245: Just because you can't do it doesn't mean I can't do it.

Mo Yan simply listened quietly, the expression on his face unchanging.

“Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean I can’t.”

Everyone’s gaze focused on Mo Yan.

After a while, the crowd still hadn’t recovered.

“You lead the way, and I’ll solve the problem,” Mo Yan broke the silence, offering no further explanation.

He turned, his gaze falling on Idora, and handed her several bags of crystal stones: “Idora, I’m leaving this place to you for now. Your task is to work with General Loris to transfer all non-combat personnel, especially the elderly and children, to the library first.”

“Yes, Sir!” Idora nodded heavily, taking the heavy beast-hide bags.

“General Loris,” Mo Yan then looked at the old general, “select your most elite Soldiers, distribute weapons, maintain order, and prepare for battle. I don’t want any chaos.”

General Loris straightened his body and gave a solemn Empire military salute: “At your command, Sir!”

“Bark,” Mo Yan’s gaze finally fell on the scar-faced man, “you, and two of your subordinates who are most familiar with the terrain, come with me.”

“Yes!”

Just as they were about to set off, Mo Yan seemed to remember something and suddenly stopped.

He glanced at the Soldiers behind General Loris; most of their longswords were rusty, their leather armor was worn out, and many didn’t even have proper weapons, only sharpened wooden sticks and iron pipes.

“Wait,” Mo Yan said.

Loris and Bark were both stunned.

Under everyone’s puzzled gaze, Mo Yan simply waved his hand casually.

Clatter—

A small mountain of resources piled up on the square.

Thousands of brand new longswords;

Sturdy chainmail and breastplates, stacked together;

And bags, bulging and emitting an enticing aroma of dried meat, the powerful scent instantly assailing everyone’s nostrils, stirring their long-dormant appetites.

There were also several large boxes neatly stacked with healing potions and bandages.

Everyone’s eyes widened, staring in disbelief at the small mountain of weapons and food before them.

“Is there food?”

Gun Gun tilted its head, walked to the pile of weapons, pawed at it, picked up a longsword, and tried to put it in its mouth.

“Don’t gnaw on that, it’s not for you to eat,” Mo Yan said grumpily, stroking its head.

Gun Gun reluctantly put down the sword, then picked up a breastplate and licked it with its tongue.

This comical scene finally jolted the petrified crowd awake.

“A…a miracle…” an old woman’s lips trembled, and she fell to her knees with a thud.

“Oh my goodness! What a magnificent Space magic!”

“Weapons! Brand new weapons! Am I dreaming?!” A young Soldier rushed forward, his hands trembling as he picked up a longsword, tears of excitement welling in his eyes.

General Loris’s body trembled violently.

He quickly walked to the pile of supplies, picked up a piece of chainmail, and carefully caressed the iron rings on it.

He suddenly turned and looked at Mo Yan.

These supplies were not just weapons and food; they also led them out of despair and became a force for revenge!

This man, he not only had the ability to lead them but also the profound resources and magnanimity!

He took a deep breath, suppressing his trembling body.

After a long moment, he knelt on one knee, propped his longsword in front of him, his voice hoarse but incredibly firm: “Loris, the last commander of the Empire, is willing to lead his remaining troops to die for you, Sir!”

“We are willing to die for you, Sir!”

In the square, thousands of Empire survivors, both Soldiers and civilians, all knelt down in a dense mass.

A sound like a mountain roaring and a sea raging echoed through the underground palace, shaking the crystal stones on the ceiling slightly.

Their eyes looked at Mo Yan as if he were a walking deity among humans.

Mo Yan paid no attention to this; he simply said calmly to Loris: “Distribute the supplies. The wounded first, then the Soldiers. Before I return, I want to see an army capable of fighting.”

Having said that, he no longer lingered, signaling to Bark.

“Let’s go.”

Bark quickly scrambled to his feet, leading two of his subordinates, who were also still in shock, and hurried after Mo Yan.

The abandoned pipeline leading to the third reservoir was located in the most secluded part of the entire underground drainage System.

The mud here was ankle-deep, making every step extremely difficult.

Bark and his two subordinates, holding the fluorescent pearl Mo Yan had given them, walked at the very front.

“Sir, it’s just ahead,” Bark pointed forward.

Mo Yan looked in the direction he indicated; at the end of the passage, there was no longer a brick wall built by humans, but a massive and complete black rock wall, sealing off the path perfectly.

