166: It is never too late for a gentleman to take revenge?

Hearing the conversation between the two demons, Jiang Lan’s expression was a bit strange.

Does it have to be such a coincidence?

It was as if these two demons were deliberately talking for him to hear.

At the foot of the mountain… When Jiang Lan entered the city earlier, he did see a mountain outside the city, and it was quite tall.

It just didn’t look like there were any buildings on it, so he didn’t pay it any mind.

Now it seems that the foot of that mountain is where the registration takes place.

Just then, the pig demon, holding a plate woven from dry grass, walked up to Jiang Lan.

“Esteemed Guest, mutton.”

Saying that, he placed the plate in front of Jiang Lan.

Jiang Lan looked down and almost threw up.

The dry grass that originally formed the plate should have been withered yellow.

But now, it had been soaked in oil until it was pitch black, even reflecting light from its darkness.

Moreover, it emitted a decaying odor.

Then there was the meat on the plate; he didn't know how it was cooked, but it not only looked unappetizing, its smell was also indescribably bad.

Let alone Jiang Lan, if any human were to come across this, they wouldn't have an appetite.

And also… Jiang Lan narrowed his eyes.

This didn't look like mutton.

Neither the muscle texture nor the fat content was anything like lamb.

“Are you sure this is lamb?”

Jiang Lan raised his eyes, looking at the pig demon with a cold gaze.

The pig demon froze for a moment, then forced a smile and said:

“It’s the real deal, Esteemed Guest.”

Jiang Lan didn’t speak.

Two breaths later, he suddenly erupted, grabbing the pig demon by the collar with a Wolf Cub paw and slamming his head onto the table.

“Say that again, what is this?” A cold killing intent flashed in Jiang Lan’s eyes.

Before, he couldn't be sure.

But now, it seemed this pig demon definitely had ill intentions.

This meat was most likely human.

“You dare to cause trouble here?” The pig demon’s head was pressed against the table, but he showed no panic, instead, he sternly and loudly reprimanded Jiang Lan.

“I kindly made you lamb. Are two-legged sheep not sheep?” The pig demon continued, “If you dare to lay a hand on me, Pig Grandpa will make sure you don’t leave this room today.”

Jiang Lan’s eyes flickered.

This pig, in his eyes, had already been sentenced to death.

However, he couldn’t act now.

This place was the territory of the Ten Thousand Demons Hall.

Perhaps there were Disciples of the Ten Thousand Demons Hall eating here.

If he were to go on a killing spree here… Since there was a structured city and corresponding order, this place must have laws.

Acting now might cause trouble.

“Hoo…”

Jiang Lan let out a long breath, actually letting go of the pig demon.

He wore a forced smile.

“My apologies, I misunderstood you, brother.”

“You think a simple apology will suffice?” The pig demon glared, “Beat him!”

As he called out, many demons gathered from all corners of the restaurant. Judging by their attire, they seemed to be the staff here.

“Brother Pig, calm down.” Jiang Lan pulled the pig demon, “Tell me, how can we settle this matter today?”

“Settle it?” A glint of greed flashed in the pig demon’s eyes, “One hundred blood pills, and Pig Grandpa will let you go.”

Jiang Lan reached into his bosom and held out the pills he had previously collected from the three demons.

“One hundred is too many. Are these enough?”

The pig demon looked down, his greed intensifying.

But he still said:

“Are you trying to fob off a beggar? If you don’t have enough, why don’t you ask other demons to chip in? I’m telling you, if you don’t gather enough today, you Wolf Cub won’t be leaving this door!”

“I’ll gather them! But you have to give me some time. How about this, you take these, Brother Pig, and I’ll go back to gather the rest right now. I’ll be back within two quarter-hours and give you everything else. What do you think?”

The pig demon glared.

“Do you think your Pig Grandpa is stupid? If you run away, where will Pig Grandpa find you?”

“You can have two people follow me to retrieve them, couldn’t you?”

The pig demon’s not-so-bright mind turned, “You’re quite clever. Niu Bao, Gou Bao, follow him.”

As the pig demon finished speaking, a waiter with an ox head and another with a dog head stepped forward.

“Alright, boss.”

“Go quickly, and keep an eye on him!”

The pig demon sternly ordered, completely devoid of his earlier amiable demeanor.

The ox and dog repeatedly agreed.

“Yes!”

Saying that, the two demons escorted Jiang Lan out the door.

As for the other diners in the restaurant, they seemed to be accustomed to such scenes, continuing to eat and drink as usual, completely unaffected.

“I’m telling you, don’t try any tricks. If you dare to run, and the boss catches you later, you won’t have a good time!”

The dog demon also changed from his previous subservient demeanor in front of the pig demon, acting emboldened by the pig’s authority.

“I won’t run, I won’t run.”

Jiang Lan walked ahead, his expression grim, but his tone remained unchanged.

He led the two demons through several twists and turns, entering a secluded spot.

“There’s nothing here. Why did you bring us brothers here?”

Jiang Lan did not answer, but instead stopped and turned to look at the two demons.

Under the gaze of his grayish-white pupils, both demons seemed a bit uncomfortable.

But the dog demon still mustered his courage and said:

“I’m talking to you, are you deaf?”

Jiang Lan finally spoke.

“I brought you two here because I want to borrow something from you.”

“You want to borrow something from me?” The dog demon’s smile was full of disdain, “Tell me, what do you want to borrow?”

“I want to… borrow your dog life for a moment.”

The moment the words fell, Jiang Lan’s pair of Wolf Cub paws moved instantly.

Under the astonished gaze of the ox and dog, Jiang Lan pressed his two paws, one on each side, onto the heads of the two demons in front of him, then exerted force.

“Thud!”

The two demons’ heads violently collided, instantly caving in. Brain matter spurted from their ear holes, and they completely lost all signs of life.

Casually tossing the corpses aside, Jiang Lan clapped his hands.

As the saying goes, a gentleman’s revenge is never too late, even after ten years.

But Jiang Lan was no gentleman.

When it came to revenge, let alone ten years, he didn’t even want to wait ten breaths.

The System light screen appeared, flashing two lines of text, but Jiang Lan didn’t look closely.

Just two Bone Refinement demons, at most twenty or thirty years each, nothing interesting.

With a thought, Jiang Lan’s wolf head visibly changed, and his figure also transformed.

His entire body of silver-white wolf fur turned into black feathers, and his wolf head became a pitch-black Crow Demon head.

The reason he left the restaurant was for this.

He felt the wolf demon form was quite suitable for him.

If he had directly slaughtered the restaurant, the wolf demon form would no longer be usable.

However, solving it was simple.

Just change identities, wouldn’t that work?

The prototype of his current appearance was the Crow Demon in the Great Yan imperial palace.

However, Jiang Lan had made some slight changes based on the Crow Demon.

Jiang Lan looked up at the alley entrance.

This place was quite secluded, with no demons passing by.

So everything he had just done was naturally not seen by any other demons.

Jiang Lan was too lazy to change clothes. He took large strides and walked directly towards the restaurant.
