156: I want to ban the card

Chris pointed at a card table and said, "They are two short over there, and Governor Li is also present."

After the two sat down, they each injected their chips into the operating system in front of their seats.

After exchanging greetings and placing the ante, the dealer began distributing the cards.

He Ming handed the terminal to Shui Meng: "You play."

"Huh?"

Shui Meng looked at the terminal and saw countless zeroes.

She counted silently in her heart: Ones, tens, hundreds... trillions!

Shui Meng reached out and touched her cards: one Crown card and one Scepter card.

He Ming glanced over and nearly burst out laughing. With both wildcards, no matter how they were combined, the final score would be 50 points, and the highest card value would definitely be 100.

Shui Meng leaned close to He Ming's ear and whispered, "How am I supposed to play this?"

He Ming replied, "Don't worry about how to play. Just bet. You'll figure out the rules after a few rounds."

"Oh."

Chris reached out and touched his cards: a 99 and a 60. His heart settled.

99 minus 60 was 39, already very close to 50 points. Even if someone else had the same score, the 99 card was enough to sweep the table. It was undoubtedly a good hand.

He looked at Shui Meng, who was holding her cards with a confused expression.

"Five hundred million."

Governor Li glanced at Chris, raising an eyebrow. Betting this high right away—was he on fire?

Looking at his own hand—a 50 and a 77—the hand was decent. He decisively chose the call option.

"Call."

When it was Shui Meng's turn, she looked pleadingly at He Ming, only to see him squinting slightly.

"Trust yourself!"

Although Shui Meng didn't understand the rules, she obeyed He Ming and chose the raise option. A hundred options appeared on the system panel, ranging from a minimum of one hundred million to a maximum of one hundred trillion.

She chose to raise by one hundred million.

Torrey, sitting behind Shui Meng, looked at his hand and chose to fold.

Chris and Governor Li both looked at Shui Meng, feeling the same confusion: did she even know how to play?

Judging by her expression, she clearly had a terrible hand, yet she still raised the bet.

"Call."

"Call."

The dealer continued to deal the cards.

Shui Meng received a 50.

Governor Li received a 20.

Chris received a 5.

Chris snorted softly. A lamb delivered right to the slaughter—it would be a waste not to butcher it. He decisively operated the panel, betting 1 billion.

Governor Li's three cards were 50, 77, and 20.

The best combination was 77 minus 50 plus 20, equaling 47. This was already very close to 50 points. As long as the difference between his next two cards didn't exceed 30, it would be considered a huge hand.

"Call."

Shui Meng looked at He Ming again, seeking advice.

He Ming said, "Be bolder."

Shui Meng turned back, took a deep breath, and chose the raise option: 1 billion.

Chris and Governor Li chose to raise without hesitation.

For the fourth card, Shui Meng received a 33.

Governor Li received a 48.

Chris received a 52.

Chris's cards were 99, 60, 5, and 52.

He quietly calculated in his mind.

The best combination was 99 minus 60 plus 52 minus 5, equaling 85.

For the fifth card to approach 50, a value between 30 and 40 would be best. The chances weren't small, but it could no longer be considered a great hand.

He snorted lightly, operated the panel, and raised by 10 billion.

Governor Li raised his eyebrows slightly.

His four cards were 50, 77, 20, and 48.

The best combination was 77 plus 50 minus 48 minus 20, equaling 59.

The optimal range for the fifth card was 1 to 20, which was acceptable. As long as the number didn't exceed 30, the hand wouldn't be small.

"Call."

It was Shui Meng's turn.

This time, she was decisive, choosing to raise again by 10 billion.

Although she didn't know the rules, the feeling of spending huge amounts of money was truly exhilarating.

Chris already had a rough assessment of Shui Meng.

She was a complete novice who probably hadn't even figured out how to combine the cards—a pure, fat lamb ready for shearing.

"Call."

Governor Li: "Call."

The dealer continued to deal the cards.

Chris reached out and touched his card—a 35. It was the most perfect card, combining exactly to 50 points, the maximum score. Moreover, with 99 as his highest card, as long as he didn't encounter a 100, he would win even if his opponent also achieved 50 points!

After hundreds of years of refinement, Chris was no longer the novice he once was. His face was perfectly calm, and his heart was completely devoid of emotional fluctuation.

Everyone seated here was a stellar-level expert, naturally able to guess their opponents' cards based on changes in their emotions.

Although he couldn't yet deliberately create subtle emotional shifts to mislead his opponents, controlling his own emotions was effortless.

Governor Li reached out and touched his card—an 8. His final score was 51, which was an immense hand.

His face remained impassive. He glanced subtly at Shui Meng and Chris, already calculating how to extract more value.

Shui Meng's fifth card was an 11.

Her five cards: Crown, Scepter, 50, 33, 11.

As wildcards, the Crown and Scepter could be combined in any way to achieve the desired maximum score.

100 minus 50 minus 33 minus 11 plus 46 equals 50, with the highest card being 100.

Chris watched Shui Meng. Through careful perception, he noticed that Shui Meng's heart rate was extremely fast, her face was gradually flushing, and her eye-blinking frequency had noticeably increased.

"Raise two trillion."

Governor Li squinted at Chris, a hint of doubt arising in his heart.

Could he have drawn a 50-point hand?

The probability of combining five cards to reach 50 points was too low, unless he drew a Crown or a Scepter.

Looking at his own hand, it was 51 points.

Governor Li hadn't drawn such a huge hand in a long time.

To fold now felt truly unwilling.

"Time extension."

Governor Li operated the panel and chose a one-minute extension for consideration.

Before coming, Governor Li had memorized the playing strategies and habits of 385 governors.

Governors who consistently won money were basically the key focus of every other governor.

Chris had enjoyed good luck in the last few tournaments, and his card playing skills were excellent. He bluffed frequently and often pulled off successful steals.

In the final ten seconds, Governor Li made his decision.

"Call."

Shui Meng stared at the panel in front of her, not daring to reach out and operate it again.

Even though she always believed in her luck, this was too much money. If she lost, she couldn't afford to pay it back even if she sold herself entirely...

Governor Li and Chris saw Shui Meng's reaction and understood clearly: her hand definitely wasn't strong, or she wouldn't be so terrified.

He Ming raised his hand, and nearby staff immediately approached.

"Governor Wang."

"Help me exchange chips. Add one hundred trillion."

The staff member's expression lit up with joy. For a deposit of one hundred trillion, he would receive a commission of one hundred million!

"Understood, Governor Wang. Please wait a moment."

He Ming handed over his terminal. Under the staff member's operation, one hundred trillion in chips was credited to the account.

Under the watchful eyes of Governor Li and Chris, He Ming deposited the one hundred trillion chips onto the table.

"I'm not afraid to tell you all, my hand is 50 points. Call if you dare."

He Ming pushed Shui Meng aside and chose to raise by one hundred trillion.

Governor Li's heart pounded wildly in that instant. Without thinking, he immediately chose to fold.

"What a lunatic."

Chris's heart began to pound uncontrollably. Without hesitation, he chose to call.

Just as the dealer was about to announce the reveal and count the cards, Chris reached out to stop him.

"Wait, I choose to seal the cards."

The dealer nodded slightly, retrieved two metal covers from the lower drawer, and sealed the hands of He Ming and Chris.

"Wang Chao, dare to play for even more?"
