39: What is the name of our company?

Su Jin, Lin Dong, and Zhang Kaiwen were gathered in the CEO's office, discussing how to resume full-line production of longevity water as quickly as possible.

"It's an email from the Big Boss!"

The three quickly gathered around the desk upon hearing this.

Jiang Zhonghua quickly scanned the email content, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, then he looked up at Su Jin.

"The Big Boss ordered us to immediately register and establish 'Star Sea Energy Technology'."

"And, the Big Boss personally appointed you, President Su, to be the CEO of the new company."

Zhang Kaiwen and Lin Dong's faces showed undisguised envy, as this meant Su Jin had entered the Big Boss's sights.

However, they were also sincerely convinced by the Big Boss's decision; having worked together for so long, Su Jin's capability was beyond doubt, and she was more than qualified to be the CEO of the new company.

Su Jin paused for half a second, her gaze suddenly sharpening.

"Understood."

Jiang Zhonghua made the decisive call.

"Without further ado, let's split up immediately."

"I'll handle the registration procedures; President Lin, you're responsible for screening and mobilizing internal key personnel; President Su, Kaiwen, you two should quickly come up with the initial research and development direction for 'Star Sea Energy Technology'."

Just as the four were about to start their tasks, a special notification sound came from Jiang Zhonghua's computer again; the Big Boss had sent another email.

The four gathered around the desk again in unison.

Jiang Zhonghua immediately opened the email.

"flint Nuclear Energy Battery R&D Log."

"Nuclear energy?" Lin Dong blurted out.

"This should just be a gimmick, right?"

Su Jin shook her head, continuing with an extremely firm tone.

"This is an R&D project from the Big Boss; it should be the nuclear energy we understand."

The four exchanged glances, suddenly feeling the temperature in the room rise by ten degrees.

"Is the Big Boss planning to flip the table?"

The special notification sound rang again.

Jiang Zhonghua opened the email with a puzzled expression.

"Space-based Orbital High-Energy Laser System R&D Log."

The body of the email contained only a short sentence.

"Submit it to the country along with carbon nanotube t-4, in exchange for the sales rights of the civilian version of carbon nanotube t-4 and flint."

The office fell into a deathly silence.

Four people, eight eyes, stared intently at the two short lines on the screen.

Their expressions had gone beyond shock, entering a state of bewildered stupefaction, as if their worldview had been shattered.

Lin Dong's lips trembled; he wanted to say something, but his throat felt as if something was stuck, unable to utter a single word.

Moreover, he felt his legs weaken.

Zhang Kaiwen's face turned completely pale.

Su Jin felt a wave of dizziness; she had completely understood the literal meaning of flint.

Was this to prepare a strategic countermeasure weapon for Dragon Country in advance, fearing that foreign countries might flip the table?

"Space-based Orbital High-Energy Laser System."

Space-based weapon!

Judging from the literal meaning, this was clearly an orbital cannon!

What was this thing for?

Was it to destroy other countries' satellites, or to take down bad guys flying in the sky?

Jiang Zhonghua was the first to barely regain a shred of his ability to think.

"Is the Big Boss asking us to negotiate with the officials using this 'three-piece set'?"

Lin Dong swallowed hard.

"The Big Boss didn't rob alien technology, did he?"

Su Jin took a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm.

"To operate a space-based weapon, probably only nuclear energy can power it."

"The Big Boss must have prepared this step long ago."

Zhang Kaiwen immediately reacted upon hearing this.

"President Su, are you saying that the Big Boss made us fully develop 'carbon nanotube t-4' for this space-based weapon?"

"Probably so."

Lin Dong felt a chill down his spine.

"Then what do you think the Big Boss's ultimate goal is?"

Jiang Zhonghua pressed down his uncontrollably trembling right hand and replied.

"What is our company called?"

"Star Sea!"

"Stars and the sea!"

"Oh my God..."

Inside the office, you could hear a pin drop.

The four people's breathing became heavy; Pandora's box had been opened, and the monsters released from it were of world-ending proportions.

If such a space-based weapon were truly built, it would be a Sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of all nations.

Even if someone, driven by desperation, wanted to flip the table, they would first have to consider who would be nuked first.

Su Jin saw things clearly; at least she understood the Big Boss's implicit meaning.

"The Big Boss is not trying to start a war, but to prevent one from happening."

"As long as our country possesses space-based weapons, our Star Sea can then sell the civilian versions of 'flint' and 'carbon nanotube t-4'."

This conclusion plunged the four back into silence.

"This is truly..."

The four of them had realized that He Ming's strategy had long transcended the realms of business and technology; he was playing a grand game that concerned the fate of the nation, and even the direction of human civilization.

The atmosphere in the office remained oppressive.

Jiang Zhonghua took a deep breath; he realized that these few light electronic files in his hand carried a weight sufficient to crush an era.

Perhaps even enough to usher in a whole new epoch.

Throughout human history, how many people have been fortunate enough to stand at such a crossroads?

And how many have had the privilege to personally push the gears of civilization forward by a notch?

Jiang Zhonghua: "Our next actions might be recorded in history."

Su Jin nodded heavily; she felt every cell in her body burning fiercely.

"Our purpose, perhaps, is for this very moment."

Zhang Kaiwen: "The best public relations I've ever done in my life will be the task I'm about to undertake."

Lin Dong: "Let's do it! This life was worth it!"

Shanghai Municipal Government, Reception Room.

Jiang Zhonghua and Su Jin sat upright, their tea long cold.

Though they tried their best to remain calm, their posture was extremely stiff.

The young secretary responsible for receiving them keenly noticed that these two Star Sea executives, who were influential figures in the business world, actually had a fine layer of sweat on their foreheads.

She frowned, muttering to herself: Is the air conditioner broken?

She quietly walked to the air conditioner vent and felt it.

No problem, right?

"President Jiang, President Su, do you need me to lower the air conditioner temperature further?"

The sudden greeting brought Jiang Zhonghua and Su Jin back to their senses.

They almost simultaneously raised their hands to wipe their foreheads, and indeed, their hands were sweaty.

Jiang Zhonghua forced a somewhat stiff smile.

"No, no, the temperature is just right."

Su Jin: "Perhaps we walked a bit too fast just now."

Just then, the door to the reception room opened.

"You two have waited long enough; the Secretary invites you in for a detailed discussion."
