60: Not recognizing a kind heart

Bai Qianqian instantly understood. Her father intended to cooperate with her in putting on a show, using this opportunity to establish authority.

She waved her hand, and an assistant nearby carried a briefcase to the tea table, opening it in front of everyone. Inside were stacks of stock transfer agreements that had been prepared in advance.

A group of relatives gathered around out of curiosity, wanting to see what was inside.

“Uncles and relatives, I know what you are worried about.”

Bai Qianqian walked up to the tea table and spoke calmly: “These are the stock transfer agreements I prepared for you. As long as you are willing, I will repurchase them at a price higher than the historical peak stock price of Bais Technology.”

“In addition to that, I will personally give you an extra 30% subsidy, as thanks for your support of Bais Technology over the years.”

“I'll sign!”

The speaker was Bai Qing, Bai Qianqian's cousin-uncle. He had always been impatient and was not the type to suffer a loss.

When he saw the press conference held by Bais Technology, he nearly went crazy with anxiety.

In his view, it wouldn't be long before the shares of Bais Technology became worthless scrap paper, the kind nobody would even take for free.

The assistant skillfully pulled out a contract and handed it over.

Bai Qing took the document, went aside, and handed it to the highly-regarded lawyer he had specifically hired.

“Help me check if there are any issues with this contract.”

Once someone took the lead, naturally, more people stepped forward to request the contract.

Aside from a few executives who held positions in important departments at Bais Technology, most others chose to cash out immediately and leave, terrified that the cooked duck was about to fly away.

Bai Qianqian’s gaze was sharp as she scanned the remaining few who were still hesitating.

“Is there anyone else who wants to withdraw?”

“If you want to sign, do it now. This is your last chance.”

Seeing that no one else spoke up, Bai Qianqian picked up her bag from the desk and headed out.

“Dad, I'll leave the board of directors to you.”

“I am very busy and don't have the energy to play games with them.”

Bai Yanjun sighed softly and nodded slightly.

“Alright.”

Bai Yanjun turned sideways, looking at the group of beaming relatives in front of him, a hint of reluctance showing on his face.

As Bai Qianqian's father, he naturally knew about the relationship between his daughter and Ghost, as well as Star Ocean.

The project to develop Western Xinjiang seemed like a bottomless pit with no return, but as long as it was connected to Star Ocean, even the most outrageous things would become reasonable and justified.

Therefore, this matter was easy to understand: his precious daughter wanted to use this opportunity to clean house within the company and consolidate power.

However, kicking out partners who had worked hard alongside him with a single move made Bai Yanjun feel somewhat heartless.

After a moment of hesitation, he decided to try persuading them again.

“I know everyone is anxious, but the more critical the situation, the more you need to remain calm.”

“Calm down about what?”

“Big Brother, your daughter is pushing the Bai family into a fiery pit!”

“Exactly! Five trillion just to hear a boom?”

Bai Yanjun's expression became slightly more serious.

“Qianqian grew up under my watch. She never does anything she isn't confident about.”

“This decision seems very risky, but there might be inside information we don't know about. So, I suggest everyone wait and see a little longer, and not rush into a decision.”

“Wait and see?”

“If the money is all wasted, who do we complain to?”

“Big Brother, we know you cherish your daughter, but you can't protect her like this! If things continue this way, the Bai family will be ruined by her sooner or later.”

Bai Yanjun felt aggrieved. They truly failed to recognize his good intentions; his kind advice had been completely rebuffed.

Watching these emotional relatives, he knew that talking further would be useless, so he remained silent.

The few who had not chosen to sign the stock transfer agreement stood silently on the side, watching coldly. They held high positions and understood Bai Qianqian's methods better than outsiders.

Ever since this new, decisive leader took over Bais Technology, the company had soared like a rocket, reaching heights it was never expected to achieve.

What they saw was the chain reaction triggered by this event: Bai Qianqian repurchasing the shares held by these relatives.

Subsequently, many people on the board of directors would likely also take their money and leave.

And this was very likely Bai Qianqian's true objective.

Of course, they certainly wouldn't voice these thoughts. Offending Bai Qianqian would be equivalent to smashing their own rice bowls...

After leaving the company, Bai Qianqian sat in her car and casually scrolled through a few short videos.

When she scrolled to a short video titled [The Wealth Code Hidden Behind the Western Xinjiang Infrastructure Project], she stopped and quietly watched it.

“Today, let's talk about the recent hot topic: Bais Technology's massive undertaking, the Western Xinjiang Infrastructure Project.”

“I believe many people feel this is just capitalists playing around and burning money. What does that have to do with me, who earns three thousand a month?”

“Friends, the connection here is huge.”

“First, a construction project of this scale is bound to create countless job opportunities.”

“When five trillion in investment lands, what is the first thing it drives? Building materials, sand and gravel, hardware, construction machinery... Business owners in these industries will be overwhelmed with orders.”

“Will factories need to work overtime and accelerate production?”

“Once new production lines open, won't they need to hire more workers?”

The scene shifted, showing CG animation of factories working overtime and recruitment sites.

Bai Qianqian raised an eyebrow slightly. This CG animation was extremely well-produced. Was such a large investment necessary just to create a short video?

Driven by curiosity, she clicked on the video creator's avatar. ID: Mr. Jia, International Financial Commentator. Followers: 50 million plus.

Bai Qianqian followed financial bloggers both domestically and internationally, but this was the first time she had encountered a financial blogger with the ID Mr. Jia.

“He even has a verified account. However, what Mr. Jia is saying is quite professional.”

Bai Qianqian returned to the video playback page and continued watching.

“For these newly hired workers, and the existing long-term employees, if the workload increases, should their wages increase?”

“When the income of these groups increases, what will they do next?”

The scene shifted, cutting to a shopping mall, a restaurant...

“If my salary suddenly increases, I will definitely take my wife and kids out to eat. Four dishes and one soup is the absolute minimum.”

“On weekends, we'll go to the amusement park, and we'll have to buy the latest styles of clothes.”

“A while ago, a friend of mine opened a barbecue restaurant in Western Xinjiang, right next to the two construction sites recently started by Bais Technology. Business is three or four times better than usual, and he needs to use sacks just to carry the money.”

“He is currently desperate to hire waiters. He doubled his employees' salaries and provides room and board.”

“To talk about something even more tangible, will the small business owners who made money from this project go out and buy new cars?”

“Will the sales staff at 4S dealerships earn more commission?”

“If restaurant business is good and the waiters are too busy, will the owners have to increase their wages?”

“Who ultimately benefits?”

“Of course, Western Xinjiang is definitely the biggest beneficiary. Some young people locally can easily find high-paying jobs.”

“You might not be working on the construction site, so you don't directly enjoy the benefits brought by the core industry.”

“But if you are a hairdresser, you might suddenly notice more customers coming in for haircuts.”

“Delivery riders will receive more orders.”

“Salespeople will find that the commission they can earn has increased.”

The screen froze on a map of Western Xinjiang, where golden economic veins spread out like ripples across the entire country.

“So, brothers, this five trillion is truly not some vague, illusory number.”

“It is a huge cake from which everyone will benefit. We should fully support such a great initiative.”

The video ended there. Bai Qianqian opened the comments section, wanting to see the public reaction.
