12: Shi Yongqiang: I was actually passed around!
Shi Yongqiang waited by the entrance of the Arbitration Court, smoking a cigarette.
Soon, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was Liu calling. He quickly answered.
"Hello, how did it go? How much money do they want?"
Liu's voice came through the phone: "General Manager Shi, they didn't talk about money at all. They said first you have to apologize in person; only then will it be considered sincere."
"If you don't apologize, then we won't even begin to discuss terms."
"What?" Shi Yongqiang was stunned. "Did they really say that?"
On the other end of the phone, Liu looked in the direction of the arbitration room and said, "That's exactly what they said. Liu Fusheng said he's listening entirely to that lawyer."
"And that lawyer immediately opened his mouth and said that me coming to apologize shows no sincerity, you must come yourself... It's mainly this lawyer; I feel like with him there, there's no way to talk."
Shi Yongqiang thought for a moment and said, "How did you talk before? Tell me roughly."
Liu began to recount the conversation, and Shi Yongqiang's face grew darker and darker as he listened, eventually throwing his cigarette down.
"Damn it, is this lawyer sick? Why does he insist on me apologizing? I already said I'm willing to pay, so why are they still holding on?" Shi Yongqiang roared furiously.
Liu hesitated for a moment but still spoke, "Well, General Manager Shi, what do you think we should do now? Do you want to..."
Shi Yongqiang said with a grim expression, "Impossible. I can't apologize. What you said at the end was right. They should know that this is a chance I'm giving them, and if they miss it, it's gone!"
"There's no need to go back in now, just leave. I want to see if Liu Fusheng is anxious!"
Although Director Fan was putting a lot of pressure on him, Shi Yongqiang felt it shouldn't be too urgent. He decided to drag it out first, otherwise the other side would definitely think he was eager to settle.
Anyway, as long as the problem could be solved in the end, that was fine.
Shortly after Shi Yongqiang left with Liu, Zhou Yun also walked out of the Arbitration Court with Liu Fusheng and his son, smiling at them:
"Alright, you both go back. I also need to return to Jinghai first. In about two more days, General Manager Shi will probably call. When that happens, just follow what I taught you; it can guarantee maximum benefit!"
"I still say the same thing: you two don't need to get anxious or worked up. Just wait for him to beg us. Right now, the Court is more anxious than us!"
Of course, the Court was more anxious. They could at most delay for seven days. Once seven days passed, he could at any time take the case to the Intermediate Court.
Liu Fusheng had already realized the situation and also smiled, "Okay, Zhou Lawyer, we will definitely listen to you. This time, we must get a good vent!"
Soon, Zhou Yun returned to the hotel. Now, it was a matter of waiting. Three days had passed since he filed the lawsuit, and there were four days left.
The two sides were like playing cards, constantly in a game of wits, but Zhou Yun knew the other party's hand, because the other party's hand was dealt by him personally.
So he wasn't anxious at all. He would let the bullets fly for a while.
Just like that, one day, two days, three days, time flew by.
Three days later, at Fengxian County Court, Director Fan was called into the Dean's office.
"What's going on, huh? It's been three days, and there's still no movement!" The Dean roared with a dark face.
Director Fan quickly said, "Dean, I already made it very clear to Shi Yongqiang before. I also don't know why there's still no movement. I'll go urge him again."
"Urge him quickly!"
The Dean was getting a bit worked up, because if the case really went to the Intermediate Court, then things would get out of control. Such cases would definitely be designated jurisdiction, to be heard by a Court in another region.
In this day and age, self-media is ubiquitous. If it gets reported then... No need to think, the internet would surely have a field day.
Director Fan, after being scolded, walked out of the Dean's office with a dark face and immediately dialed Shi Yongqiang's number.
Meanwhile, Shi Yongqiang was having some fun with his secretary.
In his opinion, it had only been three days. At the very least, he should wait seven days before doing anything.
But just then, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was Director Fan calling. He quickly answered: "Hello, Director Fan, I'm working on that matter..."
He knew without a doubt that Director Fan was calling about that matter, so he stated his position first.
However, no sooner had he finished speaking than Director Fan's roar echoed from the phone.
"Working on it? How many days has it been, huh, Shi Yongqiang, I ask you, how many days has it been, and you're still working on it? Do you have to wait until the Dean is humiliated before you can finish it? Is that it?"
Huh? Shi Yongqiang was completely stunned. This... it's only been three days, is it really necessary to get so angry?
But at this moment, he certainly didn't dare to say anything, only continued to listen.
"I'm telling you, the Dean was very angry just now. If there's still no result tomorrow, the other party can directly go to the Intermediate Court!"
"Then the case will be under inter-regional jurisdiction, and Fengxian County Court will become a complete laughingstock. When that happens, we won't have a good outcome, and neither will you!"
