132: Lingchi knife technique

When Jiang Lan was leaving Chun Quan Courtyard, Gu Yan had said something similar to him. If Jiang Lan remembered correctly, Gu Yan had said, 'Seeing that everyone else is alive, I might as well live too.'

To be honest, in his previous life, his mindset was similar to the two women.

He had also lived for over twenty years in a muddled state.

But after arriving at this place and gaining the System, his thoughts gradually changed.

What was the point of just living?

As the saying goes, 'You're already here.'

Since he was here, he certainly couldn't just pass through this world in vain.

He might not leave anything behind for others, but he definitely had to live a life of joy and clarity for himself.

The two brothers were very efficient. In just about half a cup of tea's time, they had a large group of people brought to Jiang Lan's door.

Looking over, there were about ten people in total, including the attendant who had served him earlier.

Jiang Lan glanced at the white-clothed woman.

"Take a look. Don't accidentally kill good people again."

The crowd initially thought that the Inn had provided poor service, displeasing the Martial Artist, which was why they were tied up and brought upstairs.

But the moment they saw the white-clothed woman, almost all of their expressions changed.

Among them, the more timid ones were almost scared to death.

However, there were also some bolder ones who, mustering their courage, spoke with trembling voices, "Huang… Huang Qian? Aren't you…"

It was only then that Jiang Lan learned the name of the woman in the white dress.

Huang Qian… He showed no expression on his face, merely looking coldly at Huang Changsheng, who lay on the ground, his life unknown, as if he were looking at a dead man.

He had previously thought that Huang Changsheng and Huang Qian only had some distant, unrelated familial connection.

But now, it seemed that was not the case.

The same surname, while possibly a coincidence, would be too much of a coincidence if it truly was.

Jiang Lan kicked Huang Changsheng on the ground.

"Is he your paternal uncle?"

"He is."

Jiang Lan said no more, instead pointing to the group of people brought over by the two brothers.

"Among these people, are there any who are innocent?"

Huang Qian bit her lower lip lightly and shook her head.

"No."

"No? That makes it easier," Jiang Lan picked up his long saber. "How do you want them to die?"

Huang Qian only replied with four words.

"The more tragic, the better."

"Tsk…" Jiang Lan clicked his tongue. "What a pity, this place isn't the Demon Suppression Division, and the tools aren't complete. Let me think…"

Jiang Lan pretended to ponder.

A moment later, he asked:

"Cut into mince?"

There were no whips, nail boards, or other torture implements at hand. Without torture implements, to torment someone, he could only put in some effort and use a saber.

Upon hearing this, Huang Qian nodded heavily.

Listening to Jiang Lan and Huang Qian talk as if no one else was there, the hair on the backs of the Inn attendants' necks stood up.

It wasn't as if there was a language barrier; how could they not understand that Jiang Lan intended to kill them?

And not just kill them, but cut them into mince?

A commotion immediately broke out among the crowd.

Some cursed, some tried to run, but all were driven back into the room by the two brothers standing at the doorway.

Jiang Lan didn't dally. He walked directly to the first, somewhat short and fat attendant, and patted his greasy face.

"Any last words?"

The short, fat attendant was almost scared to pee himself.

"Yes! Yes!"

"It doesn't matter if you do…" Jiang Lan held his saber, the blade flashing rapidly. In an instant, he sliced dozens of pieces of fat from the short, fat attendant's body. "Since they are last words, they only count after you're dead. I'm too lazy to listen, so you should wait until after you die to find someone who wants to hear them."

As he spoke, Jiang Lan's hands were not slow at all, like a master on an assembly line, deftly disassembling meat blocks.

The fat attendant's wails shook the heavens, but even when his throat went hoarse from screaming, no one dared to step forward and speak.

On the contrary, the group of attendants brought up by the two brothers were all huddled in the corner, and some of the more spineless ones had already wet their pants, with water stains continuously dripping down.

As for those who wanted to run, there were some.

However, they were all kicked back by the two brothers, one kick per person.

Shaking the blood from his long saber, Jiang Lan turned and asked Huang Qian:

"Is this acceptable?"

By this time, the fat man was no longer human, almost a skeletal figure, with almost no skin or flesh left.

A normal person would not have been able to endure this far; they would have died long ago.

But Jiang Lan was skilled; he specifically used True Qi to keep the attendant alive, which was why he still had a breath left.

Huang Qian looked at Jiang Lan with a somewhat complex gaze.

She then said:

"Benefactor, you can just kill everyone here; there's no need to go through so much trouble."

"Hm?"

Jiang Lan didn't feel it was troublesome at all; on the contrary, he found it quite novel.

Personally performing Lingchi on someone else was a rare experience.

However, since Huang Qian had said so, he couldn't insist on saying anything more, merely nodding and saying:

"Then I shall follow your wishes."

Jiang Lan turned and walked to the corner where the attendants were huddled.

"Who wants to go first?"

None of the attendants dared to answer; they all hung their heads like quails.

However, the instinct for survival ultimately triumphed over reason, and soon someone looked up and pleaded with Jiang Lan:

"Mercy, Milord! Mercy, Milord!"

"What's the use of saying that now? If I were going to spare you, I wouldn't have had you brought up here." As he spoke, a chilling gleam flashed from the long saber in Jiang Lan's hand, landing directly on the neck of the pleading man.

"Swoosh!"

The pleading man was instantly decapitated, blood gushing from his neck and splashing onto those around him.

The person next to him tried to dodge but coincidentally ran into Jiang Lan's blade.

"Swoosh!"

Another head flew into the air.

The crowd immediately fell into a state of chaos.

At this point, they no longer cared about the consequences of breaking down the door; they pushed and shoved each other, desperate to escape Jiang Lan's room.

But how could Jiang Lan give them a chance to escape?

With every raise and fall of his hand and saber, there was a flash of cold light.

The cold light flickered continuously for a moment, and the dozen or so attendants who had been brought up were instantly slaughtered.

Looking at the messy scene, Jiang Lan casually flicked the blood from his long saber, then squatted down and wiped the blood from the blade on a random corpse before re-sheathing his long saber.

Just then.

"Evil creature inside, surrender at once!"

Outside, from what sounded like the vicinity of the Inn's first-floor lobby, a deep voice came.

Jiang Lan stepped over a series of corpses and looked downstairs.

Because the Inn was built in a 'hui' ( times) shape, with the middle two floors open, one could directly see the first floor of the Inn. There, a burly middle-aged man stood, accompanied by several people in uniform whose ages were unclear.

The uniforms were mostly black, with intricate black cloud patterns embroidered on the cuffs.

Jiang Lan recognized this uniform.

It was the standard attire of the Wu Country Demon Suppression Division.

Jiang Lan smiled.

He hadn't expected the Wu Country Demon Suppression Division to be so quick.
