161: Finally fell for it

He Ming disliked bluffing and had never done such a thing.

The reason he dared to openly pressure the four-person group was naturally due to the omniscient notebook's deductions, which concluded that Deco would fold.

He Ming could guess some of the reasons.

That was because Shui Meng's influence had been proven; she could inadvertently affect the thoughts of Stellar-level beings.

Wang Chao's suppression at the Moon Base was the best proof.

Governor Wan Xingying's brows furrowed, and she looked at her terminal again. Could that message have been deliberately shown to Deco?

"Is this guy… hiding his true strength?"

Deco gritted his teeth and said, "Again!"

The card game continued.

After the dealer dealt the cards, He Ming communicated with the omniscient notebook.

"Give me everyone's card values."

"Chris: Crown."

"Deco: Scepter."

"Max: 14."

"Fili: 30."

"He Ming: 95."

The dealer said, "Governor Wang Chao, please speak."

"My cards are too small, I'm out."

As soon as these words were spoken, Deco, who was scratching his head, and Chris, who was holding a lock of golden hair from his forehead, froze. A sudden urge to slice He Ming into a thousand pieces surged in their hearts.

The four-person group symbolically completed a round of betting. When the cards were revealed, the people around them couldn't help but loudly discuss.

"Interesting, Wang Chao actually managed to escape this hand."

"If Wang Chao had followed through, he would definitely have bled heavily…"

"It seems Lady Luck is on Wang Chao's side today."

The game continued for more than thirty rounds. Chris won thirty trillion, Deco won fifteen billion, and Max and Fili also had some gains. Only He Ming lost fifty-seven trillion.

A new round of the card game began.

He Ming picked up his hand and communicated with the omniscient notebook.

"Give me everyone's card values."

"Chris: 77."

"Deco: 50."

"Max: Scepter."

"Fili: 5."

"He Ming: Crown."

Fili, who won the previous round, directly chose to fold.

Deco followed closely behind.

Max reached up and scratched his forehead twice, then lowered his hand.

Chris understood and symbolically placed a trillion chips.

When it was Max's turn, he went all-in directly, a total of seventy-nine trillion chips.

He Ming chose to call.

Chris: "You two play."

Max tapped the card table, looked directly at He Ming, and said, "Wang Chao, dare you play for higher stakes?"

He Ming: "How high do you want to play?"

Max: "Two star marrow ores."

He Ming: "I've lost so many hands in a row, do you think I'm stupid?"

Chris: "Forget it, forget it. Wang Chao doesn't dare to call, so there's no point in saying more."

Deco snorted, "Indeed."

He Ming: "What do you think two star marrow ores are, two cabbages? It's easy to talk when you're not the one paying."

The burly Governor watching said, "Exactly, two star marrow ores, they're not cabbages."

"Did he get a big hand?"

"I think someone is deliberately setting a trap, trying to win back the lost star marrow ores."

Chris glared sideways at the speaker and said coldly, "Watch your words."

"See, he's getting anxious."

"Hahahahaha…"

The surrounding Governors burst into laughter.

After watching for so long, everyone present understood that Chris, Deco, Max, and Fili were clearly setting a trap.

He Ming: "Are you sure you want to bet two star marrow ores?"

Max: "Yes, dare you?"

"Alright."

Max inadvertently tapped the table twice.

Chris lightly tapped his right foot on the ground.

After getting the answer, Max no longer hesitated. They had signed a contract before coming; even if two star marrow ores were lost, Chris and Deco would be responsible for paying.

"dealer, draw up the contract."

He Ming: "Wait."

Chris and Deco's expressions tightened, and they both looked at He Ming.

Deco: "What, going back on your word?"

He Ming lightly snorted, "I'm not you, Deco."

Deco realized, his face instantly flushed, and he said no more.

He Ming turned his head to look at Governor Wan Xingying, who was standing behind him, and asked, "Governor Wan Xingying, how about two star marrow ores, one from each of us?"

Governor Wan Xingying's eyes narrowed. She stepped forward, bent down, lifted a corner of He Ming's card, and then put it back down.

"Alright."

He Ming: "dealer, draw up the contract. Governor Wan Xingying and I will split the winnings and losses equally."

Deco and Chris exchanged glances, seeing a hint of solemnity in each other's eyes.

Chris thought: Is he bluffing again?

Once was enough, but does he really think everyone is a monkey?

Deco thought: Did this dog, Wang Chao, get the Crown?

Just as the unease in his heart grew stronger, he suddenly remembered the hand where He Ming bluffed him.

He Ming and Governor Wan Xingying also had a small collaboration once, but that time it was through messages, this time it was directly letting Governor Wan Xingying see the cards.

Max saw the two hesitating and tapped the table twice again.

Chris lightly tapped his right foot on the ground.

Deco's mind was now filled with only one thought: to win the star marrow ores and offer them to Governor Wan Xingying, thereby helping the goddess escape her suffering.

Max sensed their responses and said no more: "dealer, draw up the contract."

After confirmation, the dealer began operating on the system panel.

Soon, a contract popped up on the terminals of Max, He Ming, and Governor Wan Xingying.

Once signed, there would be no room for regret.

If anyone reneged midway, the Star Empire's enforcement team was not to be trifled with.

After the contract was signed, He Ming and Governor Wan Xingying simultaneously broke into brilliant smiles.

After acting for so long, they finally fell for it.

Two star marrow ores, in hand.

He Ming didn't give up a star marrow ore to get closer to Governor Wan Xingying; the fundamental reason was to use the military might of the Wan Star System to deter Chris and Deco.

If Chris lost both star marrow ores, the omniscient notebook's deduction was that war would inevitably break out. If things escalated and attracted the attention of the Domain Lord, He Ming's disguise would be exposed, resulting in his immediate execution.

But with Governor Wan Xingying's involvement, the outcome was completely different.

Governor Wan Xingying's personal combat power ranked among the top five among all Governors in the Star Empire, and the military power of the Wan Star System was equivalent to the combined strength of the Luol Star System and the Yuan Yang Star System.

With a common interest binding them, plus an order for a billion genetic serums, Governor Wan Xingying would naturally choose to help.

The omniscient notebook's answer was that Chris and Deco would accept their loss but would resort to underhanded tactics, hiring interstellar assassins the next day to assassinate him.

Max stood up, laughing, and revealed his hand.

"Wang Chao, you lost."

The onlookers crowded closer to see: a Scepter card!

"Wow, no wonder he was so confident, he got the Scepter!"

"For Wang Chao to win, he needed to get the Crown, and that probability is too small. Two star marrow ores, what a huge stake."

"After watching for so long, Wang Chao finally fell into the trap."

Chris slapped the table and laughed, "Wang Chao, quickly show your cards!"
