104: Chapter 104 A Thrilling and Exciting Crossfire

Looking at the English error message that popped up on the screen, which he could not understand at all, Old Chu paused for a moment.

"What does this mean?"

He clicked OK, reopened the game, and loaded it again.

This time the loading speed was a bit faster than before, but the progress bar stuttered right before it was about to fill up.

Then...

Another error message.

Several players nearby, who were also waiting for alliance of valiant arms, encountered the same problem; not a single person managed to load it successfully or see the game interface.

"Internet Cafe Manager, what is going on?"

Someone shouted.

The Internet Cafe Manager, a young man wearing glasses, walked over quickly and leaned in to look at the English error codes on Old Chu's screen.

He looked at them once.

Then he looked at them again, nodding as he did so.

Then he straightened up, acting as if he had everything under control, and said pretentiously.

"There is a solution."

Old Chu asked hurriedly.

"What solution?"

The Internet Cafe Manager pushed up his glasses, his tone quite confident.

"Try restarting!"

Having worked as an Internet Cafe Manager at this cafe for so many years, the universal computer repair formula he had learned was: restart!

If the computer lags, try restarting; if the game will not open, try restarting; one way or another, restarting is enough.

"What if it still does not work after restarting?"

"Uninstall it and try downloading it again."

Old Chu fell silent.

Several people nearby who could not get into alliance of valiant arms also chose the "restarting method" one after another.

While Old Chu and his group were restarting their computers.

Chen Yang had already completed the tutorial. In the shop, he used his initial coins to buy a few rifles and equipped a pistol, then clicked on Team Deathmatch.

The Team Deathmatch loaded very quickly. When Chen Yang clicked in, the progress bar on the left lit up, and the match started.

The map was Ship.

As soon as Chen Yang entered the map, he tried firing a few shots with the M4A1 he had just bought and found the handling quite good. But the second he ran out of the spawn point, an enemy grenade was thrown over, exploding at his feet. His screen shook.

Chen Yang fell to the ground.

Because he was not familiar with the map, Chen Yang died several times in a row without getting a single kill. However, thanks to these deaths, he finally figured out the general layout of the map.

Once more.

He ran out from the spawn point and hid behind the wooden crate to the right of the container, waiting for the enemy to approach, his gun already aimed.

The first person rushed out.

Chen Yang clicked the left mouse button.

The crosshair moved up, and the bullets hit the character's chest, causing the opponent's health to drop by a chunk. He instinctively pulled the mouse down, and the subsequent bullets all hit.

Bang!

The kill sound effect exploded from his headphones.

Unlike the crisp sound of gunfire, the kill sound effect was indescribably deep and satisfying, maximizing the feedback. A kill icon also popped up in the center of the screen.

Chen Yang's fingers trembled slightly.

He had never heard such an engaging kill sound effect in a shooting game before.

The combined stimulation of sound and visuals made the moment of the kill a source of pure satisfaction.

Chen Yang did not think too much and continued to crouch behind the crate.

A second enemy rushed out.

He lowered his crosshair to continue the ambush, but this time, he was spotted and killed by the opponent.

However, having gained experience, Chen Yang finally got into the zone after respawning and started to get a feel for the rhythm of the gun.

He did not just hold down the left mouse button; instead, he fired a few shots, paused, and resumed firing after the crosshair settled.

This rhythm of tapping was different from CS; the fire rate was faster, the recoil compensation was smaller, and the feeling of landing consecutive hits was very smooth.

After using the same method to kill at least one person every time he respawned, Chen Yang stopped hiding and started actively rushing out to find enemies.

Circling from outside the spawn point to the middle lane, both sides were in a fierce firefight in the open area between the containers.

He pressed forward, hugging the cover. The first enemy appeared—tapped.

The second—reloaded, tapped.

The third jumped down from the ship cabin container; Chen Yang chased after him, fired a burst, and killed the opponent in the corner.

Afterward, when others chased after him, he quickly whipped his aim around and, before the magazine ran out, held down the mouse button and killed several enemies in a row.

And in his headphones.

Even more exciting sound effects began to play.

Double kill!

Multi kill!

The sound effects of the kill streak exploded in his ears.

