Register for a Didi driver
When the three brothers heard that on the first night, he had simply booked a room in a hotel to sleep because it was too late, they could still accept it.
But when they heard that Xu Ning had actually been 'reverse-pushed' by a beautiful woman who called for a designated driver last night, they instantly couldn't take it.
"Are you kidding?"
"There's such a good thing?"
"I said, Third Brother, why are you still diligently working as a designated driver even after inheriting an estate? So, it turns out being a designated driver leads to romantic encounters!"
"Third Brother, you're so inconsiderate, how can you hog all the good stuff?"
"No, I want to be a designated driver too!"
...The three of them were truly excited; after all, what Xu Ning said completely exceeded their understanding.
Although they didn't look down on designated drivers, a designated driver is just an ordinary service profession.
In other words, if you have money, who would be a designated driver?!
Would a beautiful woman driving a luxury car look at a designated driver?
But now that Xu Ning explained it, they realized that while the women were indeed beautiful, they were also drunk.
Under the influence of alcohol, a person's consciousness and judgment can become skewed, making it very possible to do out-of-character things that they normally wouldn't.
If you encounter a drunk beautiful woman, then anything is possible!
As if they had discovered a new continent, the three of them suddenly became interested.
The eldest, Huo Xuefeng, came from a wealthy merchant family, always had money in his pocket, and had never considered working part-time to save money.
The second, Ding Zehui, and the fourth, Deng Zihao, both came from middle-class families; while not extremely rich, they didn't lack money to spend and had no concept of working part-time to save money.
More importantly, none of the three currently had girlfriends, so even if they had a chance to have something happen with a beautiful woman, they would have no psychological burden whatsoever.
Looking at the three eager individuals, Xu Ning was rather speechless.
Are you guys trying to be designated drivers?
Pah!
You're just lusting after beautiful women!
How despicable!
"Let me give you some data!"
"On average, you'll encounter one beautiful woman in twenty designated driving trips. As for the probability of something happening with a beautiful woman, you can figure that out yourselves!"
"It's very possible you'll work hard for several months and still not get a chance!"
Xu Ning was not exaggerating at all.
After all, he was a resident designated driver at a restaurant, where business people were the majority.
If he were at a bar or nightclub, he might have more chances to encounter beautiful women calling for designated drivers.
But in that case, why would you even be a designated driver? Wouldn't it be better to just wait outside and 'pick up corpses'?
It felt like the chances of 'picking up corpses' were higher than being a designated driver!
After hearing Xu Ning's analysis, the three felt disappointed.
The thought that designated drivers mostly encounter drunkards and greasy middle-aged men every day, rather than beautiful women, shattered all their pleasant fantasies.
"Are you still going to be a designated driver tonight?" Huo Xuefeng asked.
Xu Ning shook his head, saying with some regret, "The restaurant has a power outage, so it's not open today."
Huo Xuefeng's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and he excitedly suggested,
"Then let's go to a bar tonight!"
"We haven't been this semester yet!"
Because the three roommates, excluding Xu Ning, all came from good family backgrounds, an occasional visit to a bar didn't put much financial strain on them.
In their almost four years of university, they would go to a bar together roughly once every semester.
Of course, because of Xu Ning's poor financial situation, they didn't require him to pay.
Xu Ning naturally wouldn't feel at ease letting his brothers pay, so he would always decline, but in the end, they would always forcibly drag him into the car.
Now that he had money, he figured he would have to treat them this time.
Upon hearing Huo Xuefeng's words, Ding Zehui and Deng Zihao both raised both hands and feet in agreement, eager to rush to the bar immediately.
Speaking of which, bars are indeed excellent places for fun.
The premise is that you're not short on cash; after a night of extravagance, you'll most likely find a girl to spend the night with.
Xu Ning knew his limits, so he always kept a distance from any girls who approached him.
As for the three of them, they truly had the dashing experience of leaving a bar and going straight to a hotel with a girl... The waiting time was difficult, and soon the few of them were a bit fidgety, even games didn't seem fun anymore.
However, the busiest time for bars is after ten o'clock; at eight or nine, people are usually eating or relaxing before heading to the bar to have fun.
At dinner time, the four of them went to the cafeteria together, looking forward to their nightclub outing that evening.
Meanwhile, Xu Ning was pondering how he should expand his channels.
First, he couldn't limit himself to being a resident designated driver anymore.
On one hand, he needed to avoid incidents like the restaurant's power outage, which left him with no work.
On the other hand, restaurants also tend to close early, wasting a lot of late-night hours that could be used for designated driving.
Should he find another bar or nightlife venue to be a resident designated driver?
It wasn't impossible, but if he were truly tied to one place, he might have to stay up all night every night, as bars and nightclubs are all about all-night partying.
Although he wanted to earn a lot of money, he couldn't sacrifice his health just for that.
If his health wasn't good, no amount of money would allow him to enjoy it!
After much thought, it seemed there was only one solution.
That was to register on a designated driving platform.
In reality, that's the most common way for designated drivers to get orders.
For example, DiDi Designated Driving, Gaode Designated Driving, E Designated Driving, and so on, are all major platforms.
As for choosing among these platforms, Xu Ning didn't dwell on it too much and directly chose DiDi Designated Driving, which has the largest traffic.
After all, backed by WeChat, even if its business practices might be a bit unsightly, getting orders is still guaranteed.
He downloaded the DiDi Designated Driving driver app and quickly completed the designated driver registration.
Looking at the various terms and, most importantly, the income method, Xu Ning couldn't help but exclaim, "Black!"
So dark!
On DiDi Designated Driving, the Beijing area has detailed pricing.
Before 10 PM, the starting fare is 35 yuan;
From 10 PM to 11 PM, the starting fare is 50 yuan;
From 11 PM to 12 AM, the starting fare is 65 yuan;
From 12 AM to 6 AM, the starting fare is 85 yuan;
The starting fare covers up to 8 kilometers; beyond 8 kilometers, an additional 4 yuan per kilometer is charged.
Drivers wait for free for 10 minutes after arrival; exceeding that, a waiting fee of 1 yuan per minute is charged.
If the journey exceeds 20 kilometers, a return trip fee of 13 yuan per 10 kilometers is charged for the excess portion.
Additionally, if a car's trunk cannot fit the designated driver's scooter, a designated driver without a scooter must be chosen, which incurs an additional 4.9 yuan 'no scooter service fee.' ...With so many pricing standards, it's very complicated to calculate, far less convenient than being a resident designated driver!
As for Xu Ning saying the platform was 'dark,' he wasn't referring to the high designated driving fees, but rather the platform's rather aggressive commission rate for designated drivers.
Don't assume that all the money charged according to these standards goes directly into the designated driver's pocket.
The platform takes a commission, and the commission rate is not low!
