Chapter 173: Transfer
Then, a new, authoritative voice, resonant and omnipresent, echoed through the command room – the Simulation AI. Its tone was final, definitive. "Trial exercises concluded. War simulation training starts now."
A palpable shift in the atmosphere. No more simulated points, no more temporary defeats. This was it.
As the Simulation AI’s declaration reverberated, a new, massive notification flared on the holographic table, momentarily pushing the colossal Krill fleet to the background.
[ TRIAL EXERCISES COMPLETE! ]
[ RATING: S ]
A ripple of stunned silence, then a collective gasp, swept through the command room. An "S" rating. It was the highest possible. Hope, raw and unexpected, surged through the officers. They hadn’t anticipated any reward, let alone one of this magnitude.

The officers, previously gripped by dread, were now brimming with a desperate, exhilarating hope. At the very least, they could fight. They hadn’t expected any reward, and this was surely a monumental surprise.
"A planetary shield?! Are you kidding me?!" Ben exclaimed, his jaw agape. "We can actually build one of these?!"
Anya, her eyes scanning the blueprint details, breathed out, "Android engineers... Construction drones... this is incredible! We have the means to build it!"
"Thirty thousand more virtual soldiers!" another officer cheered. "That’s a massive boost to our numbers!"
Ciano, however, didn’t budge. His gaze was fixed, not on the immediate rewards, but on the grim probabilities of the "Mission Fail Next Scenario." He pointed a finger at the holographic text, silencing the burgeoning celebration.
"Look at this," he stated, his voice low but cutting through the excited chatter like a shard of ice. "This isn’t just about winning this fight. This is about everything that comes after."
He swept his gaze across his officers, their faces now sobering. "If we fail this objective – to build and protect this Aegis Spire – there’s a 70% chance the Krill takes over Earth. And our next scenario? ’Retake Earth’ – on ’Very Hard’ difficulty. A suicidal objective, effectively."
"And the other 30%?" asked, his voice strained, dread creeping back into his eyes.
"Escape and form resistance on their home planet," Ciano finished, the word "Impossible" glowing ominously beside it. He paused, letting the weight of his words settle. "This isn’t a ’mission failed, try again’ kind of simulation. Our decisions and outcomes continue the scenario. Meaning, the next mission scenario, if we screw up now, would be monumentally harder. Almost certainly unwinnable, leading to a prolonged, agonizing defeat, or an impossible fight for survival on alien soil."
Anya’s face, already pale, whitened further. "So, this isn’t just about winning this fight... it’s about survival for the next. And the one after that. This is our only chance at a fighting future."
"Exactly," Ciano affirmed, his eyes sweeping across his officers, hardening with grim resolve. "This Aegis Spire is our only chance to turn the tide, to level the playing field, to even survive the coming onslaught. If we build it, we get to defend the entire Solar System – still ’Hard,’ yes, but at least it’s a fight we can win. A fight on our terms."
He slammed a fist softly on the holo-table, the strategic map of the besieged Earth now the sole focus of his attention. "Every single resource we have, every single Spartan, every new Paladin, every virtual soldier we just gained, every Android Engineer, every Construction Drone, every salvaged Krill energy cell – they now have one overarching objective: build that planetary shield within the given timeframe, and protect the builders at all costs."
The officers quickly transmitted the new orders. The digital battlefield on the holo-table shifted as Spartan units began to reroute, their objectives clear, their purpose unwavering. Ciano watched, a grim determination etched on his face. The true war for Earth, within the Chronos-Weave, had just begun.

