210: Almost older than me.

It was mid-shenshi.

Black Demon and White Demon rushed back to the hall, bowed to Jiang Lan, and reported:

"Hall Master, today's suspects have all been apprehended."

Jiang Lan looked at the two and asked:

"Do the ones caught this time all have backgrounds?"

"Reporting to the adult, the subordinates captured all unattached demons today."

The stir Jiang Lan caused at the Luan Yao Alliance today was not small, and the two naturally knew about it.

So, today, they specifically sought out those without backgrounds.

As for why they could find so many suspects...

In reality, few demons who enter the Luan Mo Region have clean records.

Aside from a very small number of indigenous inhabitants like Cui Yushan, most are those who committed offenses outside and then fled to the Luan Mo Region.

They were never peace-loving individuals to begin with; if one were to investigate, those demons who had reached a Realm would surely have committed some sordid deeds, more or less.

It's just that before, if the people didn't report, the officials didn't investigate, and the Law Enforcement Hall saw no need to cause trouble for itself.

But now that Jiang Lan has taken charge, the people of the Law Enforcement Hall, no matter how much they wish to continue as before, can no longer do so.

They had no doubt that if the numbers caught were insufficient, Jiang Lan would surely make them the scapegoats.

Other people's lives were certainly not as important as their own.

On this point, the few subordinates under Jiang Lan were quite clear.

Therefore, by simply reviewing old cases on record, catching a few Mortal Shedding demons was still not difficult.

However, old cases would eventually run out.

So, while apprehending people, they were also investigating if there were any new cases.

"Not bad."

Jiang Lan looked at Black Demon and White Demon with an appreciative gaze and stood up.

"Are they all in the prison cells?"

"Reporting to the adult, yes!"

"Hmm, I'll go take a look. Remember to have someone clean up the prison cells later."

"Yes!"

Jiang Lan walked out of the main hall and headed straight for the prison cells at the back.

The prison cells had a considerable architectural area, divided into twenty compartments.

There were guards at the entrance. Upon seeing Jiang Lan, the guard respectfully said:

"Hall Master."

Jiang Lan did not respond, only nodded slightly.

The guard was sensible and directly handed over the keys he held.

Jiang Lan took them and walked into the interior of the prison cells.

The first five compartments all held suspects.

The suspects were bound to pillars, their shoulder blades pierced by iron hooks, and a Demon Sealing Nail was stuck in the back of their necks.

This Demon Sealing Nail had a similar effect to the Qi-Sealing Needle in the human world.

Once it was inserted, no matter how great one's abilities, they would be completely unable to exert them.

Coupled with the shoulder blades being pierced by iron hooks, under this double safeguard, the demons caught and brought into the prison cells were almost no different from cripples.

Even a Mortal Shedding Realm demon, once inside the prison, could be easily killed by someone at the Bone Refinement Realm.

Jiang Lan stood outside the prison cell.

The five captured demons were almost at their last gasp; two of the higher Realm ones could barely open their eyes to look at Jiang Lan.

The other three had already fainted, leaning against the wooden stakes, covered in blood.

They looked utterly miserable.

However, Jiang Lan certainly wouldn't feel any pity for these demons.

He knew very well that those not of his race must have different intentions.

Even towards Cui Yushan and the others, Jiang Lan could not offer his true feelings.

In Jiang Lan's eyes, Cui Yushan, Black Demon, White Demon, and the others were merely his pawns.

When they had use, Jiang Lan naturally wouldn't do anything to them.

But if they lost their utility, Jiang Lan wouldn't mind directly killing them to accumulate more Lifespan for himself.

Only Wang Erniu, in Jiang Lan's eyes, was a decent servant.

Mainly, Wang Erniu's Realm was truly not impressive; even if he killed her, he wouldn't gain much Lifespan.

Those few years, casually killing any demon would bring it back.

Moreover, Wang Erniu had signed a Blood Pact with him, and Jiang Lan felt a subtle Bloodline connection to her.

Of course, if Jiang Lan wished, he could sever this connection at any time.

Thinking to himself, Jiang Lan looked at the prison cells.

He pulled out the keys, casually opened a prison door, and walked in.

Inside the prison cell, it was exceptionally foul-smelling; the dried blood mixed with the smell of feces was overwhelming.

However, Jiang Lan had been in this Demon Domain for quite some time, so he was somewhat accustomed to the smell and wasn't as repulsed as he was initially.

But it certainly wasn't pleasant to smell.

He walked to the wooden stake.

Tied to the stake was what appeared to be a young man, with an unremarkable face; aside from being a bit long, there was nothing memorable about him.

However, beneath him, something was prominently bulging.

"Tsk... Is this the donkey demon White Demon caught? Seems like a lecherous thief?"

Jiang Lan looked at the donkey demon's lower body, clicking his tongue in wonder.

This donkey demon was almost as impressive as him.

Without further hesitation, Jiang Lan waved his hand, and a wisp of solidified True Qi immediately flew from his hand, like a steel needle, directly piercing the donkey demon's glabella.

Instantly, a transparent hole appeared in the center of the donkey demon's glabella, with blood gushing out.

Currently, Jiang Lan had reached the Nascent Soul Realm, and his use of True Qi required no external guidance; it was as if he had known it from birth.

Solidifying True Qi and shaping it into various forms was merely the most Elementary application of True Qi.

If Jiang Lan wished, he could even use True Qi to manually construct a Gundam.

Though it certainly wouldn't be able to operate.

[Killed a Mortal Shedding Sixth-Stage Donkey Demon, gained two thousand seven hundred sixty-eight years of Lifespan.]

[Remaining Lifespan: two thousand seven hundred sixty-nine years.]

After killing Hall Master Chan, he had used Lifespan to advance his Realm once more, returning to square one.

However, after killing this donkey demon, Jiang Lan's Lifespan was once again abundant.

A smile appeared on Jiang Lan's face.

Heh heh... One down, four to go.

Black Demon, White Demon, and the others were quite capable.

Jiang Lan felt that even if he increased their workload a bit, they would probably still be able to complete it.

How about... doubling the number tomorrow?

This thought had barely surfaced before Jiang Lan dismissed it.

He wasn't some heinous capitalist; although Jiang Lan's current subordinates were all demons, he couldn't really push them to their absolute limits.

He didn't care about provoking a backlash.

What he cared about was, if these few died, wouldn't he lose the people who worked for him?

Jiang Lan could still discern which was more appropriate: a steady flow or killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Putting those thoughts aside, Jiang Lan came to the second prison cell.

"Pfft!"

With a soft sound, the second suspect instantly died.

[Killed a Mortal Shedding Fourth-Stage Deer Demon, gained two thousand two hundred thirty-one years of Lifespan.]

[Remaining Lifespan: five thousand years.]

Hmm... Jiang Lan looked at the remaining Lifespan column and raised an eyebrow.

The System rounds numbers like this?
