111: Chapter 111 This biohazard mode is so awesome!
While Old Chu was going through the novice training for alliance of valiant arms, Chen Yang's Biohazard Pyramid map had already finished loading.
The moment the map lit up, Chen Yang's fingers paused for a second.
His first reaction was that this map was very bright.
Although there was no sky above, and it looked like it was underground, the lighting didn't feel oppressive; it was similar to the maps in other modes of crossfire.
The entire scene lacked the dark and terrifying feeling of the zombie mode in CSOL.
The background music in the headphones wasn't the low moaning found in horror movies, but just normal soundtrack music, without any attempt to scare the players.
Chen Yang muttered to himself, nodding.
"The graphics are so bright, not bad, it doesn't look that scary."
"I like this design."
"I was actually going to say, if I entered the game and the screen was just pitch black and unreadable again, I would have just quit."
While speaking, he first switched to an M4A1, ran around with a bunch of people, and finally jumped onto a high platform.
This high platform had a wide field of view, allowing him to see quite far into the surroundings.
Several people were already crouching on it, with their guns aimed at the vast open space below.
To get onto this high platform, one had to jump over several wooden crates, and further back, there was a recessed platform that required a couple more jumps, but Chen Yang didn't go there.
Like the others beside him, he sprayed graffiti on the platform.
Soon, the countdown ended.
Right in front of him, a character not far away suddenly turned into a zombie.
That zombie was blood-red all over, with long claws on its hands, and its body was a size larger than the normal characters. After a moment of hesitation, it charged directly at the crowd.
It was quite fast.
Chen Yang subconsciously opened fire frantically along with his teammates beside him.
Bullets hit the zombie, slowing it down a bit, but it kept charging forward before being quickly forced to retreat by the gunfire.
During this process, Chen Yang's hands never stopped, firing wildly.
Originally, he thought he would only get points for killing the zombie.
But he didn't expect that as he shot, the score bar on the right side of the screen started rising crazily.
Every time a shot landed, the score went up a notch. One hundred. One hundred. One hundred.
When the score accumulated to one thousand points, a "kill" icon and sound effect popped up in the center of the screen. He gained one point.
That kill sound effect was exactly the same as in Team Deathmatch. Deep. Extremely satisfying. The feedback was maxed out.
Chen Yang's fingers paused again, and he instantly understood this point. His face showed surprise; it wasn't just killing the zombie that counted for points, dealing damage counted too!
Every shot that hit provided feedback!
He remembered that in CSOL's zombie mode, even if you dealt damage for a long time, if someone else came by and finished off the low-health enemy with two shots, the points were theirs. This crossfire design was great; as long as you dealt damage, it counted!
In a short time, while focusing fire to kill the zombie in front of him, two kill icons had already appeared on his screen.
Moreover, during this process, Chen Yang also noticed that when a zombie was about to die, it would turn red, indicating it didn't have much health left. At this moment, holding down the left mouse button had a high probability of directly killing it.
"Interesting."
Chen Yang reloaded his weapon while re-aiming his gun.
"It's not just kills that count for points; hitting the target counts too."
"And the way these points jump up is just so satisfying."
"Just now, when that zombie turned red, several people jumped down to chase and kill it, but instead, the zombie ran away while the people chased it."
"Interesting, very interesting."
He bit his lip and aimed his crosshair at the next zombie rushing over, while the score on the left side of the screen continued to rise crazily.
After defending the platform and repelling several waves of zombies, Chen Yang's M4A1 was out of ammo, and he had started using his pistol. Just then, he saw a supply crate icon appear on the map.
The supply crate was in the center of the open space not far below the high platform, with no zombies around it yet.
Chen Yang didn't hesitate; he jumped straight down from the high platform with his pistol in hand.
Just as he ran to the supply crate and picked it up, he turned his head and saw a zombie rush out from the corner of the pyramid, right behind him.
It was face-to-face distance.
The zombie's claws swung past, almost grazing his screen, and the whole screen shook.
Fortunately, what he picked up was an ammo supply, and his bullets were fully replenished.
Chen Yang backed away while firing frantically.
The adrenaline was fully maxed out.
The muzzle flash exploded continuously in the center of the screen, bullets slammed into the zombie's chest one by one, and the score jumped violently.
One hundred, two hundred, one thousand points. Another kill icon popped up.
Just as Chen Yang was reloading, that zombie finally rushed up, almost infecting him.
But just at that moment, a deafening blast rang in Chen Yang's ears. Bang! It was the sound of a Barrett.
The next second, the zombie in front of him didn't turn red; it was killed instantly, and an icon appeared on the screen showing someone else had killed it with a Barrett.
Chen Yang was stunned for a moment. Does the Barrett deal that much damage to zombies?
Before he could react, a zombie snuck up behind him and scratched him in a surprise attack, turning him into a red Biohazard Ghost.
Biohazard Ghost was the official name for the zombies in this mode.
The next moment, Chen Yang immediately changed his demeanor, controlling his zombie self and starting to hunt down the teammates who had fought alongside him just moments ago.
The first round quickly ended with the zombies' victory.
Chen Yang leaned back in his chair and flexed his fingers. After the second round started, he immediately swapped out the Barrett sniper rifle from his inventory.
He hadn't bought this gun long ago, it still had over twenty days of duration left, and he had practiced with it for quite a while in Team Deathmatch before.
He wanted to see exactly how much damage the Barrett could deal in Zombie Mode.
... Half a minute later. Still on that same high platform.
He set up the Barrett's muzzle and aimed at a zombie jumping towards him from a distance.
He held his breath. His finger pulled the left trigger. Bang!
The gunshot exploded in his headphones, the bullet hit the zombie square in the head, and the opponent was killed instantly on the spot; the kill icon popped up immediately.
The opponent didn't even turn red before being taken out by his shot.
However, a full-health zombie couldn't be killed by a single Barrett shot, but it was just a matter of a few more shots.
Chen Yang leaned back and let out a long sigh of relief. "Satisfying." "This is just too satisfying."
Several players nearby who were playing other games turned their heads to look at him, then turned back.
Chen Yang didn't notice at all; his eyes were only on the kill icon popping up in the center of the screen. Now his score was ranked first!
A Barrett shot hitting a zombie, even if it didn't kill, would cause the score to jump up a significant chunk. Not to mention his sniping skills were already quite good.
Chen Yang had already decided that for the next few rounds, he would only use the Barrett cannon!
Bang. Another zombie was killed in mid-air while jumping. The kill icon popped up, feeling absolutely exhilarating.
Meanwhile, just as Chen Yang was engrossed in Zombie Mode, Old Chu on the other side patted him on the shoulder.
"Look at these graphics, it's top-tier, the immersion is so strong."
On Old Chu's screen was the gameplay of alliance of valiant arms.
The graphics were indeed more than a grade better than crossfire; the lighting effects and scene details were quite spot on, with smoke rising from bullet holes on the walls and distant buildings reflecting the sunlight.
"There aren't many people now, hurry and log in, the queue isn't that long anymore."
Chen Yang turned his head to look. The graphics of alliance of valiant arms were indeed good, but he just replied perfunctorily. "The graphics are nice."
Then he turned back and continued to hold the Barrett, looking for the next target.
Old Chu shook his head. "Wait until you play it for a while, then you'll know how fun alliance of valiant arms is."
He had just passed the novice training and just joined a standard team match, not even having fired many shots.
But looking at these graphics, plus the previous hype from media and streamers, Old Chu had already concluded that this game must be very fun.
The next moment, he also charged towards the opposite side with his gun.
