235: Guardian of the Archives, the Final Trial of the Empire

Idora slowly opened her eyes.

At that instant, Mo Yan even felt a hint of unfamiliarity.

Idora was still Idora, but her demeanor had undergone an earth-shattering transformation.

Her originally serene eyes now seemed to hold a swirling galaxy, imbued with an indescribable majesty and nobility—the gaze of a sovereign.

Her simple linen clothes, under the baptism of golden light, transformed into a well-tailored white gown adorned with golden patterns, simple yet luxurious.

【Global Announcement (Dungeon Exclusive): The Diens Empire's last imperial Bloodline has Awakened, and the flame of the Empire's resurgence has been ignited!】

【You gained 500 personal points.】

A series of System prompts flashed before Mo Yan's eyes.

He raised his eyebrows slightly, but a considerable stir rose in his heart.

Hero Unit?

This was an unexpected pleasant surprise.

He had thought Idora was just an ordinary person, never expecting such a hidden plot.

Mo Yan's thoughts raced.

A Hero who commanded the Empire's legitimacy and a Divine Artifact was invaluable.

The only question was whether she could be brought out of this dungeon.

If not, it would be a bit of a pity.

If she could...

Then the final harvest from this dungeon would far exceed the sum of all other resources.

Mo Yan looked at the girl on the altar, holding the Scepter and with a greatly changed demeanor, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously curved upward.

"I..." Idora looked down at her hands and the Scepter within them, feeling the surging yet unfamiliar power within her body, momentarily bewildered.

Countless fragments of memory flooded her mind.

That was the Legacy of the Diens imperial family, the wisdom and will of countless ancestors.

"How do you feel?" Mo Yan's voice pulled her back from her chaotic thoughts.

Idora looked up at Mo Yan, her eyes complex.

There was gratitude, reliance, and a hint of reverence she herself had not yet perceived.

"I... I am well. Thank you, Lord Mo Yan." She nodded gently, her movements natural and elegant, as if inborn.

"Greetings, Your Highness the Princess!" Raymond's phantom, now incredibly dim, still struggled to perform the Empire's military salute to Idora.

His face bore a relieved smile.

"My mission... is complete..." He smiled with relief, his phantom becoming increasingly transparent, "Your Highness the Princess, the final trial tests not only power, but also the wisdom and heart of a monarch... Please... be very careful..."

As his words fell, his remaining Soul finally transformed into specks of light, dissipating within the Royal Archives he had guarded for centuries.

His last specks of light did not completely vanish but transformed into a stream of light, merging into the mural depicting the evil sacrifice.

The runes on the mural seemed to be infused with the last of the energy, and they roared into operation!

The stone wall split open in the middle, slowly receding to both sides, revealing a gateway behind it, crafted from obsidian and inscribed with countless golden runes.

Above the gateway, a majestic magical power was Awakening.

"This is where the real challenge begins." Mo Yan looked at the great door, his eyes shining.

Idora clutched the Scepter of the Sun in her hand; her newly Awakened Bloodline told her that behind the door lay the true secrets of the Empire.

She took a deep breath, looked at Mo Yan, and her originally bewildered eyes now became incredibly resolute.

"Lord Mo Yan, the secrets my ancestors guarded with their lives are behind that door!"

She was no longer the guide who needed protection, but the last Queen of the Diens Empire.

The golden runes on the great door flickered like breathing, emitting an ancient pressure.

Idora, holding the Scepter of the Sun, walked step by step towards the great door.

With each step closer, the gem at the top of the Scepter grew brighter, resonating strongly with the runes on the great door.

She could feel that this door recognized her Bloodline, but at the same time, it conveyed a message to her.

A trial.

Buzz—

All the runes on the great door suddenly lit up, and vast magical power surged out from within, converging before the door.

In just a few seconds, a five-meter-tall giant appeared before everyone.

It was entirely made of obsidian, with a flowing golden core in its central cavity.

It had no facial features, yet everyone could feel that it was scrutinizing them.

【Hint: You have activated the Royal Archives' final guardian, the Titan Golem (Rank 10 · Leader)】

【Hint: The ultimate guardian created by the Empire's first Emperor using ancient alchemy and magic, possessing an indestructible defense and destructive power.】

"Hiss..."

Seeing the Golem's Rank, even Mo Yan couldn't help but gasp.

A Rank 10 Leader-level monster!

This was already beyond their current capacity to handle.

He himself had just reached Rank 10, and his Soldiers were only Rank 7.

Under the Rank suppression, their attacks probably wouldn't even scratch the opponent.

"The Empire collapsed due to conspiracy, and perished due to weakness." The Golem's emotionless, grand voice echoed throughout the hall, "Intruders, prove to me that you possess the wisdom to discern schemes and the power to crush formidable foes!"

"Only a true monarch can inherit the Empire's Legacy."

As soon as the words fell, it moved.

It raised its colossal arm and smashed a fist down towards their position!

"Defense!"

The Soldier Captain roared, and eight Shield Soldiers rushed to the front, plunging their great shields into the ground and activating their Qi.

Boom—!

The giant fist collided with the shield Formation.

The Qi shield, jointly supported by the eight Shield Soldiers, instantly became covered in cracks under the giant fist!

They gritted their teeth, but still couldn't hold on for even a second.

The shields shattered, and eight figures flew backward, crashing heavily against the wall behind them, spitting blood, and instantly losing their combat effectiveness.

With just one strike, he had crippled his most elite Shield Soldier squad.

"Too strong..." A Archer murmured, a look of horror in his eyes.

Is this the Empire's ultimate guardian?

It's simply unbeatable!

"Spear of the Sun!"

Just then, Idora cried out, raising the Scepter in her hand.

She could not retreat; this was her first battle as Queen!

Golden light converged above her head, forming a ten-meter-long spear of light, carrying a sacred aura of purification, and pierced towards the Titan Golem.

This was power she had gained from the Scepter's Legacy, immensely powerful.

However, the Titan Golem merely raised its other arm, easily blocking the spear of light.

Amidst the roar, the spear of light exploded, turning into countless specks of light.

"Ineffective?" Idora's face paled.

Her full-strength attack couldn't even break through the opponent's defense.

Mo Yan's eyes narrowed, and Bai Lingyue's figure instantly flashed through his mind; with her Formation assistance, this Golem would be nothing to fear.

But for now, they could only face it head-on.
