188: Chapter 185 Marketing my ass!

There were actually quite a few dishes on the Western buffet side, and even more were laid out in the open.

Fruits, drinks, salads, desserts, pasta, bread, steaks, sandwiches, chicken cutlets, and so on.

Since Luke dared to charge a hundred dollars and it was located in Chinatown, while it was called high-end, it was actually a mid-range strategy.

Not only was it all-you-can-eat, but there were all kinds of Western food varieties, so Luke was very confused about what it meant for everything to be empty.

He had only been standing outside for an hour; before he came out, the ingredients in the shop were clearly fully stocked.

The speed at which guests enjoyed the food shouldn't have been able to keep up with the speed at which they replenished the dishes.

However, as he walked in, Luke was immediately stunned. What met his eyes were indeed many places that were completely empty.

Many guests were even shaking their heads in disappointment while picking out food; clearly, many guests hadn't managed to eat much at all.

Seeing this scene, a surge of anger rushed to Luke's head.

"Shit! A bunch of bastards! Getting paid such high salaries and doing nothing!"

Luke was extremely angry and stormed toward the back kitchen.

As soon as he pushed open the kitchen door, all sorts of noisy and anxious sounds flooded into his ears.

The scene of slacking off he had expected didn't happen; instead, it was a scene of frantic activity. People were constantly weaving through the kitchen, already so busy they were in a scramble, nearly reaching a point of madness.

Many chefs and assistants looked as if they wished they had eight arms.

"Steak! The steak is gone again! Why isn't the steak ready yet?"

"What do you mean it's not ready? Dammit, I just finished ten portions five minutes ago. Weren't they just sent out?"

"But they were already gone three minutes ago. Hurry up, the customers out front are getting impatient!"

"Where's the chicken? Is the chicken ready? What are you guys in the kitchen doing? Why hasn't the chicken come out yet?"

"The lamb chops are gone too!"

"And the pork chops! The pork chops are gone again!"

"The shrimp is gone too!"

"Steak, lamb chops, pork chops, chicken, and fish—basically all kinds of meat are almost sold out!!! The meat section has completely fallen! Oh God, someone save us!"

"Kitchen! Kitchen! What's going on? The ingredient area is almost empty. Why haven't you served the dishes yet?"

Luke still couldn't help but shout loudly.

However, no one in the kitchen paid him any mind. They were all busy to the point of madness; they didn't care if he was the boss or not. Anyway, they weren't being lazy.

But a waiter who had completely run out of things to do pulled on Luke.

Luke looked suspicious, and then he saw the employee pointing in a certain direction.

His gaze followed the direction, and in an instant, he felt his scalp go numb.

God! What was he looking at?

A demon?

Had Satan specifically sent him to punish him?

He saw that on a table not far away, stacks of empty plates were piled up like a mountain. Amidst these mountain ranges of plates, a head was constantly bobbing up and down, and from time to time, the sounds of immediate chewing and the crunching of bones could be heard.

That scene and those ear-piercing sounds made Luke's blood pressure soar.

"Boss, we've cleared the plates seven times already. This is the eighth time they've been stacked this high. But Boss, your marketing strategy is truly brilliant. Some customers in the shop have actually stopped eating and are just watching this guest eat."

The waiter said with a chuckle, his eyes filled with admiration as he looked at the boss.

Marketing? Marketing my ass!

What kind of shop was this?

A Western buffet! A buffet!

What did it mean for a competitive eater to appear? Does this mean attracting other competitive eaters to come and challenge?

Then why the hell would he even open a buffet restaurant!

Luke was so angry his blood pressure rose, but he couldn't drive the customer away.

Because a high price naturally came with high-priced logic. First of all, he had no time limit here; one could completely eat from morning until closing.

As long as you could maintain your Face, after all, the style here was quite high-class.

However, all of this was shattered starting today. Luke felt that he wouldn't even have to wait until closing; this person would eat his shop into bankruptcy.

The other party's physique, which didn't seem particularly exaggerated, seemed to hide a prehistoric Vicious Beast at this moment, crazily devouring all the food.

This person didn't even chew the arm-sized Tomahawk Steaks more than a few times; after a few random bites, he just wolfed them down.

As for those bones, he sucked on them fiercely, sucking until not a bit of marrow remained. Even the meat scraps on the surface of the bones were shaved clean by his teeth, making them as smooth as if they had been polished.

As for the smaller steaks, pork chops, and lamb chops, they were finished in two or three bites. Without even pausing to savor them, he began to pounce on the nearby shrimp and crabs.

Then came the crunching sound, like chewing on glass shards, as he ground the shells and meat into fine pieces all at once and swallowed them.

Luke held his head in his hands and then slowly slid them down, pulling his Face long. His hair stood on end.

Was this freaking Hulk plus Wolverine? A stomach comparable to a giant beast plus alloy steel teeth?

Was this person sure he wasn't a Vicious Beast in human skin?

Could this person have been hired by that Chinese Buffet Restaurant across the street?

Afraid his life was too comfortable, they wanted his life!

Luke was already close to tears, his Face turning green.

There was no need to think about it; these spectating guests would definitely post to YouTube after filming. Then it would attract some thrill-seekers to come and challenge.

Don't doubt the competitive eaters in America; they know very well how to chase clout.

Boss Luke could already imagine that tomorrow, all sorts of competitive eaters would be livestreaming to challenge the record of the person in the video.

Now Luke finally understood why that bastard across the street had shown that kind of expression.

"Bastard! Bastard! This is unfair competition, using unconventional means to torture a competitor—it's a crime! I'm going to complain about him!"

Luke raged impotently in his heart.

But it was of no use. He could only watch as time ticked toward ten o'clock, which was when their shop closed.

At this moment, he was very glad for the time he had originally set. Now, the week's worth of ingredients in the shop's cold storage had hit rock bottom.

Without thinking much, he hurried over to this Mr. 23.

Li Changsheng had actually almost finished eating, about ninety percent full. He felt he could still eat a bit more, but seeing this white boss standing in front of him, he was also a bit frustrated.

"Does the boss mind extending for ten minutes? I'm willing to pay an extra ten dollars," Li Changsheng inquired.

Luke spoke with righteous indignation, not wanting to take any small advantages at all: "According to US labor laws, after the specified period, time cannot be extended without reason, harming the interests of the laborers. I am a US citizen who strictly abides by the law. Sir, please head back. Next time... uh... next time go across the street."

In the past, he always thought about exploiting his employees' labor, but at this moment, he resolutely put a stop to such behavior.

He only wanted to drive the guy in front of him away as quickly as possible. Next time... there would be no next time.

"Across the street? Uh, I've already eaten there. Their boss recommended I come to your place. The taste is indeed not bad, a bit better than over there. I'll come again next time."

Saying this, Li Changsheng stood up with a smile and even gave the white boss a high-five, leaving Boss Luke standing there with a dazed expression.
