56: This guy is a master!

[The No Man's Land] On the battlefield, Bai Xiaofei's fingers, gripping the control stick, relaxed slightly. He rested his head on his right hand, controlling the Mech's forward charge with just one hand.

The No Man's Land was a flat plain map devoid of any cover, meaning close combat was inevitable once they engaged.

Mechs specializing in long-range sniping rarely had an opportunity to strike, and hitting a target at extreme distances was exceedingly difficult. Bai Xiaofei had tried it before, but he had failed every time.

That was why he felt so confident, approaching the basic model Mech with the ID 'Ming' rapidly in a straight-line charge.

He had played 33 consecutive matches, only two of which required him to use his full strength. The rest of his opponents were just like those in the games he used to play—utterly worthless.

Bai Xiaofei continued his charge, piloting the customized Mech, night owl. This was the name he had given the machine.

The thrusters, balance, mid-range firepower, and close-combat weapons had all received balanced upgrades.

He had even shifted most of his attention away from the screen, contemplating how he should use the system mission points awarded from the ranked matches to further modify the night owl once he finished this round and returned to his personal hangar.

Just as everyone relaxed their guard...

A blinding particle beam tore through the air without warning, shooting from an extreme distance in a nearly straight trajectory!

Accompanied by a shattering sound, a signal receiver on the right side of the night owl's head instantly broke apart.

Bai Xiaofei suddenly straightened up, his hands returning to the control sticks. Looking at the somewhat blurred visual map before him, he was completely stunned.

Over ten thousand meters away, and he actually managed to hit it from such a distance?

A chill rushed from his feet straight up to the crown of his head.

A fluke? There was no such thing as that kind of coincidence!

Bai Xiaofei's heart began to pound wildly for the first time in a long while.

If that shot had been aimed slightly further to the left, the battle would have already been over.

"This person is a master!"

Jin Xiaolong, sitting in front of his computer, had originally been watching the match expecting a joke, but the moment the deadly particle beam took out the signal receiver, the mockery on his face turned into unbelievable shock.

"How could this happen?"

Jin Xiaolong had attempted long-range sniping during training and on the Moon battlefield. It was difficult, extremely difficult.

Even a professional sniper piloting a Mech would absolutely not be able to hit a target ten thousand meters away with such precision.

Perhaps it could be achieved after a period of practice, but definitely not now. star sea knight: enlightenment had only been online for less than a day!

Jin Xiaolong subconsciously leaned forward, starting to stare intently at the computer screen.

"This person is absolutely a master!"

The audience in the live stream were all completely bewildered at this moment. Most people had only seen a particle beam shoot across the screen, followed by an explosion that caused the display to become blurred.

[Warning: Signal Receiver Damaged]

"????????" "Holy hell, what just happened?"

"The signal receiver was taken out? A first-shot hit from ultra-long range?"

"Am I seeing things? Could this marksmanship really come from a beginner with a basic loadout?"

"Something's not right. This 'Ming' is very suspicious!"

... After witnessing his opponent's long-range sniping accuracy, Bai Xiaofei decisively chose an unpredictable method of approach.

At times he used 'snake-like' movements, and at other times he executed the more complex Z-axis shake, utilizing nearly every maneuver he had learned from real-world games.

The six reinforced thrusters on the night owl's back erupted with surging blue flames, speeding toward the basic model Mech piloted by Ming like an arrow released from a bow.

He Ming, 9,743 meters away, was currently kneeling on one knee, holding a long-range particle beam sniper rifle. He looked at the night owl performing its 'snake-like' maneuvers through the scope, a slight smirk appearing at the corner of his mouth.

He Ming's life index had already reached 27,000 points, and star sea knight: enlightenment, this fully virtual game, could perfectly replicate the mental fluctuation level of a player from reality through scanning.

In other words, even within the game, He Ming's spiritual fluctuation could reach nearly the same level as it was in reality.

In his vision, the night owl's movements were like a slow-motion replay.

Just as the night owl completed a direction change and its center of gravity shifted slightly to the left, He Ming pulled the trigger, firing the second particle beam.

This particle beam was preemptively aimed one body length ahead of the night owl's expected evasion route on the left.

The timing, angle, and prediction were all executed perfectly, making it impossible for the night owl to effectively evade.

"Damn it, I can't dodge!"

The moment Bai Xiaofei saw the beam light up, he realized something was wrong.

He subconsciously tried to twist his body, but the massive inertia generated by the Mech during its high-speed charge was not so easily overcome.

The signal receiver on the left side of the night owl Mech's head immediately shattered.

[Warning: Signal Receiver Damaged, Battlefield Data Link Disconnected]

Inside Bai Xiaofei's cockpit, the global map on the main screen turned into static before completely fading to black.

The radar enemy-detection function failed, and remote communication was cut off. Under these circumstances, Bai Xiaofei could only rely on his naked eye through the observation window and auxiliary cameras to obtain limited information.

Jin Xiaolong immediately stood up from his chair, his eyes wide and his eyebrows raised high, sporting an expression as if he had seen a ghost.

If the first hit on the signal receiver was a fluke, then this one was absolutely inevitable.

"Impossible!"

Jin Xiaolong's life index had reached 4,700 points, and he understood exactly how terrifying the meaning behind this shot was.

In his opinion, Bai Xiaofei's unpredictable charge was flawless and represented standard advanced maneuvering techniques.

The problem was that, under such difficult-to-predict circumstances, Ming not only captured the momentary weakness but also precisely hit the target unit's slender signal receiver.

A historical allusion involuntarily surfaced in his mind—shooting the halberd at the camp gate.

"No, this guy's marksmanship is far better than shooting the halberd at the camp gate!"

Jin Xiaolong's brows furrowed into the shape of the Chinese character 'Chuan' ( river).

He couldn't quite understand why Ming, possessing such terrifying marksmanship, would aim again for the non-critical but extremely insulting signal receiver when he clearly had the opportunity to hit the cockpit, engine, or other fatal components.

Jin Xiaolong felt a chill rising from the soles of his feet. Bai Xiaofei, who had defeated him twice consecutively, was now being played like an unarmed child caught in the palm of his opponent's hand when facing this 'Ming'.

The shock experienced by the person involved was far more intense than that felt by anyone else.

Bai Xiaofei looked at the static map, devoid of all real-time information, feeling as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

He understood. The first shot was no coincidence; it was a blatant warning, and also a measurement of his own ability.

The second shot was an act of humiliating provocation.

"Ha, ha ha ha."

Instead of getting angry at this humiliation, Bai Xiaofei displayed an unprecedented fighting spirit!

The muscles in his face began twitching rapidly in small movements—a normal physiological reaction caused by adrenaline secretion.

Even the most layperson viewers in the live stream had now completely understood the situation: Bai Xiaofei was being toyed with by a true master.

In the live stream, which had over 100 million concurrent viewers, the rolling barrage of comments created a spectacular sight, completely submerging the entire screen.

At this moment, viewers with slightly weaker computer configurations were already cursing furiously.