Hearing Director Fan's words, Shi Yongqiang felt cold sweat trickling down. He had never expected this matter to be so urgent.
It had only been three days, and to Shi Yongqiang, three days wasn't considered a long time at all.
But now, Director Fan had given a deadline: it must be resolved by tomorrow, or he would basically be unable to continue in this line of work.
His connections were indeed very strong, but no matter how strong the connections, people within the system always prioritized themselves first.
After hanging up the phone, Shi Yongqiang quickly pushed the female secretary away and called Liu over. He was going to call Liu Fusheng himself.
Now it was no longer a matter of 'face'; it was a matter of whether he could continue to make a living in the future!
Compared to face, making a living was definitely more important.
The call connected, and Shi Yongqiang quickly said, "Is this Liu Fusheng? I'm Shi Yongqiang. We had a misunderstanding before..."
However, his words were only halfway out when Liu Fusheng interrupted him.
"Don't tell me these things. Just contact my lawyer directly. Everything has been entrusted to him. That's all."
After speaking, Liu Fusheng directly hung up the phone.
Shi Yongqiang was dumbfounded, then suddenly roared, "Damn it, Liu Fusheng actually dared to hang up on me!"
He really wanted to get angry, but now was clearly not the time for anger.
He kept calling, and it kept connecting, but the other party just said one thing: talk to the lawyer.
Shi Yongqiang tried to calm himself down. Currently, there were two possibilities: either the lawyer was playing tricks, wanting more money, or Liu Fusheng was using the lawyer as a shield.
Shi Yongqiang leaned towards the former. After all, he knew Liu Fusheng fairly well; he had been a chef his whole life and wasn't particularly capable.
So, was all of this designed by that lawyer? Forcing him to compromise by suing the Court?
After thinking for a long time, Shi Yongqiang felt that this must be it. He hadn't paid much attention to this lawyer before, thinking that he was like the other lawyers in the county, just out to scam money.
But now, it seemed this lawyer was simply outrageous!
After a while, Shi Yongqiang picked up his phone and made a call. He wanted to have a good talk with this Zhou Lawyer.
Soon, the call connected, and Zhou Yun's voice came through: "Hello, Zhou Yun from Tianhe Law Firm, how can I help you?"
"Oh, Zhou Lawyer, I'm Shi Yongqiang. We met a few days ago."
In the Jinghai Law Firm office, Zhou Yun leaned back in his chair and smiled when he heard this: "Oh, General Manager Shi, is there something you need by calling?"
Shi Yongqiang tried to keep his voice light: "Zhou Lawyer, it's about the lawsuit you filed. You see, I really wasn't sincere before, not apologizing in person."
"Now I'm prepared to apologize in person. How can we resolve this matter...?"
Zhou Yun smiled again: "General Manager Shi, you see, you've called the wrong person. You should be contacting the client, right? I'm just a lawyer; contacting me is useless."
"But Zhou Lawyer, I called Liu Fusheng, and he said all these matters are up to you to decide, and then he blocked me. I..." Shi Yongqiang was getting a bit anxious, his tone changing.
Zhou Yun remained unhurried: "Then I'm not too sure about that, but normally, as a lawyer, I really can't decide these things."
"You should still talk to the client. I have other things to do... I'm currently under investigation by the Lawyers Association, a lot of trouble. I'm really sorry, I'll hang up now."
This wasn't him making things up; Jiang Qiming had already started to exert pressure.
Now they knew he was attracting traffic and clients through free legal consultations in his live stream, so someone immediately reported him to the Lawyers Association, claiming that Zhou Yun was using media advertising for dishonest promotion.
He was clearly a newly practicing lawyer, yet he was claiming to be a great lawyer or something.
Then the Lawyers Association immediately began an investigation, moving incredibly fast.
"Hello! Hello? Why did he hang up!"
Shi Yongqiang quickly called back, but it was the same result. He hung up after only a few words, just telling him to find the client.
He tried Liu Fusheng again, but Liu Fusheng was still the same, telling him to talk to the lawyer.
"Hello, Liu, this Zhou Lawyer said to find you... Hello, hello?"
He hung up again. He quickly tried to call back, but couldn't get through at all. This clearly meant he had been blocked!
Shi Yongqiang roared furiously, "Damn it, they're treating me like a football!"
He was all too familiar with this situation.
Because he used to be the one kicking the ball around. If the dispatched workers were fired and dissatisfied, he would start passing the buck. After a few rounds like that, the other party would just give up.
But he never expected that this time, he would be the one being kicked!
It was too much, truly too much. He, Shi Yongqiang, had been in this business for so many years and had never encountered something so frustrating.
He felt like doing something, but then he remembered Director Fan's words and reined in those thoughts.
What to do? What on earth should he do?
Wait, that lawyer seemed to say he was currently under investigation by the Lawyers Association there...
