113: Demonic possession

Gu Yuchuan's arrogance caused everyone's expressions to shift. They now had to admit that the Serpent demon before them possessed the strength to kill them. However, they were unwilling to accept this; after striving for so many years, were they really going to die here? This was absolutely unacceptable. A look of grim resolve appeared in Chigu Demon General's eyes.

"What a Serpent demon! To look down on us so much... today, I'll show you my methods. Heavenly Demon Transformation, rise!"

The sky turned dark as boundless black mist surged from Chigu Demon General, enveloping him in an incredibly eerie manner. Fortunately, Gu Yuchuan had already become a Serpent and possessed his own Legacy. He recognized this as Devilish Qi, yet he wondered—weren't there no longer any Demonic Cultivators in the Qingyun Realm?

In ancient times, the Qingyun Realm was home to humans, demons, and devils alike. The struggle between the Righteous Path and the Demonic Path of the Human Race was even more intense than the conflict between the Human Race and the Yao Race. There was even a period when a Devil Head known as the Heavenly Demon Demonic Lord rose among the Human Race, suppressing countless Cultivators of the same rank alone and forcing the Righteous Path and the Yao Race to join forces just to survive.

Later, the Human Race petitioned an expert from the Upper Realm to send down Divine Lightning to slay the Heavenly Demon Demonic Lord. From then on, the Demonic Path's momentum vanished, and they were wiped out by the combined forces of the Human Race and the Yao Race. Countless Legacies of the Demonic Path were destroyed. Although there are still Evil Path Cultivators among humans today, what they Cultivate has absolutely nothing to do with the Demonic Path; they practice heterodox and side paths, which are still considered methods within the various Righteous Paths of the heavens.

However, the Demonic Path had actually reappeared now, and on a mere Demon General at that. The Heavenly Demon Transformation was a secret technique of the Heavenly Demon Dao Palace, founded by the Heavenly Demon Demonic Lord. For a moment, Gu Yuchuan felt a sense of unease.

He knew that the Heavenly Demon Demonic Venerable had single-handedly set the entire cultivation world back by a thousand years. Such a ruthless figure was not someone he could handle. The killing power of the Demonic Path was legendary; no one could say for sure how much Chigu Demon General's strength would increase after he entered the Demonic Path.

At this moment, a mass of black mist had completely enveloped Chigu Demon General. It wasn't just Gu Yuchuan who felt uneasy; the other Demon Generals were also deeply troubled. They had no idea that their eldest brother was a hidden Demonic Cultivator and were momentarily at a loss for what to do. Gu Yuchuan, however, thought of something.

"The few of you have actually colluded with a Demonic Cultivator. Do you have any idea what kind of crime that is? If the Demon Emperor finds out, he will personally come to deal with you."

They were already pondering this issue, and having Gu Yuchuan point it out made them even more frantic. This was especially true for Bixian Demon General; she and Chigu had even shared intimate relations, and their relationship was quite close. Even if she survived today, she wouldn't escape the inevitable reckoning later on.

Seeing that they could no longer maintain their composure, Gu Yuchuan felt much better and continued, "If you atone for your crimes now by helping me deal with this Devil Head, you might still have a chance to live. Otherwise, you know exactly what your end will be."

At that moment, the black mist on Chigu Demon General dissipated completely. He had transformed into a pure black, strange fish with horns on its head and several disgusting tentacles on its body. It did not look like anything natural, causing Gu Yuchuan to frown.

His voice had also become quite raspy. "You lot... I have been good enough to you, leading you to earn money and Cultivate. With your Aptitude, which of you could have reached your current Realm without my guidance? Now, you actually want to betray me? It seems you have no need to live anymore."

Bixian Demon General spoke up immediately: "A Devil Head is someone everyone has the right to kill! Before, you were our respected elder brother, so we naturally helped you. But now that you are a Devil Head—though we aren't exactly virtuous people—we know very well that Devil Heads are our enemies. We can still distinguish right from wrong when it comes to the big picture."

The strange fish's expression grew even more hideous. "Fine. Since you have betrayed me, then prepare for death."

Having said that, he charged toward the Demon Generals. Gu Yuchuan did not move; he was quite happy to watch this dog-eat-dog spectacle. Since both parties deserved to die in his eyes, he would let them fight it out first. It would be best if a few died, though these people certainly wouldn't be able to defeat this demonic creature.

Currently, the Aura of this demonic creature had increased by at least thirty percent, giving him the strength of the Foundation Establishment Fifth Layer.

Gu Yuchuan was watching with great amusement, but in the blink of an eye, his smile vanished and his expression turned grim. This Devil Head could actually devour them to increase his own power! What a monster. He couldn't let him keep killing. At that moment, the creature killed Bixian Demon General, and after devouring her, his Aura became even more powerful.

The profound water violet lightning spear appeared in Gu Yuchuan's hand as he transformed back into his human form. He lunged forward with his spear, surprising everyone. Its power was far greater than before. The Devil Head could only use his full Devilish Qi to block, but Gu Yuchuan wasn't actually trying to kill him. His targets had always been the other Demon Generals; they didn't even have time to react before dying at his hands.

Gu Yuchuan also collected their Physical Bodies. He couldn't let the Devil Head devour them, or else his power would increase again, and he might truly gain the ability to defeat him. He had to handle this carefully.

Seeing that he had been tricked, the Devil Head roared, "Serpent demon, you are so despicable! Die!"

Watching the Devil Head charge toward him, Gu Yuchuan gripped his spear tightly and lunged. In his Simulations, he had spent two attempts just to perfect his spear technique. In his hands, the spear was like a Divine Dragon; every swing and thrust carried immense power.

However, while the Serpent tail was fast, it truly lacked the subtle flexibility of human legs. Thus, his spear technique currently had to follow a broad and sweeping style. This lack of flexibility affected his combat strength quite a bit, which made him somewhat uncomfortable, but it was sufficient for the current battle.

The power of lightning from Gu Yuchuan's spear entered the Devil Head's body. The Devilish Qi within the Devil Head also began to slowly corrode Gu Yuchuan's spear. However, he was not afraid. The Golden Light Incantation flowed into the spear, turning all the Devilish Qi into nothingness. Was this a joke? His Golden Light Incantation was the perfect counter to these evil and heterodox paths. To think he could use Devilish Qi to corrode him was simply laughable! Utterly ridiculous.

"So these are the methods of the Demonic Path? They're nothing special. If this is all the strength you have, then prepare for death."
