191: Welcoming party

Seeing Mang Tianba and Fu Tianyuan, the two rows of demons at the entrance bowed their heads and said in unison:

“Hall Master Mang! Hall Master Fu!”

The two seemed to be accustomed to it and showed no special reaction.

However, Jiang Lan found all of this quite novel.

He hadn't expected a demon organization to have such strict discipline.

This kind of discipline clearly couldn't be trained in a day or two; it required years of accumulation.

In the demon world, some places were vastly different from the human world, but others were surprisingly similar.

Under their lead, Jiang Lan passed through the two rows of guards and headed straight for the main hall.

Upon entering, he found a huge hall with a massive chair placed in the very center.

Below, on either side, many demons still stood.

Though referred to as demons, all of them were above the Mortal Shedding Realm and had transformed into human form.

On the huge chair in the very center sat a middle-aged man dressed in a yellow robe embroidered with a Dragon.

The man exuded an Aura of natural authority, and his face was full of the demeanor of a superior.

Unlike the others present, this middle-aged man, though in human form, had two noticeable protrusions, one on the left and one on the right, on his forehead.

The protrusions were distinct, about half a finger in length, and brown in color.

If one had to describe them, they somewhat resembled antlers.

Looking at the appearance of the middle-aged man on the throne, Jiang Lan had a faint guess about his identity.

This creature was probably a Flood Dragon.

Jiang Lan was no stranger to Flood Dragons.

He had encountered one before when he was in Yan Country.

However, that little Flood Dragon was very weak in strength and completely incomparable to the one before him.

Moreover, according to legend, if a Flood Dragon's horns fully grew, it could transform into a true Dragon, capable of summoning clouds and rain.

Looking at the middle-aged man on the throne, Mang Tianba and Fu Tianyuan both bowed.

Seeing this, Jiang Lan followed suit.

After all, arriving in a new place, it was best not to be too conspicuous.

Furthermore, this Alliance Leader before him was indeed much stronger than him.

“Alliance Leader.”

“Hmm.” On the throne, the Alliance Leader raised his hand, “There’s no need for these formalities.”

As he spoke, he looked at Jiang Lan.

“Is it you who wishes to join my Luan Yao Alliance?”

?

Didn’t you guys force me to join?

How did it become that I wanted to join your Luan Yao Alliance when it came out of your mouth?

No wonder you can be the boss; you lie without even batting an eye.

Jiang Lan grumbled inwardly, but on the surface, he still spoke with respect in his tone:

“It is I.”

At this moment, Jiang Lan no longer concealed himself, dispelling the disguise of the Hidden God Art, and his vast Aura of a Core Formation Peak cultivator spread out.

The others present, upon feeling the Aura emanating from Jiang Lan, all showed a slight change in expression.

Only the middle-aged man on the throne and the two standing close to the throne remained unfazed.

Jiang Lan observed this and pondered inwardly.

Three Demon Infants.

This force could truly be considered formidable.

One must know that Yellow Demon Peak, where Jiang Lan was previously, only had Elder Huang, a single Demon Infant.

Yet, in this one room, there were three.

To put it bluntly, if this room full of people went out, flattening Yellow Demon Peak would be effortless.

Feeling the Aura radiating from Jiang Lan, the leading middle-aged man's gaze revealed a hint of appreciation.

“Good! Since you’ve joined the Luan Yao Alliance, we are all brothers! Someone, prepare a feast! To welcome Wolf Brother!”

Jiang Lan was stunned.

Was this progression a bit too fast?

Was this considered joining the Luan Yao Alliance?

Were there no procedural steps?

One difference between demons and humans lay here.

These demons generally didn't care much for formalities.

As long as it worked.

Anyway, the goal was achieved, so the process didn't matter.

“Yes!”

Inside the main hall, several demons stepped forward and agreed, then walked directly to the second floor.

The middle-aged man also stood up and walked towards the stairs.

“Come, come, Wolf Brother Lang Qing, upstairs, upstairs.”

Mang Tianba called out to Jiang Lan from the side.

Jiang Lan nodded and followed the group towards the stairs.

Upon reaching the second floor, Jiang Lan looked around again.

The structure was similar to the main hall on the first floor, except that where the demons had stood on either side, there were now tables and chairs.

In the very center, there was also a huge throne, with an exceptionally luxurious long table placed in front of it.

“Come, come, Wolf Brother, take a seat.”

Mang Tianba called out again, leading Jiang Lan to a table.

The table was very close to the front, in the third row.

Jiang Lan also realized that the seating in this place was likely arranged according to strength.

Below the huge throne, the first row consisted of two Demon Infants.

The second row also had two Peak Demon Cores.

However, presumably due to seniority, even though Jiang Lan was also a Peak Demon Core, he was still arranged in the third row.

Throughout this, no one said anything; everything was very natural.

It was as if this spot was originally meant for Jiang Lan.

A hint of understanding arose in Jiang Lan's heart.

This place was quite good; there was no scheming, no seniority-based ranking, everything was based on strength.

This was a good thing for Jiang Lan.

At the very least, he wouldn't have to engage in those overt and covert struggles.

He had no interest in such matters.

Jiang Lan's purpose in coming here was very clear.

To accumulate lifespan.

Jiang Lan had also considered catching lone demons in the wild.

However, that would be too slow.

Instead of spending time catching lone demons, it was better to do it like this, achieving it in one go.

The demons all took their seats, but they were all very quiet, not a single one spoke, and none came up to curry favor with Jiang Lan.

At this moment, the middle-aged man in the main seat said:

“Wolf Brother, from today onwards, you will be the Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall. Do you have any objections?”

Jiang Lan shook his head.

“It's all up to Alliance Leader’s arrangements.”

“Hahaha!” The middle-aged man laughed several times, slamming the table, “Good! Then it's settled. After the banquet, Mang Tianba will take you to the Law Enforcement Hall to familiarize yourself with it.”

Having casually decided Jiang Lan's position, the middle-aged man raised his hand again and said:

“Alright, stop being so tense.”

As soon as his voice fell, the second floor, which had been so quiet that a pin drop could be heard, suddenly became bustling with noise.

Many demons also stood up and came to Jiang Lan's table.

“Wolf Brother, my name is Scar Dog, Hall Master of the Po Jun Hall. Please take care of me in the future!”

“Wolf Brother…”

“Wolf Brother…”

Many came to greet him, and Jiang Lan greeted each of them in turn.

It seemed that this place was not entirely devoid of social etiquette.

After a while, Jiang Lan had essentially recognized everyone on this second floor.

At this point, demons began to descend from upstairs, carrying trays which they placed on each table.

Then, Mang Tianba whispered in Jiang Lan's ear:

“Alliance Leader does not like to eat humans, so there is never human flesh at banquets. If you wish to eat it, I will take you to a good human flesh shop later.”

Jiang Lan fell silent for a moment.

If Mang Tianba hadn't mentioned it, he would have forgotten that demons ate humans.

But it was fine; at least this Flood Dragon didn't eat humans.

A moment later, he said:

“I also do not like to eat humans.”