Meanwhile, back at the secret chamber, Richard’s android doppelganger maintained its flawless façade. The Divine Concordance meeting had moved into its next phase: the formal transfer of domains to the newly initiated Seats. Krill Khians, the Royal Apostle, radiated a chilling authority from her holographic perch, overseeing the process with Anton Rothschild, the Seat of Coin, acting as her earthly proxy.
"We now proceed with the formal investiture of the Seat of Flame," Krill Khians intoned, her reptilian eyes settling on Martin Rockwell. "Your previous enterprises, Mr. Rockwell, are now integrated into the greater structure of the Circle. Your new domain, however, extends far beyond mere corporate ownership. These domains are yours to command, to shape, to control as you see fit, always in service to the Grand Design of Krill Mainu."
Anton Rothschild, his face serene but his eyes gleaming with proprietary satisfaction, gestured to the holo-table, which now displayed a intricate web of global energy corporations. "Indeed, Martin. You now hold the reins of global energy. The flow of power, from the earth’s veins to the world’s cities, is yours to direct."
Entity
Role
ExxonMobil
America’s flagship oil giant; massive international leverage, close ties to government (Tillerson later became Secretary of State).
Chevron
Heavy U.S. energy footprint, global oil/gas ops, embedded in South America and Africa.
Koch Industries
Quiet kingmakers; own oil refineries, pipelines, petrochemicals; fund political campaigns and policy think tanks (Cato, Heritage).
Halliburton
Engineering, oil field services, and military energy logistics—ties to Cheney-era defense infrastructure.
Enbridge / Kinder Morgan
Pipeline monopolies; move oil and gas across U.S. and Canada.
Department of Energy (DOE)
Civilian face of U.S. energy policy—controls nuclear reserves, pipeline strategy, research.
Energy Information Administration (EIA)
Controls narratives, projections, and economic weaponization of supply data.
Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR)
Taps and manipulates oil reserves during crises—literal weapon of market control.
???? Pillars of Power (U.S. Deep State Energy Control):
Petrodollar Hegemony – Ensures oil is sold globally in U.S. dollars, maintaining currency supremacy.
OPEC Negotiation Leverage – uses covert diplomacy and military positioning to influence Middle Eastern outputs.
Pipeline Dominance – Controls physical infrastructure from Canada to Mexico; Keystone XL was a politically sensitive example.
Fracking Revolution – Gave energy independence, weakened OPEC influence.
Energy Sanctions as Warfare – Iran, Venezuela, Russia—all pressured using energy exports and financial restrictions.
Black Sites for Energy Contracts – Post-war Iraq and Libya privatizations; energy tied to military occupations.
Martin Rockwell leaned back, a smug, satisfied smirk spreading across his face. "Finally. The true power. No more dealing with pesky regulations or public sentiment. The Lord of Veins indeed." His mind raced, already calculating new ways to manipulate supply, choke off competition, and extend his influence into every corner of the globe. Oil, gas, rare earths... and now, infinite life to enjoy the fruits of my labor. A beautiful synergy.
"Now, the Seat of Sight," Krill Khians announced, her gaze shifting to Ariana Moore, a celebrated media personality and scion of an old elite family. Ariana, with her polished allure, subtly caught Richard doppelganger’s handsome physique, a flicker of genuine interest in her eyes. Little did she know, she was eyeing an android.
Anton continued the ceremony, his voice smooth. "Ariana, your influence has always been vast. Now, it is absolute. The narratives of humanity, the very fabric of their perceived reality, rests in your hands. This domain is yours to command."
CNN / MSNBC / Fox News
Establish the mainstream Overton window—each tailored to a political demographic but ultimately operating within allowed frames.
The New York Times / Washington Post
Print media of record. Used for official narrative cementing and leak placement.
Disney / ABC / Marvel
Culture-shaping via entertainment, normalization of ideas, and emotional priming.

Warner Bros / Time Warner
Entertainment empire used for myth creation, "hero stories," and anti-dissent framing.
Google (YouTube)
Video platform that controls virality, demonetization, and narrative filtration.
Facebook (Meta)
Social media mindspace—curates "public consensus," boosts some messages, buries others.
Mechanisms of Control:
Narrative Engineering: Spins or silences stories depending on strategic timing.
Media Echo Chamber Creation: Orchestrated talking points across networks.
Celebrity & Influencer Deployment: Activates celebrity figures for controlled emotional appeal (social justice, patriotism, anti-extremism).
Crisis Amplification or Suppression: Chooses what counts as a "tragedy" or a "threat."
Control Tech & Soft Power:
News cycle throttling
Trending topic injection
AI-assisted bot farms (indirect via contractors)
Coordination with fact-checking NGOs and think tanks (e.g. Brookings, Atlantic Council)
Ariana Moore’s lips curved into a slow, chilling smile. "The Mirror’s Voice," she mused softly, the title fitting her perfectly. To control what billions see, hear, and believe... to mold their very thoughts. Her gaze drifted back to the doppelganger. And now, with this... this extraordinary Richard Santamo in the Circle... the media narratives I can weave about his ’genius’ and ’innovation’ will be simply unparalleled. A fascinating new piece on my chessboard. She imagined the public frenzy, the unquestioning adoration she could orchestrate.
Then, all eyes turned to Richard’s doppelganger as Anton continued the domain transfer ceremony. Krill Khians’ holographic projection seemed to subtly shift, her glowing eyes lingering on the doppelganger. Interesting, she thought, a faint, almost imperceptible ripple disturbing her serene reptilian features. This human... possesses an unusual resonance. A certain... quality. She, too, had noted Ariana Moore’s overt interest. How typically organic, Khians mused, her mind calculating. Women of all species, it seemed, did indeed compete for a male, especially if the male was as "shiny as the diamond." A silent battle, a primal competition, had begun.
Ariana Moore’s predatory smile tightened, almost imperceptibly, as she sensed Khians’ attention on Richard. A sneer curled within her mind. How dare this glorified lizard even look at him? She’s an Apostle, yes, but she’s still an alien. A silent, furious promise formed in her thoughts: I will take her down. And I will win Richard Santamo’s heart. He will be mine.
Krill Khians, sensing Ariana’s silent challenge, merely changed her holographic posture, straightening slightly, her head tilting back a fraction. It was a subtle, almost imperceptible gesture, but to those initiated in the intricate dance of power within the Circle, it was a clear sign of superiority and dominance.
The other male Seats, notably Anton Rothschild, exchanged knowing glances. A collective, internal sigh seemed to pass among them. Anton even offered a fleeting, almost sympathetic glance at Richard’s doppelganger. Poor bastard, he thought. He has no idea the trouble he’s just walked into. The real games, the ones of power, influence, and even primal competition, had just begun.