As the kill notifications stacked up one after another, the sound effects upgraded along with them. The feeling was completely different from just getting a single kill; the satisfaction was more than doubled.

"Awesome!"

Chen Yang shouted with his mouth open.

Just as he was preparing to rush for the next wave, a death screen suddenly popped up on his screen.

A bullet came from the high platform on the side, directly knocking his character away.

Headshot kill.

Chen Yang paused.

That position was not on the normal route.

After respawning, he did not rush out immediately but carefully examined the map. Only then did he discover that there was actually a small path next to the spawn point that led directly to the high platform outside the enemy's spawn point!

Entering from under the deck next to the spawn point, Chen Yang quickly climbed to the second deck. Just as he poked his head out, he spotted a large group of enemies.

He had arrived.

This was the spot!

A platform made of discarded cargo racks allowed him to see the situation below clearly.

Because it was the first day of the open beta, no one was familiar with every corner of this map.

Most people were still trading fire in the middle.

So, after poking his head out, Chen Yang did not waste a single bullet and instantly killed four people in a row, with the last one even being a headshot!

Head shot.

When the headshot sound effect exploded, it made Chen Yang feel incredibly ecstatic!

Chen Yang leaned back in his chair and exhaled a long breath.

"Awesome."

Although he was quickly spotted and killed, Chen Yang was already completely immersed. He joined the battlefield immediately after respawning; it was as if he could not even hear the noises in the surrounding internet cafe.

And it was not just Chen Yang.

Most people in the internet cafe who chose to play crossfire first had already started their own matches and were engaging in frenzied slaughter.

Gunshots rang out one after another.

Finally, the match officially ended.

Chen Yang leaned back in his chair and flexed his somewhat stiff wrists. He stared at the results screen for a while; every kill statistic was clearly marked on the panel.

He still felt like playing more.

Without any hesitation, Chen Yang prepared to start the next round.

As he reached out his hand, he caught a glimpse of Old Chu in the seat next to him.

Old Chu's head was tilted toward his side, his eyes fixed on the kill replay on Chen Yang's screen, his mouth slightly agape. He did not know how long he had been watching.

Chen Yang turned his head, and Old Chu immediately pulled his head back.

His gaze drifted to the wall opposite, and he picked up the water cup on the table to take a sip, his expression quite calm, as if nothing had happened.

He had already finished a match, and yet Old Chu had not even entered the game!

Chen Yang glanced at Old Chu's screen.

He was actually reinstalling alliance of valiant arms! The progress bar had barely reached the halfway point.

Feeling Chen Yang's gaze, Old Chu coughed.

"I took a look just now; this game of yours is mediocre, the graphics are too crude."

"alliance of valiant arms still looks better."

He pointed to the installation progress on the screen.

"The Internet Cafe Manager said just now that there might be a problem with the client the internet cafe downloaded in advance, so he told us to reinstall it."

"It will be downloaded soon, it is not a big problem."

Chen Yang leaned back in his chair.

"Do not waste time; come play crossfire, it is so awesome."

Old Chu shook his head.

"I will be able to enter alliance of valiant arms in a moment."

Chen Yang did not try to persuade him further.

He turned his head and started another round. This match went even smoother, with several kill streaks.

Meanwhile.

Just as Chen Yang was in his second match, killing so intensely that he lost track of the world, alliance of valiant arms finally finished downloading on Old Chu's computer.

Installing.

Logging in.

Old Chu's expression became tense again; if it still did not work, he would not know what to do.

And this time.

After a long loading period, the main game interface finally appeared, and it did not freeze up like before!

Seeing this, Old Chu breathed a sigh of relief and even cheered out loud.

The Internet Cafe Manager behind him had walked over at some point and was standing behind Old Chu, watching the screen. His tone carried a hint of satisfaction as he nodded and said.

"I told you, reinstalling would definitely solve it."

"How about that, was I right?"

Old Chu looked back at him.

"You do have some experience."

The Internet Cafe Manager puffed out his chest.

"That is for sure."

"Go to the tutorial quickly; I want to see how this game is too."

Old Chu nodded and prepared to operate it.

But the next second.

His hand had just been placed on the mouse and had only just moved it.

Beep beep beep!!

Zzz—

The computer crashed instantly.
