117: Chapter 117 Thai Hot Pants!

After finishing the MV with Ruan Xingyu, Lin Chuyan had to leave Beijing again.

As Wu Yue put it, he was finally starting to look like an artist and getting busy.

Two things, or perhaps just one thing.

First, going to Guixiang to shoot the endorsement for Chouchou Luosifen. This was basically negotiated before the New Year. As Lin Chuyan's fame grew, the brand became the anxious one and couldn't wait to sign the contract.

Previously, Wu Yue had quoted them 800,000 for 1 year and 2 million for 2 years.

Wu Yue's exact words were: "A verbal contract is still a contract. We are decent people. Since they valued us back then, we shouldn't back out or raise the price just because of a little money. 2 million is fine."

The second thing was also an endorsement.

Under Wu Yue's efforts, Jingjie Purified Water finally willingly signed the contract.

Jingjie is a true leading brand in tea drinks, fruit juices, carbonated drinks, functional drinks, etc. Their goal in entering the purified water market was clear: targeting the youth market.

Initially, Jingjie only wanted Lin Chuyan's song; there was no room for him as an endorser. After all, while Lin Chuyan looked good, he had plenty of Haters, and there were no shortage of more suitable candidates.

In fact, as soon as the news about looking for an endorser came out, they didn't even need to look; entertainment companies came to offer their artists—all young idols with good images. What did Lin Chuyan have to compare with them?

However, that was the problem.

Jingjie's desire for the song "I Am a Fish"... let's put it this way, it was the same mentality Director Li Li had when she wanted "the flower that blooms only for itself" a while ago.

No other reason, it was just too suitable.

Catchy melody, singable, a hit single, and the lyrics were apt.

However, Wu Yue wouldn't budge—you want the song, fine, but you have to take the person too.

He didn't have any deep thoughts; frankly, Wu Yue was gambling.

If he lost, it was just the copyright of one song; they didn't care about that money. If he won, it would be a milestone for Lin Chuyan's endorsements, definitely a huge leap.

One side only wanted the song, the other insisted on including the person, so the matter was put on hold.

Jingjie thought it was simple. They were trying to open up the youth market; they couldn't hire an endorser who would offend young people. Did Lin Chuyan really have no self-awareness?

Seeing Wu Yue wouldn't budge, Jingjie even started looking for other songs.

But as time passed—and it hadn't been long—how did it feel like Lin Chuyan's status and reputation were rising so fast?

"ambush from ten sides" scolding the paparazzi was satisfying → "rebirth" album rating 9.0 → "the flower that blooms only for itself" was a widely acclaimed ending song for a Spring Festival Movie Season film → "every day" partnered with Ruan Xingyu, exclusive to Douyin.

So, Jingjie did another market research and found that this Lin Chuyan was really not simple.

He had a lot of Haters, that's for sure. But he also had quite a few fans? Besides fans, passersby didn't have a bad impression of him. Especially young people, they even thought he was quite interesting?

How did he do it?

Then they found out this kid was different from other artists in the entertainment industry; his persona was unique.

On Weibo, he could speak his mind, say whatever he wanted, scold whoever he wanted...

Even so, besides Haters, no one actually scolded him for having no class. Because while this kid cursed, he didn't use a single dirty word...

Besides that, he didn't seem to do much, but he was always trending, which was simply unreasonable.

Compared to when he first debuted, it seemed like his traffic and topics were back, and many people's evaluations of him were leaning positive?

Considering everything, the Jingjie marketing and planning departments actually felt that Lin Chuyan was a good candidate...

And so, Jingjie found Wu Yue again, and both sides renegotiated.

The final price was 4 million for 2 years, double what Chouchou offered.

Wu Yue was very satisfied. The price was secondary; being able to land a big brand like Jingjie was a real boost to his status.

That was enough.

"Chouchou" arranged star-rated hotels for Lin Chuyan, Wu Yue, and Xia Zhi. The first day, they were taken to visit the factory to learn about food safety, hygiene, and the brand's origin and philosophy.

The second day, they started filming commercials without stopping.

The makeup artist was a local friend Xia Zhi contacted, and the costs were covered by "Chouchou".

The filming process was unexpectedly simple, just posing and saying the Lines.

Eating noodles, enjoying expressions, saying Lines... seemed like a lot of videos and photos, but it was done in a day.

During the process, Lin Chuyan even improvised: "If you like eating Chouchou Luosifen like I do, then I think this behavior is really... Too Cool!"

Well, if the brand wanted to use it, they could.

