26: Chapter 26 Preparations Before the Apocalypse 1
Gu Yanchen took the money and left, not intending to listen to his long-winded lecture and hurt his ears.
Just then, a series of screams came from the Basement, but Gu Yanchen didn't hear a single bit of it.
The next day, Su Yue inspected the main gate that Uncle Butler had people reinforce, as well as the heightened and reinforced perimeter wall. Looking at the bare wall, she always felt like something was missing.
That's right, she could add some electric wire fencing around the perimeter; that way, if zombies came, they would be electrocuted.
Su Yue suddenly felt that she was too smart.
She said to Uncle Butler behind her, "Uncle Butler, go and get some electric fencing installed around the perimeter wall."
"Miss, I will go and have people do it right away." Upon hearing this, Uncle Butler didn't have any major questions, assuming she just felt the security here wasn't safe enough and wanted to increase the safety factor.
"It would be best if it could be finished before noon!"
Su Yue added, feeling that the zombies would appear before tomorrow.
She took out her phone and called Gu Yanchen: "Bring Mother Gu to my house."
She had suddenly changed her mind; the RV was for escaping, and placing Mother Gu there was not as safe as being inside the house.
On the other end, Gu Yanchen didn't ask much; he did whatever Su Yue said, knowing that, in any case, she wouldn't harm Mother Gu.
Su Yue also had the servants go to the Supermarket to shop extravagantly, buying back everything that could be purchased with money.
After arranging everything, she remembered that there was still a Basement in the house that led directly outside.
She had Uncle Butler buy a refrigerator and a generator, then clean out the Basement and put them down there.
She went to the RV in the backyard to take a look around, feeling that the preparations were just about done.
She called Liu Xiu and Lin Xi to come to her house to visit Mother Gu; this excuse was more convincing.
"Ding-dong," the doorbell rang.
Seeing Mother Gu and Gu Yanchen arrive by ambulance, Su Yue had people carry Mother Gu to the first floor; she had already instructed Uncle Butler yesterday to clean up the rooms for Mother Gu and Gu Yanchen.
"Su Yue, I've really caused you trouble. I didn't know A-Yan was bringing me to your house until the ambulance arrived at your door."
Mother Gu lay on the bed, looking much better, and said apologetically.
If she had known A-Yan was bringing her to Su Yue's house, she would never have come, even if it killed her.
Two people like them staying at a young girl's house, what was that supposed to mean?
"Auntie, it was I who asked him to bring you over. Just treat this as your own home and stay here with peace of mind."
Su Yue didn't think there was anything wrong with it; she was just doing her best to protect the people she wanted to protect.
"Mom, just stay here with peace of mind."
Mother Gu still wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Gu Yanchen.
Mother Gu felt that it simply wasn't right and couldn't get past that hurdle in her heart.
"Auntie, rest for a while first, I'll come to see you in a bit."
Su Yue gave Gu Yanchen a look, and Gu Yanchen understood.
"Ding-dong," the doorbell rang again.
This time, it was Liu Xiu and Lin Xi who arrived.
Looking at the luxurious Villa, a sense of inferiority welled up in Lin Xi: "Su Yue, I'm here. Your house is really beautiful."
Su Yue said half-jokingly, "If you like it, stay and don't leave."
Lin Xi hurriedly waved her hands, "Better not."
Liu Xiu followed behind Lin Xi, just like a knight.
Why not say he was a Prince Charming? Because the Tang Monk also rode a white horse.
The three of them snuggled on the sofa, eating snacks and watching a movie; the funny scenes made them all burst into laughter.
Gu Yanchen finished comforting Mother Gu and came out to see this scene.
"Come over quickly, this movie is so funny!"
Su Yue's cheeks were stuffed full of snacks, moving as she chewed, just like a little hamster; she was incredibly cute.
Gu Yanchen walked over and couldn't help but gently pinch her cheek.
He didn't expect her skin to be so delicate; it even left a red mark.
Gu Yanchen felt incredibly guilty and heartbroken.
He rubbed it for her, but discovered her face turned even redder, scaring him so much he didn't dare to move.
Su Yue chuckled, "It's fine, you don't need to blame yourself; it just means this big sister's skin is too good."
Gu Yanchen suddenly remembered something and pulled Su Yue aside.
Seeing them all watching, Su Yue waved her hand, "You two keep watching the movie, we'll be back in a bit."
In the backyard, Su Yue bear-hugged Gu Yanchen, her breath spraying against his neck, causing his whole body to stiffen. He didn't dare to move the hand supporting her bottom, afraid she would fall off.
"What? Did you miss me!"
[Little enchantress, you really know how to torture people; I'm anxious online!]
Receiving his inner thoughts, Su Yue looked up and laughed, tears streaming down her face, "Gu Yanchen, you are too funny!"
Gu Yanchen was baffled by her laughter; he set her down and took a bank card out of his pocket to give to her.
Su Yue was stunned: "What are you doing?"
Gu Yanchen said awkwardly, "For you to spend. Although it's not much, I will earn more money for you to spend!"
Su Yue knew he must have gone to fight in illegal boxing matches again; she hurriedly pulled at his clothes, and seeing that the injuries on his body were still the previous ones, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"You went to fight illegal boxing matches again?"
"Mn," Gu Yanchen nodded.
Su Yue put on a fierce face, "How did you promise me last time?"
Gu Yanchen remained silent, because he had nothing to say.
Su Yue wasn't actually angry at him; she was just slightly annoyed that he didn't take his own body seriously.
"Hmph." Su Yue snorted coldly at him, tossed her long hair, and walked away, intending to let him reflect on it by himself.
