237: Legacy of Empire
The greatsword, wrapped in golden flames, pierced the Titan Golem’s chest.
The next second, the sun rune on the surface of the core lit up fiercely, then shattered inch by inch.
A torrent of violent energy gushed out from the Golem’s chest, sending Mo Yan flying.
He rolled in mid-air and landed steadily.
The Titan Golem in front of him froze in place, the light on its body rapidly dimming.
“Prompt: You have successfully defeated the Titan Golem (LV10 • Boss)!”
“You have gained personal points +5000.”
The battle ended, and the five-meter-tall Titan Golem, like a toy that had lost power, maintained its last attacking posture, motionless.
The huge hole in its chest was still emitting wisps of black smoke.
“Cough cough…”
Gun Gun stumbled to his feet, spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, and his small face was full of grievances.
He picked up the bamboo that had fallen beside him, hugged it like a Treasure Trove, and limped to Mo Yan’s feet, rubbing his head against his pant leg.
“Mo Yan, Gun Gun did it.”
“Mm, you’re the best.” Mo Yan smiled and patted his head, taking out a piece of obsidian from his Talent Space and handing it to him.
Gun Gun’s eyes lit up, and he gnawed on the Ore with a “crunch, crunch” sound, his injuries rapidly recovering as the metallic energy replenished him.
On the other side, the Soldiers struggled to stand up, looking at the terrifying, motionless Golem, then at their unharmed Lord, their faces filled with shame and unwillingness.
A Shield Soldier Captain slammed his fist on the ground, gritting his teeth, “What a disgrace! We could only watch! After we go back, training intensity will be doubled!”
Mo Yan ignored everyone’s gazes. He walked straight to the Titan Golem, extended his hand, and activated his Talent.
“Value Insight.”
A panel, visible only to him, appeared on the Golem’s body.
“Titan Golem (Core Missing)”
Quality: Epic
Type: Alchemical Golem
Current State: Damaged (Energy core has been destroyed, cannot be driven)
Repair Conditions:
1. Energy marrow of Epic quality or higher x10
2. Alchemist Grandmaster x1
Introduction: A Golem created by the first Emperor of the Diens Empire using ancient alchemy and magic, possessing indestructible defense and destructive power, one of the highest masterpieces of ancient alchemy.
“It only takes ten marrow crystals to repair?”
For Mo Yan, these were minor issues.
“Collect!”
He waved his right hand.
After doing all this, Mo Yan’s gaze turned to the closed obsidian gate behind the Golem.
That was the true Empire Treasure Trove.
“Let’s go, let’s see the last Legacy of the Diens Empire.”
Idora took a deep breath and nodded.
She held the Sun Scepter and walked at the forefront.
As she approached, countless ancient golden runes on the heavy gate lit up one by one, as if welcoming their true master.
The gate slowly opened inward.
The sight behind the door made everyone hold their breath.
This was a space even wider than the hall outside.
There was no imagined splendor; it was more like a huge library and Warehouse.
On the left side, there were rows of huge bookshelves reaching the ceiling, densely packed with various thick books and scrolls, roughly estimated to be at least hundreds of thousands of volumes.
On the right side, hundreds of huge wooden chests were stacked.
Several of these chests had already decayed, revealing mountains of gold coins, sparkling gems of various colors, and various rare metal Ores piled inside.
And in the deepest part of the entire space, in the center, there was a high platform made of white jade.
In the display cabinet on the high platform, hundreds of sets of golden armor, as if forged from a melted sun, and a beautifully styled knight’s spear with a glowing spearhead, were quietly displayed.
They seemed to possess life; even from a distance, one could feel the surging power contained within them.
“This is…”
Idora’s body trembled slightly; her Awakened Bloodline memory told her the origin of these items.
“It’s the Holy Armor and Holy Spear of the Empire’s strongest legion, the Sun Knight Order!”
She murmured to herself.
The Sun Knight Order, directly subordinate to the Emperor, was the sharpest sword and the strongest shield of the Diens Empire.
In the Empire’s Epic, they were invincible.
Unfortunately, in the final disaster that swept across the entire nation, this legendary legion, along with the Empire, was annihilated in the long river of history.
Mo Yan walked over, his gaze also attracted by the armor set and the spear.
He activated Value Insight.
“Legacy of the Sun Knight (Set)”
Quality: Legendary
Components: Sun Holy Armor, Sun Holy Spear
Set Effect (2/2):
1. Sun’s Courage: Wearer’s all attributes +20%, gains “Intermediate Holy Light Resistance.”
2. Knight’s Glory: Can cast combined combat skill “Radiant Charge.”
Wearing Requirements: LV10, profession “Paladin” or possesses “Light” attribute Bloodline.
“Hundreds of sets of Legendary-grade equipment!” Mo Yan’s eyes lit up.
These attributes were ridiculously strong.
Unfortunately, the wearing requirements were too strict.
He looked at Idora: “Can you wear them?”
Idora shook her head, a hint of disappointment on her face: “Although I have Awakened the royal Bloodline, my power attribute leans towards support and purification, and does not meet the requirements of a Paladin.”
“That’s truly a pity.”
While he said it was a pity, he was calculating in his heart.
Taking these out would definitely fetch an exorbitant price.
Or I could exchange them with the official government for resources needed for my Cultivation System.
Presumably, they wouldn’t refuse.
His gaze moved away from the armor, and he noticed a few yellowed blueprints beneath the display cabinet.
He picked them up and examined them one by one.
“Sun Knight Holy Temple Construction Blueprint”
Quality: Unique
Type: Special Building Blueprint
Effect: Can be built in the territory, the Sun Knight Holy Temple. After the Holy Temple is built, residents with Knight Talent can be reclassified as a special unit “Sun Knight Apprentice.”
“Warning: Your territory is a “Martial Arts” System, which has a serious conflict with the “Holy Light” System of this blueprint, and cannot be built!”
“Sun Knight Standard Equipment Forging Blueprint (Full Set)”
Quality: Rare
Type: Forging Blueprint
Effect: After mastering, the full set of “Sun Knight Standard Equipment” can be forged in the blacksmith shop.
Requirements: Great Master Blacksmith x1, Light Magic Crystal x10, Sunstone x50…
“Unique Building Blueprint!”
Mo Yan’s breathing quickened instantly.
This was something even more precious than Legendary-grade equipment!
Special unit buildings were treasures that all Lords dreamed of!
But the subsequent System warning poured a bucket of cold water on him.
System conflict, unable to build?
His territory, from the very beginning, followed the path of Martial Arts, and both its architectural style and power System were incompatible with this Western fantasy style.
The System’s judgment of incompatibility was reasonable.
The wild joy on Mo Yan’s face instantly froze, and his pupils contracted sharply.
“What’s wrong, Lord?” Idora asked with concern when she saw his expression.
“Nothing, just a bit of a shame.”
Mo Yan put away the blueprints, temporarily pushing this annoyance to the back of his mind.
He turned his gaze to the vast expanse of bookshelves.
Compared to these pieces of equipment and blueprints, these books, which recorded thousands of years of the Diens Empire’s civilization and knowledge, were the most precious Treasure Trove here.
