29: Chapter 29 The Apocalypse Has Arrived
"You deserve to be beaten to death!" Su Yue glared at him fiercely and turned to get the medical kit.
She secretly wiped away her tears. He really was completely disobedient. Underground boxing matches could easily cost him his life. Did he think he was a cat? That he had nine lives to squander!
"I knew Baby cared about me," Gu Yanchen said, following her and trying to curry favor.
"Sit still!" Su Yue said fiercely.
Gu Yanchen liked the way she acted fierce toward him; in his eyes, it was especially cute!
Su Yue: "I'm afraid you might be a masochist!"
Su Yue carefully treated his wounds, tears streaming down her face from heartache.
"Don't cry, Baby. See, I'm fine, aren't I?"
Gu Yanchen couldn't bear to see her cry; it just broke his heart.
Su Yue threatened, "If you go again next time, don't bother coming back!"
Gu Yanchen: "I promise to listen!"
He was afraid that if he told her the truth about this matter, Su Yue would worry even more.
Half an hour later, Su Yue finished simply treating his wounds and urged him to go back to sleep, because there was still a tough battle to fight tomorrow.
Gu Yanchen pointed to his cheek and acted shamelessly, "Kiss me, Baby, and I'll go back."
Su Yue found his shameless, dog-like behavior amusing and kissed him.
"Are you satisfied now? Hurry up and go back to sleep."
Gu Yanchen touched the spot she had kissed, his eyes crinkling with a smile, "Understood, Baby. I'm going back now."
The corners of Su Yue's mouth lifted, and her eyes seemed to hold a brilliant light, exceptionally bright.
Gu Yanchen was momentarily stunned and couldn't move his feet; it was Su Yue who had to chase him out.
Lying on the large bed, Su Yue found herself unable to sleep; she had a premonition that the Apocalypse had already arrived.
She picked up the binoculars she had asked Uncle Butler to buy that afternoon and walked to the window to look at the situation outside.
Sure enough, she saw a few people with sluggish movements wandering around outside the perimeter wall.
The few people seemed to have a sixth sense and looked up toward Su Yue on the second floor.
Su Yue was so startled by the suddenly appearing zombie face that she cursed, "Holy crap, are they that sensitive?"
Now she was even less able to sleep. She checked the house inside and out, and upon discovering that the zombies couldn't get in, she felt much more at ease.
"Baby, it's so late, why aren't you asleep yet?"
Gu Yanchen's voice suddenly sounded from behind her. Su Yue was so startled she patted her chest repeatedly, "You scared me to death, you scared me to death."
"Gu Yanchen, are you a ghost? You walk without making a sound!"
Gu Yanchen apologized sincerely, "I scared you, Baby. It's my fault."
He was a light sleeper; upon hearing footsteps outside, he had gone out to check and discovered it was Su Yue.
Su Yue couldn't be bothered to argue with him and shoved a pair of binoculars into his hand, "Since you aren't asleep either, come with me to the second floor and see what's happening outside."
Seeing her rather serious expression, Gu Yanchen knew how important the matter was.
Second Floor
The two of them looked at the zombies gathering outside again, their expressions very grim.
Gu Yanchen couldn't help but curse, "Damn, it really is zombies!"
Su Yue had an expression that said, "I knew you would react like that."
"Knock, knock." The door was knocked on urgently from the outside.
"Miss, are you asleep?"
"Uncle Butler, I'm not asleep yet."
Su Yue tossed the binoculars to Gu Yanchen and got up to open the door.
"Miss, there are so many people gathered outside—no, that's not right, they aren't people," Uncle Butler said, still feeling lingering fear.
When he was watching the security footage, he thought it was some people's prank. He hadn't expected them to actually bite people; he was scared out of his wits.
He hadn't even put on his shoes before rushing up to report to the Miss.
"I know. Uncle Butler, don't panic. They can't get in for now, we are safe."
Uncle Butler recalled the things the Miss had asked them to purchase over the past few days and couldn't help but admire her foresight.
But then again, how did the Miss know that this day would come?
Uncle Butler had a stomach full of questions he wanted to ask, but he knew that as a servant, he had no right to question his master.
Su Yue instructed, "Uncle Butler, please have them not make too much noise and tell them not to go out tomorrow."
"Also, everything in the house that needs refrigeration should be refrigerated so it doesn't spoil. That will be enough for us to eat for a long time."
"I'll go arrange it right away." Uncle Butler hurried downstairs, almost tripping, but fortunately, he caught himself on the stairs.
Su Yue turned back and saw him staring at her intently, knowing he had become suspicious of her.
"Is there something you want to ask me?"
"Baby, have you experienced something before?" That would explain why you know everything, Gu Yanchen silently added in his heart.
"What if I told you I have the ability to foresee the future?"
[Wow, my Baby is truly amazing, she actually has superpowers. I feel like I'm not good enough for Baby, so sad!]
Listening to his inner voice, Su Yue's heart, which had been tight, suddenly relaxed.
She hadn't expected Gu Yanchen not to treat her like a monster, but instead think she was amazing; the power of love was truly strong!
She had certainly chosen the right person to rely on; how blind could she have been in her past life to let such a good man go!
Gu Yanchen praised her, "Then Baby is truly amazing!"
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" was absolutely correct!
"Right? Since your Baby is so amazing, you'd better keep a close watch on her!"
"Absolutely!"
The two looked at each other and smiled, the flames of love in their eyes burning brighter and brighter.
This night was destined to be an extraordinary one.
