49: Chapter 49 Zombie Siege

After seeing that Lin Xi was asleep, Su Yue got out of the car. Her gaze swept casually over the mountain of zombie corpses by the roadside, then looked at the zombies surrounding them that dared not approach.

She understood in her heart that these zombies likely dared not approach easily because they were wary of the power of that extra-large gun.

Su Yue tilted her head slightly to look at Gu Yanchen, who was inspecting the vehicle, and asked softly, "How is it? Can it be fixed?"

Gu Yanchen was carefully checking the faulty parts of the car. He turned to look at Su Yue and instructed, "It will take some time to fix. Baby, go back to the car and sit."

Despite having that powerful extra-large gun, Gu Yanchen still dared not let Su Yue be exposed to any potential danger.

If anything sudden were to happen, it would be safer in the car for the time being.

Su Yue obediently returned to the car. Not long after, she heard a low growl coming from outside.

She hurriedly got out of the car to check and discovered a group of extremely fast Mutated Zombies rushing towards them.

"Get in the car!" Gu Yanchen shouted at her, immediately picking up the extra-large gun and firing at the zombie horde.

However, these Mutated Zombies seemed to possess some special ability, allowing them to easily dodge the bullets.

Su Yue's heart was in her throat. She had no choice but to obediently scramble back into the car and lock the back door.

Liu Xiu, holding Lin Xi, asked nervously, "Are the zombies here again?"

"Yes," Su Yue nodded, watching the situation outside with trepidation.

She also wanted to help, but was afraid of becoming a burden to them.

The situation became critical. Gu Yanchen and Lian Boyu had to fight while retreating, looking for another way out.

Suddenly, a Mutated Zombie rushed in front of Lian Boyu, pouncing on him with bared fangs and claws.

Lian Boyu was so scared that he closed his eyes, thinking his life was over.

Gu Yanchen quickly ran toward Lian Boyu and blocked him behind his back. He pulled the trigger, only to find that the extra-large gun was out of ammunition, so he had to fight the zombies with his bare hands.

Gu Yanchen dodged the zombie's attack to the side, then kicked it to the ground.

But more zombies swarmed over, and he gradually began to lose stamina.

"Gu Yanchen!" Lian Boyu snapped out of it, picked up a wooden stick, and charged toward the zombie horde.

"Careful!" Gu Yanchen shouted.

Lian Boyu swung the stick with all his might and knocked down a few zombies. However, one zombie took the opportunity to pounce on him, scaring him into wailing, "Don't eat me, my meat doesn't taste good!"

What a coward!

Seeing this, Gu Yanchen violently pushed away the zombies in front of him and rushed over to save Lian Boyu from the zombie's jaws.

"We must leave here as soon as possible! Otherwise, we will all die here." Gu Yanchen glanced at the growing zombie horde; they were simply not something they could handle.

"There seems to be a small path over here that can lead to the other side!"

Just then, Su Yue got out of the car, followed closely by Liu Xiu, who was still holding Lin Xi in his arms.

She pointed to a small path obscured by trees in the back, which was almost impossible to notice without careful observation.

"You go! I'll handle the rear guard." Gu Yanchen urged them anxiously, while simultaneously picking up stones from the ground and throwing them fiercely at the pursuing zombie horde.

"A-Yan, come with us." Su Yue was burning with anxiety. She adamantly refused to leave him alone here to fight the zombies and was unwilling to leave no matter what.

"Lian Boyu, take Su Yue and go quickly." Seeing the zombies gradually closing in, Gu Yanchen shouted anxiously.

Lian Boyu looked at him deeply, his eyes full of worry and unease, but he still resolutely pulled Su Yue and sped toward the small path.

Su Yue tried to break free from Lian Boyu's restraint and turned to run back, but heard Lian Boyu say, "If you go back, you will only be a burden to him."

Su Yue stopped in her tracks, tears gushing out like a broken dam. Her face was covered in tear stains, and her heart was filled with confusion, not knowing what to do.

Lian Boyu led Su Yue and the others, running desperately along the small path, with the roar of zombies echoing in their ears.

"We can't just leave Gu Yanchen behind like this!" Su Yue said, suddenly crying.

"But if we go back now, we're just walking to our deaths." Lian Boyu said with a helpless expression.

Suddenly, a building appeared in front. Lian Boyu squinted to look and saw that it was actually a dilapidated Temple.

"It should be enough to block the zombies, let's hurry inside and take shelter."

The door of the Temple was slowly closed, blocking the zombies chasing from behind.

Su Yue leaned against the wall, tears streaming down her face, praying that Gu Yanchen would be safe and sound.

Gu Yanchen fought desperately against wave after wave of zombies rushing in like a tide. Every swing of his weapon required immense effort, but the zombie horde seemed endless, constantly swarming forward.

Gradually, he felt his strength depleting, and his breathing became heavy and rapid.

Just then, a cunning zombie caught him off guard, suddenly pouncing from the side and knocking him to the ground.

At the same time, more zombies swarmed toward Gu Yanchen.

Their eyes flashed with greedy light, and they emitted low growls from their mouths, as if they had smelled the scent of fresh flesh.

Gu Yanchen's heart rate accelerated, and fear permeated his entire body.

He tried his best to hold off the zombies approaching his neck, while seeing more and more zombies closing in on him from the corner of his eye.
