75: Association President: I've already given you special permission.
"President, that old man Mike is going too far!"
"President, Mike is using the books to bolster his own importance; he's corrupt and incompetent..."
"President, I think we should replace him with a new Registry Administrator..."
"That's right, President. With my seniority, I'd like to apply..."
...Seeing the President arrive in person, the crowd began to air their grievances before him one after another.
Since that old man Mike refused to speak, why not just replace him?
Ronan looked through the dense crowd.
The President of the Arcane Arts Society looked old with gray hair, but his eyes were exceptionally sharp.
Ronan only glanced from a distance, but the other party sensed it instantly and looked over from across the space.
Their gazes pierced through the crowd and met.
The corners of the old man's eyes crinkled slightly with a hint of a smile.
His gaze naturally possessed a penetrating quality.
It gave Ronan an immediate sense of his cover being blown and his pen names being exposed, leaving him no choice but to nod back sheepishly.
Clearly, with the President's authority, he must have known Ronan's basic information and both of his pen names long ago.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have found Ronan in the crowd at a single glance.
"I understand everyone's concerns and requests."
The President spoke with a smile, his tone firm yet peaceful.
"However, there is surely a reason for the confidential submission system implemented by the Academy."
"But President..."
Someone in the crowd was unwilling to give up, but as soon as they spoke, the President continued:
"You wouldn't want your favorite author to be disturbed all day by others, affecting their creative process, would you?"
He spoke very slowly, appearing extremely patient.
This caused the people present to gradually calm down and return to rational thinking.
That's true; if everyone knew the identity of 'From White to Black,' how much time would he waste just dealing with people? He wouldn't have any time left to write 'battle through the heavens'!
And if some criminals decided to target the author himself, that would be even worse.
"President, we just want to meet Lord 'From White to Black,' to admire him and protect him. We don't want anything bad to happen to him..."
"Not exposing his identity is the greatest protection for him," the President replied.
"Alright, everyone disperse."
He had said what needed to be said; if they continued to be difficult, disciplinary measures would have to be taken.
Seeing the President's stance, the gathered crowd of fanatical readers finally gave up and slowly dispersed, leaving the Third Floor Area.
However, a few were still persistent, attempting to guess the submitter's identity by watching the submission box.
Fortunately, before these people arrived, Ronan had already quickly dropped his manuscript into the box.
Then he pretended to be one of his own fans, leaning toward New Lord while listening to the President's speech with an earnest expression.
Seeing New Lord still standing there in a daze of excitement, Ronan wordlessly balled his hand into a fist and gave him two light punches.
"Are you dead yet?"
New Lord finally snapped out of it and asked loudly, "Huh? Oh, did you submi—"
To prevent him from saying the word 'submit' and attracting unwanted attention, Ronan rushed forward and tightly covered his mouth.
"Mmph, mmph..." New Lord struggled instinctively, having no idea what was happening.
Only after he quieted down did Ronan take his hand off the other man's face.
"Who covers someone's mouth like that? You didn't even leave a hole for me to breathe!" New Lord accused angrily.
"Sorry, sorry. I just didn't want a secret to be leaked," Ronan apologized with a smile.
"What kind of secret is a submission! Is someone really going to stand by the box and stare at every single person who submits something?!"
After New Lord finished speaking, even he couldn't help but laugh.
Even he wouldn't do something that petty.
"See for yourself," Ronan said, pointing at several suspicious-looking students near the submission box.
New Lord looked in the direction he pointed. Not realizing the situation at first, he asked, "What are they doing?"
"They are likely looking for the person standing next to you."
A steady, unhurried voice came from behind the two of them.
"President."
"Hello, President."
The two of them turned around, bowed slightly, and gave a simple greeting.
"Don't be so formal..." The President waved his hand and continued, "Black Day, a word in private."
As he spoke, he slowly walked out of the Third Floor Area.
"What's that supposed to mean?" New Lord's expression stiffened. "Didn't he just say not to be formal?"
"The President might have something to discuss with me. You go back first."
After Ronan finished speaking, he followed the President to a deserted corridor entrance.
"Black Day, although you haven't been in the Academy long, I have read both your thesis and your literary works," the President said.
"Your research logic is very novel, and your perspective is unique. It can provide inspiration for many..."
"However, in some key areas, there is still significant room for development."
Hearing this, Ronan secretly felt a sense of admiration.
As expected of the President of the Arcane Arts Society; he had identified the nodes Ronan had deliberately omitted at a single glance.
Those omitted parts were the true core of 'Spiritual Fear'.
"Continue your research. Your magic can still be deeply optimized. When it's done, I will allow you to skip another grade."
After giving his encouragement, the President immediately put on an air of nonchalance and asked,
"Normally, a submission can only be seen in the Academy's system the next day..."
"I have already given you special approval. As long as it's your manuscript, it can go live on the same day."
"By the way, how long do you plan to serialize 'battle through the heavens'?"
The Arcane Arts Society's system was almost identical to the Adventurers Guild's, but it had two additional sections: 'Academic Research' and 'Free Creation'.
students could spend points to unlock content within these two sections.
"I'm not sure. I still have to do research usually, so it will probably take quite a long time..." Ronan said after a moment of thought.
Writing novels was mostly to earn some points. The update frequency depended on whether he was short on money at the moment.
"It seems updates will be an issue. It would be great if you could update more..."
The President shook his head and sighed, "What a pity."
Ronan could only respond with silence.
He couldn't exactly tell the President that 'battle through the heavens' actually had over five million words. If he only updated one chapter a day, it could last for four or five years.
"Also, I noticed there are still some students guarding the submission box. That might cause you trouble..."
"How about this: from now on, deliver your manuscripts directly to my office."
The corner of Ronan's mouth twitched as he thought to himself.
All that talk earlier was just a smokescreen; wanting to read the manuscript as soon as possible was the real goal... This old man is quite calculating. He definitely wouldn't be a good person if he were out in the world... "Alright, President," Ronan nodded in agreement, then asked,
"If it's inconvenient for me to go there, can I have someone deliver it for me?"
Although New Lord didn't know the truth yet, Ronan figured he wouldn't refuse.
"That's fine, but it's still better if you come in person..."
"If you encounter any unsolvable problems with your thesis, you can also come and ask me. Think of it as a benefit for running the errand yourself."
The President seemed very easy to talk to.
"Alright, thank you, President."
Ronan nodded in agreement on the surface, but in reality, he didn't take it to heart.
He'd try, but honestly, there wasn't much to ask.
It would be more practical if he just gave him some high-end knowledge... After saying goodbye to the President, Ronan returned to residence 761 alone.
With a creak, the door opened, and the resident of 762 next door instantly jumped out.
"Your latest chapter has already appeared on the board! That was so fast!"
New Lord's face was full of surprise; he had never seen such a publication speed.
He had reason to suspect that Black Day and the President had made some kind of unspeakable deal... Meanwhile.
Ronan suddenly felt a movement in his Godhead. With a thought, the information on the panel appeared before his eyes.