“Sir, look,” one of Bark’s subordinates pointed to a depression at the bottom of the rock wall, “this is where General Loris used a blasting rune to explode it back then.”

Mo Yan walked forward and reached out to touch it.

As his spiritual power spread out to investigate, he could feel that the density and hardness of this rock were indeed far beyond ordinary rock.

If measured by Blue Star’s technology, its hardness would probably be comparable to high-strength alloy.

No wonder Bark and his men were despairing.

With their current capabilities, trying to break through here was indeed a pipe dream.

“Sir, we…” Bark looked at Mo Yan’s back, hesitating to speak.

Although he had witnessed Mo Yan’s methods, he still felt uncertain facing this wall.

Mo Yan didn’t turn around, simply asking lightly: “Step back thirty meters.”

The three of them, Bark, were startled, and though they didn’t understand, they complied, retreating to the safe distance Mo Yan had indicated, watching him nervously.

They saw Mo Yan slowly draw the longsword from his waist.

He held the sword with one hand, the tip pointing diagonally to the ground.

His entire aura underwent a subtle change at this moment.

The three of them, Bark, even instinctively held their breath.

Mo Yan simply extended the longsword in his hand forward.

This was the most basic thrusting motion.

However, just as the sword tip was about to touch the rock wall, a dazzling burst of light suddenly ignited at the tip of the sword.

Under the horrified gazes of the three of them, Bark.

The sword body, inch by inch, disappeared.

When Mo Yan released his hand, the entire longsword had silently merged into the rock wall, leaving only a sword hilt imprint.

He withdrew his hand and stood still, waiting quietly.

The three of them, Bark, rubbed their eyes, unable to believe what they had seen.

That was a rock wall that even blasting runes couldn’t shake!

It was just… pierced by a single sword?

Immediately after, centered around that sword hole, cracks rapidly spread out.

The cracks became more numerous and denser, and the sound grew louder.

Boom—

Finally, under the terrified gaze of the three of them, Bark, the rock wall, dozens of meters thick, collapsed inward with a roar, turning into countless uniformly sized fragments, revealing an equally dark passage behind it.

The ground shook, smoke and dust filled the air, and rocks rolled.

Mo Yan gently waved his sleeve, and an invisible gust of wind swept up, dispersing all the smoke and dust.

“Let’s go, don’t keep the people in the South District waiting,” Mo Yan took out another longsword from his Talent Space and put it on his waist.

“Yes…Yes! Sir!”

They passed through the newly opened rock passage, and the underground waterway network of the South District was before their eyes.

The air here already carried a pungent smell of lamp oil, and occasionally, faint cries and the shouts of Church Knights could be heard from afar.

The situation was even more critical than they had imagined.

“Sir, I know where Hans, the leader of the South District, is hiding. Follow me!” Bark immediately got into action, crouching low and skillfully navigating the complex forks in the path.

They quickly arrived at the gathering place of the South District, which was an underground reservoir.

But at this moment, the place was in chaos.

Thousands of survivors were crammed together, their faces filled with despair.

The main exits of the reservoir were sealed by heavy iron gates, and faintly, the shouts of Church Knights could be heard from outside.

“Hans! You remnant of the Empire, come out quickly and face your death!”

“Your doomsday has arrived! Your only way out is to obediently accept the purification of Holy Light!”

“We’ll give you one last bit of time; once noon arrives, this place will turn into a sea of fire! Hahahaha!”

The arrogant laughter made every survivor feel despair.

“What should we do… We’re doomed…”

“I don’t want to be burned to death…”

Just then, a burly man, built like an iron tower, with calloused fists, stepped forward.

His eyes bloodshot, he roared at the outside: “Bullshit! You demons in divine skins! If you have the guts, come in and fight me one-on-one! What kind of skill is hiding outside?!”

He was Hans, the leader of the South District, Iron Fist.

“Bark?” Hans suddenly saw Bark and his group emerge from the shadows and was startled, “How are you here? Wasn’t the west also sealed?”

Bark’s appearance gave the desperate crowd a glimmer of hope.

“Hans, I’ve come to save you,” Bark didn’t waste words, pointing directly at Mo Yan behind him, “This is Sir Mo Yan, he can lead us out!”

Hans cautiously sized up Mo Yan and Gun Gun, his brows tightly furrowed, pointing to the sealed iron gate, his voice like the roar of a trapped beast:

“See? Those Church scoundrels are outside! Can you save us? Can you make this damned iron door disappear, or can you kill all the Knights outside?”
