221: Chapter 218 Going Mad
"How many people?"
Zhou Guoli had been extremely anxious; after all, from the surveillance feed, a massive crowd of people was swarming toward the central villa from all directions.
Unexpectedly, Li Changsheng was not in the slightest bit hurried. Instead, he strolled to the side, picked a regular cigarette from a shelf that was still relatively intact, then, with it hanging from his lips, leisurely fished a lighter out of a corpse's pocket and lit it himself.
His tone was flat, merely asking for a simple number.
Watching this scene, Zhou Guoli was somewhat dazed, blankly saying, "No less than a hundred."
"Brother Li, if you need my men to help now, it is possible. I can break the rules and intervene to help you once!"
Watching the sea of people already storming into the villa, Zhou Guoli felt his voice turn raspy.
Saying this was putting him under immense pressure.
It was true they were special operations personnel with strength far exceeding ordinary combat units and regular armies, but with their current limited manpower, it was impossible to engage in a firefight with over a hundred people without casualties.
The critical issue was that if not handled well, it would cause endless trouble.
"No need. Since we agreed, I won't trouble you. Tell me where they are now."
"The first floor, they are about to reach the second floor!"
Upon hearing this, Li Changsheng nodded.
Then, Zhou Guoli saw Li Changsheng on the screen remaining indifferent, merely strolling leisurely around the recreation room, admiring the layout.
"Is this Li Changsheng waiting to die?!"
Veins on Zhou Guoli's forehead pulsed faintly; the sight made his blood boil.
"Captain Zhou, do we really not need to help him?" a team member nearby frowned and asked.
"Help? With our lives?" Zhou Guoli glared fiercely at him. "Looking at his posture, he's just waiting to die!"
Indeed, Li Changsheng's current demeanor did not look like he was trying to escape at all; instead, it looked like he was waiting for the final moment before death.
"Huh, he seems to be picking something up!"
Following a technician's exclamation of surprise, everyone noticed that Li Changsheng was indeed bending down somewhere to pick something up.
"It's gravel from the decorative planter. What is he doing?"
Someone was completely unable to understand what kind of prayer method this was.
Everyone was also completely confused, having no idea what Li Changsheng was doing.
They saw Li Changsheng pick out some pebbles, then pick up a few more things from the ground, before leisurely making his way to the door.
With a flick of his wrist, a scepter was suddenly whipped out from his sleeve.
Then, he stood there leaning on the scepter with both hands, even using his hand to smooth out his hair, looking completely calm and composed.
"Is this kid trying to die with some dignity?"
Watching the large group of people already storming into the third-floor hallway, he looked away.
A dead man; in his view, there was no need to keep watching.
"Let's go, he has no value."
Sighing softly, Zhou Guoli slumped powerlessly into his seat.
Li Changsheng was a civilian expert he thought highly of. Even if he couldn't be recruited into the organization in the future, building a good relationship could potentially be useful someday.
But that depended on a living Li Changsheng; dead men had no value.
Upon hearing this, the driver hesitated for a moment before starting the car. With a slight roar of the engine, the van began to slowly move away along the coastal highway.
The inside of the car was dead silent; no one spoke, and the atmosphere was extremely heavy.
"Sigh, Captain Zhou, don't be sad. At the very least, Brother Li cleaned up some tumors; he died for a worthy cause."
Zhang Zijing was also sitting in the car, comforting Zhou Guoli.
"I'm not sad; I'm disappointed."
Zhou Guoli lay back in his seat, truly disappointed.
In his heart, he held Li Changsheng in high regard. To still encounter such a young Traditional Martial Arts expert in today's society was not easy—it was extremely rare.
Although they had only exchanged blows once, he could be certain that this Li Changsheng was definitely an Internal Energy expert.
At such a young age, if given time, he might even reach the height of those modern-era martial arts Grandmasters.
Who would have thought that this person wouldn't be very smart and would fall into the common pitfalls of young martial artists.
The car drove slowly, not moving fast, as there was quite a lot of equipment and people inside.
Just like everyone in the car, the mood was very low.
However, no one noticed that the mouths of the two technicians had been hanging open the whole time, never closing.
"Hey, why are you two still staring? Shift's over."
A combatant chuckled and nudged his technical colleague with his elbow.
His eyes glanced at the screen, and the next moment...
"Holy shit!"
"Jiang Goudan! I'll screw your Immortal ancestors, what are you howling about?!"
Hearing this abrupt exclamation, Zhou Guoli kicked the team member in front.
The man lurched forward and came back to his senses.
With a face full of shock and even some terror, he looked back at Zhou Guoli, then immediately back at the screen, doing this several times.
Finally, he stammered, "Captain, he's... he's... he's gone on a killing frenzy!"
"Speak like a human!"
"It's a killing frenzy inside! That guy... uh, no, it's Brother Li, he's gone on a killing frenzy!"
Upon hearing this, the car was silent for a moment.
Zhou Guoli lowered his head, wearing a contemplative look, as if pondering an unsolved mystery of the world.
"Make room for me, ouch!~"
Zhou Guoli had just prepared to stand up and move to the front, but because the car was in motion, he bumped himself hard.
"Stop the car, stop the car!"
The car slowly came to a halt, and Zhou Guoli quickly moved to the front position, squinting his eyes to look at the technician's laptop screen.
At just one glance, he was stunned, then immediately rubbed his eyes in disbelief and looked again—it was still the same.
"Is this the surveillance of that villa?" Zhou Guoli asked the technician.
"Yes."
"Is this person Li Changsheng?"
"Yes! It's him, Captain Zhou, you didn't see just how powerful this Li Changsheng is..."
The technician was now like a little fanboy of Li Changsheng, opening his mouth to describe the scene he had witnessed.
"Stop!"
Zhou Guoli waved his hand and snatched the headset directly from the technician's ears.
Nonsense, there was no need for him to explain now.
One look at the surveillance showed just how crazy the situation was.
From camera No. 1 in the third-floor hallway to camera No. 2 at the end of the hallway, the nearly fifty-meter corridor was littered with corpses, with Gang members in black clothes and purple clothes everywhere.
Among them, those in black clothes were people from the Vagos Gang, and those in small purple suits were from the Aztec Gang. Both were Mexican Gangs, one from East Mexico, one from West Mexico.
Both Gangs had long colluded and mixed together here in Country M, and having worked here for many years, Zhou Guoli knew very well what clothes they were accustomed to wearing.
At this moment, the battle in the footage was still continuing. In the footage, Li Changsheng was hiding by the main door as cover, constantly throwing something out; every time his arm flicked, someone would fall to the ground.
When the Gang members in the hallway became sparse and began to retreat to the stairwell in fear, he quickly dashed out of the doorway and charged out, holding a steel plate in one hand.
