5: I will respect the strong, and the weak will respect me.
Fortunately, things were not as Ronan had imagined.
Evil Axe was short, but he moved with exceptional agility, leaping onto the Bear Goblin's thick neck in the blink of an eye.
The Corrosive Arrow fired by Hawkeye didn't pierce the flesh; instead, it was caught by the thick eyelids.
The corrosive power on the arrowhead was blocked, rendering it completely ineffective.
Evil Axe wasn't surprised to see the arrow get caught.
His own full-strength blow could only leave a faint white mark; how could that weakling elf's arrow break through its defense so easily?
So, he exerted force with his legs, gripping the Bear Goblin's neck, and flipped himself over to ride on its head.
He quickly stowed his twin axes, grabbed the arrow with both hands, and with his blood energy surging, he stabbed it into the Bear Goblin's left eye with all his might.
"Crack!"
The wooden shaft of the arrow couldn't withstand the force and snapped.
Hawkeye was about to curse him for not knowing how to use finesse, but Evil Axe spoke first.
"You useless elf! Your arrow is even more useless than you! I haven't even used my full strength, and it shattered like this!"
This preemptive strike of shifting the blame completely stunned Hawkeye, leaving him speechless for a long moment.
Seeing this, Ronan finally understood just how high the Bear Goblin's Physical Resistance was.
Even a blinded left eye had such defense; other parts of its body would surely be even tougher.
No wonder Shield Mountain and Evil Axe had been fighting it for so long without leaving a single wound.
In that case, it was time to test its Magic Resistance.
Ronan extended his index finger and controlled his Spiritual Power, using only a third of it to fuel the magic construct of the "Scorching Ray."
The power of the Ray produced by this amount of Spiritual Power was roughly half of what he had used to kill the Goblin earlier.
As a probing attack, it should be enough.
Whoosh.
A crimson Ray shot from Ronan's fingertip, striking the Bear Goblin's back.
The Bear Goblin was busy trying to shake off the annoying bug riding on its head.
Suddenly, it felt a wave of heat on its back, followed by a surge of intense pain that swept through its entire body.
It roared in anger but couldn't reach the wound; it felt as though a pool of lava from hell had dripped onto its back.
Unable to bear the pain, the Bear Goblin ignored Evil Axe on its head and began rolling on the ground.
Evil Axe was spun around until he was dizzy, but his legs remained clamped around the Bear Goblin's neck, keeping him firmly in place.
"It's working! Evil Axe, attack the back!" Shield Mountain shouted in delight, quickly reminding Evil Axe.
"Use my arrowhead, Dwarf!"
Hawkeye drew his bow and released an arrow; in less than a second, another streak of dark light shot toward the Bear Goblin.
The dark light landed precisely on the Bear Goblin's left eye once again.
At this distance, achieving a hundred percent accuracy was child's play for a Ranger.
"Be gentle this time!"
After the arrow hit, Hawkeye didn't forget to add a reminder.
"Do I need you to remind me? Who the @#%# do you think you are..."
Slang and insults for elves flowed from Evil Axe's mouth without any hesitation or bottleneck.
While cursing Hawkeye, he pulled out the dark arrowhead with force, no longer obsessed with riding the Bear Goblin's head, and instead kicked off, leaping into the air.
Then, holding the arrow downward with both hands, he aimed straight for the circular wound on the Bear Goblin's back.
This was the wound burned by the Ray, and so far, it was the only wound on the Bear Goblin's entire body.
Carried by immense force, the dark arrowhead stabbed ruthlessly into the already compromised wound.
For a Bear Goblin standing four meters tall and covered in thick muscle, even if the arrowhead sank in completely, it would only cause some muscle tears and tissue damage.
What could truly finish off the Bear Goblin was the corrosive power on the arrowhead.
Once the corrosive power entered the Bear Goblin's body, it would spread through the blood, and in moments, it would corrode vital organs, the central nervous system, and even the entire brain.
