35: Chapter 35 Please Come With Us

"This young man runs way too fast!"

By this time, quite a few elderly men and women had gathered around. They were the ones who had heard the shouting and watched the whole thing from start to finish, but unfortunately, their age prevented them from keeping up.

"It's not just running fast; this young man must know Kung Fu. Look at the steam rising off him—he's clearly no ordinary person."

Several elderly men marveled at the steam still rising from Li Changsheng's body.

Li Changsheng smiled awkwardly at the elders, feeling a bit self-conscious being watched by such a crowd.

Meanwhile, the driver of the motorcycle had regained consciousness. Seeing the crowd surrounding Li Changsheng, his eyes darted around, and he quickly shook his accomplice next to him.

"Dongzi, wake up! We need to get out of here!"

"Dongzi?"

After shaking him, the leader felt something was wrong. 'Little brother, what's going on with you?'

Seeing this, he shook his head, deciding he couldn't be bothered with his partner and should just save himself first.

He stealthily stood up and started creeping toward the motorcycle.

But before he could get far, a pair of legs appeared in front of him.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Hearing this, the driver looked up and nearly wet himself; it was the same kid from before.

Having witnessed Li Changsheng's exaggerated movements earlier, he now felt a natural fear toward him. This was a ruthless person he couldn't afford to provoke.

"Brother, I... I just wanted to stretch my legs."

Before Li Changsheng could say anything, a chuckle came from nearby. "If you want to stretch, come back to the station and stretch with me."

Two police officers, somewhat drenched in sweat, walked over.

The one who had just spoken was Police Officer Zhang Wei. The other, tall and thin, was his colleague. They had been patrolling the area and happened to witness the scene.

They had actually been quite close, but their speed was too slow, and Li Changsheng hadn't even noticed them at the time.

"Sir, was that Qigong just now?"

Zhang Wei looked at Li Changsheng with curiosity. He had seen everything, and he was absolutely stunned by Li Changsheng's exaggerated speed and that clean, powerful punch.

Actually, compared to the explosive power of the Half-Step Crushing Fist, the steam rising from his skin seemed to have more visual impact.

After all, it was summer. No one had ever seen someone sweating and steaming like a steam engine in the heat of summer.

"It's not Qigong, just ordinary Kung Fu. I just practice it casually."

Li Changsheng felt he needed to clarify; Traditional Martial Arts and Qigong should not be lumped together.

He was merely using the Eight Brocades' method of Using Qi to guide the body for internal and external circulation. Like a valve, his pores had opened because he was too hot, naturally releasing heat to cool down.

It sounded simple, but reaching this level was actually very difficult. Being able to practice the Eight Brocades to the point of mental intent meant it had been integrated into the very marrow of one's bones. Very few people today could reach this stage.

"How can ordinary Kung Fu be this powerful? I went to the Hongyi Martial Arts Gym to learn Wing Chun, and they couldn't do what you do."

"Exactly, your speed just now was too fast, even faster than the city's track and field team members I've seen. The two of us were sprinting for our lives, but you still left us in the dust. You're amazing!"

As he spoke, the tall, thin officer gave Li Changsheng a thumbs up, though he clearly didn't agree with the claim that it wasn't Qigong.

Li Changsheng could only respond with a silent, wry smile.

The two officers took control of the suspects. Zhang Wei began calling the station while the other officer started checking the suspects' condition.

"Wait, Wei-ge, call an ambulance first! This suspect seems to have lost consciousness!"

The suspect who had been on the back of the bike was still unconscious. When they took off his helmet, there was no blood.

Li Changsheng figured he was just out cold from the impact and wasn't worried. He was very confident in his own strike.

It wasn't that he could control it with pinpoint precision, but rather that he knew his own limits.

With the suspect wearing a helmet with padding, Li Changsheng—who had only just mastered Visible Power—couldn't possibly cause real damage through the helmet. At most, it was a slight concussion.

If it had been Hidden Power, this man would be dead by now.

In less than ten minutes, several police cars and an ambulance arrived at the scene.

The unconscious suspect was taken away by the medics, while the other was pushed into a police car.

Director Lu had also come along today. He seemed very pleased as he patted Zhang Wei and his colleague on the shoulders and laughed, "Not bad! I haven't seen you two in a few days, and now you're catching muggers with your bare hands!"

Zhang Wei rubbed his nose awkwardly and pointed at Li Changsheng. "Uh, Director, this was all thanks to this gentleman who practices Kung Fu. He caught up to the two fleeing muggers and took them down with a single violent punch. It was dangerous, but the results were remarkable."

"Knows Kung Fu?"

Hearing this, Director Lu's eyes lit up, and he immediately began sizing Li Changsheng up.

"Uh, sir, how about this? Since we'll need your cooperation for a statement anyway, why don't you and this lady come back to have some tea and sit for a while?"

Director Lu spoke with a sincere, smiling attitude.

Hearing this, Li Changsheng naturally had no reason to refuse. Since he had helped, giving a statement was a necessary procedure, though he felt the Director seemed very interested in him.

And so, Li Changsheng, the elderly woman, the evidence, and even the motorcycle were all packed up and taken to the police station.

The Nanshan Police Station wasn't far. Without traffic, it would only take a few minutes, but even with the work-hour rush, they arrived in about fifteen minutes.

Upon entering the station, Li Changsheng was taken to give his statement. It was nothing more than a detailed description of what happened, followed by leaving his name and contact number.

Seeing this finished, Li Changsheng prepared to get up and leave. Although this was an act of bravery, there wasn't necessarily a reward, and he was currently anxious to go back and verify the sensation of Visible Power.

However, the officer in charge of the statement told him to wait a moment, saying the Director had something to discuss with him.

The Director has something?

Li Changsheng felt suspicious.

But before long, as expected, the slightly pudgy Director he had seen earlier walked in.

"Mr. Li, right? I'm Lu Feiming, the Director of the Nanshan Police Station. It's like this—I heard you know Kung Fu? Is it the Traditional Martial Arts kind?"

Hmm?

Li Changsheng became even more uncertain. Surely this Director couldn't be interested in Traditional Martial Arts?

Despite his doubts, Li Changsheng nodded truthfully.

"Yes, I know a bit of Traditional Martial Arts. I've practiced for ten years."

Having told this lie so many times, Li Changsheng now believed it himself—that he had practiced Traditional Martial Arts for ten years.

"Oh, then you must be an expert in this field!"

Hearing this, Lu Feiming's eyes lit up, which made Li Changsheng even more puzzled.

"Is there something I can help with?"

"It's like this, Mr. Li. We have a few cases right now that really need a professional to analyze them. If it's not too much trouble, could you..."

Lu Feiming asked tentatively.

"Cases?"

Li Changsheng was stunned. What kind of cases could possibly involve Chinese Martial Arts these days?
