cocoon had five long and sharp nails.

It easily grabbed Marcus, who was about to self-detonate, like an eagle snatching a chick.

“Uh…”

The violent energy that was about to erupt within Marcus instantly fizzled out, like a punctured balloon.

He was lifted into mid-air, his face filled with shock and bewilderment.

“Saint…Saint Your Highness?”

Shouldn’t Saint Your Highness thank him for his loyalty, then descend upon the world, and usher in the great Undead Kingdom?

Why…would he attack him?

Soon, the entire fleshy cocoon split into pieces like a shattered eggshell.

Thick, foul-smelling dark red liquid poured down from the air, like a rain of blood.

A massive and distorted figure finally revealed itself before everyone.

That was not a “Saint” at all, but a complete and utter deformed monster!

It was over five meters tall, with a bizarre humanoid shape.

Half of its skin was the tender pink of a newborn, while the other half was the decaying gray of a corpse.

Countless bones and flesh tissues were haphazardly pieced and embedded onto its body, and several faces of deceased Church Cardinals could still be seen.

It had no facial features, only a giant mouth filled with sharp teeth, split to its ears.

In the position where its heart should be, there was a black crystal formed by plague energy and vengeful Souls, supplying it with energy.

The most bizarre thing was that on its back, there was a pair of tattered wings that should have belonged to an angel.

But at this moment, the wings were covered in blood and pus, emanating an aura of corruption completely opposite to holiness.

“Roar—!!!”

The monster opened its huge mouth and let out a savage roar.

The terrifying sound waves transformed into a substantial impact, making the entire Holy Temple hum, and dust fell from the dome.

The Undead Soldiers who were still entangled with Bai Lingyue and Gun Gun, upon hearing this roar, had the Soul fire in their eyes instantly extinguish, and they collapsed uniformly, turning into a pile of useless bones.

“This…what is this thing…” Bai Lingyue looked at the monster, her pretty face for the first time showing a mix of solemnity and disgust.

The energy fluctuations emanating from this thing had far exceeded the LV8 range, infinitely approaching LV9!

But its aura was very chaotic, violent, insane, and full of the desire to destroy everything.

“Just a defective product prematurely born.” Mo Yan’s expression remained unchanged, “It doesn’t even have a complete consciousness, just an empty shell and a mess of power.”

“Saint Your Highness…You…how could you…”

Marcus, held in mid-air by the monster, was dumbfounded.

The scene before him shattered his faith of thousands of years.

This was the “God” he had sacrificed everything for and anticipated for a millennium?

A monster with no self-awareness, only knowing how to destroy?

“No…this isn’t true…this isn’t my Lord’s plan…” He muttered to himself, his mind already on the verge of collapse.

The monster heard his voice, and its faceless head mechanically turned towards him.

Then, under Marcus’s horrified gaze, the claw gripping him suddenly tightened!

Pfft!

Marcus, the Archbishop of the Light Church, the thousand-year mastermind behind the Diens Empire, was like a squeezed tomato, turning into a pulp of flesh and blood.

Until his death, he never imagined that he wouldn’t die at the hands of his enemies, but would be crushed by the “God” he had personally created.

This was perhaps the greatest irony of his life.

“Bad guy…” Gun Gun saw this scene, and quickly buried her head in Mo Yan’s trouser leg, not daring to look again.

Too disgusting!

After crushing Marcus, the monster casually flung away the mass of flesh and blood.

It turned its empty face towards the only three living beings remaining in the Holy Temple.

Roar!

With another roar, its corrupted wings on its back violently flapped, and it charged directly towards Mo Yan!

“Your Highness!” Bai Lingyue exclaimed, about to step forward.

“See if you can find a way to destroy the altar.” Mo Yan calmly instructed, “This toy, leave it to me.”

Before his words faded, his figure had already rushed towards the monster.

Star Stepping Art!

His movement technique was erratic, dodging and shifting between the monster’s giant fists and sharp claws like a butterfly flitting among flowers, appearing at ease.

The monster’s attacks were powerful and heavy; each punch that struck the ground could create a crater several meters deep, but it couldn’t even touch Mo Yan’s clothes.

“Fast enough, strong enough.”

“Too bad, no brains.”

While dodging, Mo Yan calmly analyzed his opponent.

This monster was like an infant with world-destroying power, only attacking wildly based on instinct, without any strategy.

And this was its biggest flaw!

After once again dodging the monster’s sweeping claw, Mo Yan’s figure suddenly appeared behind and to the side of the monster.

The longsword in his hand let out a clear sword cry.

Sword Intent, rising!

“Slash!”

A condensed Sword Qi, like lightning tearing through the night, struck the monster!

The Sword Qi cut in without hindrance, directly severing the monster’s entire left leg!

“Roar—!”

The monster let out a painful roar, its body losing balance, and it knelt on one knee.

With one successful strike, Mo Yan did not hesitate, and his figure disappeared again.

“Well done, Your Highness!” Bai Lingyue’s eyes lit up when she saw this scene.

She immediately understood Mo Yan’s tactic.

Guerrilla warfare!

Using speed and skill, continuously attack the monster, dismantling it little by little!

“Gun Gun, let’s not be idle either!” Bai Lingyue said to Gun Gun, “Do you see that glowing altar?”

“Let’s smash it!”

“Smash…smash things?” Gun Gun’s eyes immediately lit up upon hearing this.

She loved causing destruction the most!

“Good! Let’s smash that stinky thing!”

One person and one bear bypassed the battlefield and rushed towards the bone altar that was still emitting evil Qi.

Meanwhile, the monster, having lost a leg, was completely enraged.

The black crystal in its chest glowed brightly!

It suddenly opened its mouth, and a torrent of dark green energy, a mix of plague and corrupted Holy Light, sprayed out like a high-pressure water gun towards Mo Yan’s direction!

Wherever this energy torrent passed, a deep gully was corroded into the ground.

Mo Yan’s eyes narrowed; he could feel that the power of this attack was enough to instantly kill any LV8 expert.

But he still chose not to confront it head-on.

His figure disappeared again the moment the energy torrent was about to touch him, reappearing above the monster’s head.

“Your attacks are too slow.”

The monster sensed the danger above its head and tried to look up, but its movements, in Mo Yan’s eyes, were as slow as a tortoise.

The longsword in Mo Yan’s hand was aimed at the back of the monster’s neck.

Just as he was about to strike.

The monster’s deformed head suddenly rotated one hundred and eighty degrees, and a single crimson eye cracked open on its faceless face!

That eye was filled with madness, malevolence, and…a cold, superior will that did not belong to this monster!

A suffocatingly powerful mental shock erupted from that single eye, crashing into Mo Yan’s mind!

“It’s that Undead Lord!” Mo Yan’s heart tightened.