After Evil Axe inserted the arrowhead, Shield Mountain and Hawkeye visibly relaxed.
The two of them glanced at each other, the same thought occurring to them: It's in the bag.
Time slowly passed.
The Bear Goblin's rolling on the ground gradually slowed down... however, it showed no signs of being corroded; instead, it stood back up, its condition seemingly improving.
"How is that pos—"
Evil Axe's eyes widened, and before he could finish his sentence, he was swatted away by the Bear Goblin's palm.
The blow was incredibly powerful, yet he didn't care at all, scrambling to his feet with his eyes fixed on the Bear Goblin's back.
There, the Corrosive Arrow he had personally stabbed in was still in place, its dark arrowhead completely submerged in the muscle.
The wound wasn't blackening or festering.
On the contrary, a faint, almost imperceptible glow enveloped the arrow shaft, and along with the writhing of the muscles, it was slowly pushing the arrowhead out.
"This might be the work of that power enhancing the Bear Goblin..." Shield Mountain said with a heavy expression.
"It's over..."
Seeing no hope of a kill, Hawkeye already had plans to flee at any moment.
The real final plan didn't need anyone to give an order.
"I didn't expect this guy's Poison Resistance to be so high in addition to its Physical Resistance," a voice remarked from beside them.
The owner of the voice was the only Mage who had managed to damage the Bear Goblin.
Shield Mountain and Hawkeye looked toward the source of the sound.
They saw a thick beam of red light erupting from the white-haired youth's fingertip.
The immense kinetic energy and high temperature instantly evaporated everything in its path.
A scorching heatwave billowed from both sides of the red light, forcing the two of them to stumble backward.
Ronan completely released his limits, pouring his Spiritual Power into the magic construct of the "Scorching Ray" in one go.
At one hundred percent power, the "Scorching Ray" not only saw a massive increase in power but also a qualitative leap in its attack range.
At that moment, the middle section of the Bear Goblin's four-meter-tall and two-meter-wide body, from its chest to its lower abdomen, was instantly pierced by the Ray.
The internal tissues and bones were incinerated, leaving only a layer of skin on either side to hold it together, as if a large chunk had been scooped out.
Losing its support, its remaining body slowly fell backward due to inertia.
With a thunderous crash, the ground was smashed into two depressions by the mangled corpse.
"There it is, it's appeared again—that magic that exceeds all limits..."
Hawkeye screamed inwardly, once again shocked by Ronan's magic.
In a daze, Shield Mountain recalled the meaning behind Hawkeye's specific addition: 'He used magic that exceeds limits to kill a Goblin in one hit.'
This was simply not a move that a Mage of this level should be able to perform!
He looked at the white-haired youth nearby; after the explosion of Spiritual Power, the force field had fallen into chaos, and occasional small sparks of electricity flickered around the boy.
Shield Mountain frantically searched his memory for the scene when the other party joined the team.
After several confirmations, he found that it was indeed just an ordinary application, not a special entry method involving a specific Class, and only then did he secretly breathe a sigh of relief.
"Beautiful! What unparalleled magic!"
Evil Axe wasn't like Shield Mountain; his mind wasn't filled with so many complexities. He shouted excitedly, afraid Ronan wouldn't hear his praise.
Based on his principle of 'I respect the strong, and the weak respect me,' Evil Axe had his own set of moral standards for the strong—especially those who could save him.
The Dwarf's pride wouldn't allow him to suddenly become subservient and call Ronan by his code name "White Night" in a cringeworthy way.
Such a shift would seem too forced and could easily make both parties feel awkward.
However, it was absolutely necessary to ensure the other party received his sincere praise and admiration, and to yield the primary choice of spoils.
"Lord Mage, which part do you want? I'll cut it off for you!"
Evil Axe took the lead.
Without waiting for others to distribute the loot, he picked up his twin axes and began to dismember the Bear Goblin's corpse.
He looked exactly like a seasoned butcher in a slaughterhouse.