After resting for a day, they flew from Guixiang to Hangzhou. The Jingjie commercial filming was about the same, the only difference was the style was fresher.

Because they were targeting the youth market, Jingjie found a college town to film, which attracted many students to watch, causing the news to spread quickly on Weibo.

"Lin Chuyan is filming an ad at our school right now! Didn't notice what brand! Seems to be some bottled water?"

"Fake, right? How could any advertiser want to hire him? Are they crazy? Lin the Dog has a pile of black history."

"Are you living under a rock? That black history was from how long ago? You haven't listened to a single song Lin Chuyan released from last year until now?"

"Even without mentioning the black history, there are tons of Haters. Which advertiser is so thick-headed to walk into the line of fire?"

"It's true, he's still at school right now. Damn, this kid is actually better looking than me."

"Laughing to death, wouldn't it be some sketchy product? It's not impossible for a black-hearted merchant to cooperate with a rotten artist to scam money."

However, within two days, both brands acted as if they had agreed, and successively announced it on Weibo.

Chouchou Luosifen:

"#Lin Chuyan endorses Chouchou Luosifen# Unafraid of ambush from ten sides, shouting happiness! He is an actor, a Singer, and an idol of the new generation who combines strength and laughter! Welcome Lin Chuyan as the Chouchou brand ambassador! Come and slurp Chouchou Luosifen with Lin Chuyan!"

That wasn't all. Along with the copy, there was a video. Chouchou really used his ad line. The end of the video was exactly that improvised line...

"Holy crap, 'an idol of the new generation who combines strength and laughter'... I don't know why that sounds like an insult."

"What the hell is 'Too Cool'? Is it spicier than 'Devil Spicy'?"

"Support Lin Chuyan, support Chouchou Luosifen! You two are really a match, hahaha!"

"What brand is Chouchou? Never heard of it, is it good?"

"To the one above, local certified super delicious, but the brand isn't very famous because they didn't market it well. Finally, they got it right this time."

"Good, good, birds of a feather flock together, ordering now!"

However, it wasn't over yet. Many people found that the Weibo splash screen ad was also Lin Chuyan, but for another brand.

Jingjie Purified Water also announced:

"We are honored to announce that Lin Chuyan has officially become the brand ambassador for Jingjie Purified Water! Purity is not only the essence of water but also an attitude towards life. With his natural and authentic image, Lin Chuyan perfectly interprets the pure philosophy of Jingjie Purified Water. He conveys the power of purity with his actions; we give back to every bit of passion with purity. Jingjie Purified Water, together with Lin Chuyan, invites you to share a pure life. #Lin Chuyan endorses Jingjie Purified Water#"

The post also had a video, but it was different from the funny Chouchou Luosifen video.

The video started with the intro of "I Am a Fish," that series of sounds like fish blowing bubbles in the water, creating a dreamy atmosphere, immediately making people think of water.

Lin Chuyan was in a clean, crisp white shirt, looking young and energetic. The whole video was filmed so freshly and high-end, forming a sharp contrast with Chouchou Luosifen...

"Wait, two brands announcing Lin Chuyan on the same day??? Is this kid this popular now??? How come I didn't know???"

"Why is there such a big difference between Chouchou and Jingjie, but Lin Chuyan looks so suitable in both? Is this the damn plasticity?"

"I'm going to die laughing at Jingjie's copy, 'Lin the Dog's natural and authentic image, conveys the power of purity with actions, hahaha!"

"Wait, I can understand Chouchou, it's not a big brand, but this is Jingjie! Their tea drink ambassador is Feng Liqian! Why give the purified water endorsement to Lin Chuyan???"

"To the one above, Feng Liqian is old, he's in his thirties, right? The Feng era is dead, the Lin era is here! Hahahaha!"

"Feng Liqian's movie just flopped, I want to see when they change the ambassador, hehe."

Passersby were quite calm, but looking at these two hot searches hanging on Weibo at the same time, they couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

#Lin Chuyan endorses Chouchou Luosifen#

#Lin Chuyan endorses Jingjie Purified Water#

Confused, lost.

Aren't these two endorsements a bit too different? One is smelly, one is pure, and yet they both chose Lin Chuyan, and both felt he fit their brand image?

Since when did this world become this unrecognizable?

Lin Chuyan didn't speak, just felt that making money was a bit too easy. In just these few days, 6 million in hand.

No wonder, no wonder.

He was still working hard, down-to-earth. If it were some traffic artists who specialized in making money, would they still have the heart to ponder Singing Ability and acting skills?
