91: Jinghai City Labor Market Research Report

The Police Comrades who had rushed over were a bit bewildered.

When they received the alarm, they hurried over, because what the caller said was too terrifying: hundreds of people, armed with wrenches and such, looked like they were about to start a fight.

If a mass incident like that really happened, they’d be in trouble; the grassroots would always be the ones who had to clean up the mess.

But now, everything looked so harmonious.

After Zhou Yun introduced himself, he said, “Comrade, if you don’t believe me, I have evidence here. These are mediation agreements issued by the Labor Arbitration Court, there’s just quite a lot of them.”

The Police Comrades took the mediation agreements and started looking through them. There were no problems, but looking at the thick stack of agreements, it was more than just “a bit” much…

Zhou Yun wasn’t done yet. Pointing at Wu Junxian, who was verifying the mediation agreements, he said, “This is the company boss, Mr. Wu. Could you tell the Police Comrade that you are doing this voluntarily, right?”

Wu Junxian looked at the Police Comrades and said with a mournful face, “I, I am doing this voluntarily. Lawyer Zhou is right.”

“See? Everything is reasonable and legal.”

Although the Police Comrades were a bit confused, with the mediation agreements in hand, they didn’t say anything more.

The money distribution continued like this for about three hours, finally finishing.

From the beginning until now, Zhou Yun had used his phone to record the reactions of many people.

Now, holding up his phone again, he said, “Everyone has received their money, right? Is there anyone who hasn’t? No, right?”

“Good, come on, everyone, say with me: Thank you, Mr. Wu!”

A group of people immediately laughed and said, “Thank you, Mr. Wu!”

Wu Junxian’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot. He didn’t even want to speak. If possible, he truly wanted this Zhou fellow to die!

Zhou Yun naturally didn’t care. He put away his phone and then walked out, chatting and laughing with everyone.

As he walked, he said, “Everyone, I have something else here that I’d like your help with!”

Niu Shanghui, who was nearby, immediately said, “Lawyer Zhou, please tell us. No matter what it is, as long as we can help, we definitely will!”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, “It’s still about my research project. Next, I plan to expand it. I want to see how serious this situation in Jinghai City really is!”

After speaking, seeing that Niu Shanghui and the other workers looked bewildered, Zhou Yun added, “That is to say, I want to see if other labor agencies in Jinghai City have similar situations.”

“You can tell your acquaintances about your examples. If others have also encountered such situations, have them come find me, but it cannot be related to Mr. Wu’s company.”

“Of course, I still need to clarify that the cases will certainly not be free, but I will provide them with a portion of research funds and usage fees for their portrait rights and other rights.”

Hearing Zhou Yun’s words, everyone laughed. It made sense now.

Lawyer Zhou was too cautious; it was clearly free, yet he insisted on moving the money around like this.

One person asked, “Lawyer Zhou, can anyone with this situation come to you?”

Zhou Yun nodded, “Yes, anyone can come to me. Perhaps some companies have different names, but the methods are all the same.”

“They all draw a big picture for you, making you mistakenly believe that this thing exists, and then after you work hard for a period, they don’t give you the money.”

That person immediately said, “Lawyer Zhou, I have one right here. I was at another factory in Jinghai City, and it was exactly the same, also called a job retention subsidy. You see…”

Zhou Yun was overjoyed to hear this: “You’ll come with me to the firm later, and everyone else can also help me ask around in your work groups!”

Everyone nodded in agreement. Some immediately pulled out their phones and started sending messages.

“Old Zhang, I remember you said before that you worked for two months and didn’t get a subsidy, right? Quick, there’s a lawyer now who helps with lawsuits!”

“They don’t charge money, or rather, they do, but after they collect it for the research project and such, they’ll return it to you. They got my money for me!”

“If you don’t believe me, I’ll show you the record right now, I just got it. There are over two hundred people here, and they all helped get their money. Lawyer Zhou Yun is very famous online, he wouldn’t lie to you.”

With over two hundred people present working together, the commotion was significant. Everyone’s thought was simple: if Lawyer Zhou wanted help, then they would help him well, and enjoy the show at the same time.

After all, no one had ever done something like this before!

No one understood how chaotic the labor market was better than these migrant workers.

Money could indeed be earned, but pitfalls were everywhere, and you couldn't avoid them just by being smart, because everyone was like this.

Many factories no longer directly recruited people; all work was done through intermediaries. If you didn’t agree, if you didn’t sign that kind of contract, you couldn’t even get in.

At a factory area, a middle-aged man called Old Zhang was desperately pleading with the labor agency in front of him.

“I’m really begging you, I’ve worked for so long, why aren’t you giving me the money? You promised at the beginning, my child isn’t well and needs money…”

However, no matter how much he pleaded, it was useless; the man opposite him completely ignored him.

“Whether your child needs money or not is none of my business. The contract was signed in black and white, and now you’re saying you don’t acknowledge it? Get lost!”

Old Zhang was truly filled with grief and indignation. For a second, he really wanted to fight the other person to the death.

But thinking of his child still in the hospital, he held back. To save money, he only dared to eat steamed buns with pickles for every meal, and now… Why didn’t God just take these people away!

“I’m going to sue you, just you wait!” Old Zhang shouted again.

The man opposite him said directly, “Go sue wherever you want, am I afraid of you?”

Old Zhang walked to the side. He didn’t know what to do. He pulled out his phone, preparing to tell his wife.

But just then, he saw a message from a fellow villager.

The famous Lawyer Zhou Yun online was going to help everyone defend their rights? And it was free… oh, not free, but close enough.

These things weren’t much, he hadn’t really heard of Zhou Yun before.

The key was that his fellow villager had sent him the record of getting the money!

Without any hesitation, Old Zhang quickly dialed the number: “Hello, did that Lawyer Zhou really help you get the money? And it was free?”

The man on the other end of the phone laughed: “Old Zhang, why would I lie to you? It’s true, but Lawyer Zhou is very particular about saying ‘free,’ so you shouldn’t say it either.”

“If you want to go, I’ll send you the address and phone number. That Lawyer Zhou is especially reliable, you don’t have to worry about anything.”

“Oh, and you can also tell everyone you know. If they have this situation, they can all go to Lawyer Zhou. He seems to be working on this research project… we don’t really understand it.”

There were too many situations similar to Old Zhang’s. Although everyone didn’t understand Lawyer Zhou’s actions, as long as they could get their money back, that was all that mattered.

Zhou Yun had already returned to the law firm. After preparing the contract for the worker who had come with him, he planned to start writing his thesis.

He wasn’t just talking nonsense; this time, he was truly going to do a proper research project, titled “Jinghai City Labor Market Research Report,” all based on real-life examples.

How many similar labor agencies there were in Jinghai City, and how many of these labor agencies used this method to make money, all had to be investigated clearly.

Everything had to be backed up by data and cases.

After all, Mr. Wu had also said, “Everyone else is doing this, why are you only targeting me?”

Lawyer Zhou Yun was most amenable to advice. Since he said everyone was doing it, then he would have to investigate thoroughly to see if everyone was indeed doing it.

All of this would be published then, for everyone to see clearly.
