69: Killing cultivators and setting up a plan

Gu Yuchuan's pupils constricted slightly. He looked at them as if they were fools. He was going to go all out and couldn't delay any longer. Just now, he had thought of a way to spread word of the Human Race's scheme. Wasn't there a scout here? With the human Cultivators present, a little bit of planning would allow him to handle this perfectly.

He opened his mouth and spat out a cloud of Poison Mist. The mist slowly expanded, eventually covering a radius of fifty meters, enveloping both the White-clothed Swordsman and the Green Bamboo Sword Array. The two talents, Soaring on Clouds and Riding the Mist and Poison Mist, were truly a perfect match; combined, their power was greater than the sum of their parts.

This Poison Mist was one of Gu Yuchuan's earliest Divine Abilities. Now, as his Bloodline grew stronger, it had become even more formidable. The White-clothed Swordsman was no fool; a green divine light flared around his body in an attempt to block it, but the light visibly dimmed. Clearly, his Spell was no match for the Poison Mist. Even the Green Bamboo Sword Array emitted a sizzling sound, evidently suffering damage as well.

The White-clothed Swordsman dared not wait any longer. He manipulated the Green Bamboo Sword Array to attack Gu Yuchuan. The sword array surrounded Gu Yuchuan from all sides, as if intending to turn him into a pincushion. However, he had clearly miscalculated. Gu Yuchuan was a Dragon Snake, a Spirit Beast. Although the Physical Body of the Dragon Clan wasn't their strongest attribute, it was still a commendable ability. In the myriad Realms, it was a talent held in high regard. His current Physical Body was also very powerful.

Several Flying Swords struck his body, but they only produced the sound of clashing metal, failing to leave any wounds. One Flying Sword was even knocked down by his tail. Seizing the opportunity, he lunged forward with his bloody maw wide open. The stench from his mouth was so strong the White-clothed Swordsman could smell it. His breath also contained toxins, which momentarily dazed his opponent.

By the time he cleared his head, Gu Yuchuan had already coiled around him. This was a technique all pythons knew, a skill buried deep within their Bloodline. The White-clothed Swordsman could feel his Physical Body under immense pressure; he was even starting to lose his breath. At his Realm, he still needed to breathe to survive.

He tried to circulate his mana, but his Meridians were being squeezed, making the flow of mana extremely difficult. It was hard enough just to maintain his protective barrier, let alone continue his attack.

Gu Yuchuan continued his assault. He bit down on the man's neck, though the impact made his teeth ache slightly. Well, the man's protective Spell was still active. He would just continue to constrict him. Since he couldn't breathe, death was inevitable.

The White-clothed Swordsman's eyes began to glaze over as he fell into despair. But before he lost consciousness, he saw an earthy-yellow stone flying toward Gu Yuchuan. This was Junior Brother Song's Spell. Although Junior Brother Song was somewhat terrified, he was still a Cultivator after all. He knew very well that he couldn't win and couldn't run. The White-clothed Swordsman still had the ability to resist, whereas he did not. Therefore, he had to keep the White-clothed Swordsman alive, or he would die as well.

However, while Gu Yuchuan had been fighting the White-clothed Swordsman, it didn't mean he had completely ignored Junior Brother Song. In fact, a portion of his Divine Sense had been fixed on Junior Brother Song the entire time. Naturally, he saw the attack coming. Gu Yuchuan loosened his grip on the White-clothed Swordsman slightly and, with a flick of his tail, shattered the yellow stone. To think someone with such meager combat strength would try to pull off a sneak attack—it was laughable.

He opened his mouth, and a giant python made of flowing water surged toward Junior Brother Song. Given Junior Brother Song's strength, this water python alone would be enough to give him a hard time.

He increased the force of his constriction, causing the White-clothed Swordsman immense suffering. Finally, the man's pupils began to dilate—a sign that he could no longer hold on. A few minutes later, he finally blacked out, and the spiritual light on his body vanished. Gu Yuchuan bit into his neck, injecting venom into his body. Very quickly, the White-clothed Swordsman was dead.

He turned his head toward the only survivor, Junior Brother Song. The man was struggling greatly against the water python and was already injured. Gu Yuchuan simply fired a drop of Heavenly Profound Heavy Water at him. This time, he wasn't so lucky and died instantly. With that, all four Cultivators were dead.

The Brocade Fur Rat immediately cupped its paws and bowed repeatedly. "Thank you, Great King! If not for your help today, I surely would have died here. Please, Great King, tell me where your Immortal Cave is located. Once the war is over, I will bring generous gifts to express my gratitude."

Gu Yuchuan looked at the Brocade Fur Rat with interest. He hadn't expected this little rat to be so grateful. Not bad, not bad at all—it was a pleasant surprise.

Gu Yuchuan didn't really respond to him. Instead, he began to clean up the battlefield. This was crucial to his plan, so he had to make the performance look convincing. However, while he was cleaning up, neither the hidden Serpent nor the Brocade Fur Rat intervened. These were Gu Yuchuan's spoils of war, and naturally, he was to enjoy them alone.

He checked their belongings and found that these people were actually quite poor. He only scavenged three Magical Artifacts and over five hundred Spirit Stones. But it didn't matter. He subtly took a Jade Slip from the White-clothed Swordsman's body. After reading it, he gasped, his voice filled with feigned surprise.

"Hey, Brocade Fur Rat, you're a scout, right? Come and look at this! A Foundation Establishment Stage Cultivator from the Human Race has brought a great treasure and is planning to assassinate our Demon General! Hurry and report this!"

The Brocade Fur Rat took it and was equally shocked after reading. "Great King, this is a massive contribution! Don't worry, I will definitely report this truthfully to the army. I won't take any of the credit that belongs to you."

After saying that, it performed a salute and hurried away. Of course, the Jade Slip was Gu Yuchuan's own doing. Since he wanted to pass on the information he got from the simulator to the Yao Race, he naturally had to use a little trickery.

At this moment, the Serpent emerged. "I really didn't expect that we'd run into such a major event right after coming out. It seems you truly have some Luck about you to stumble upon such military merit. Perhaps this time we really will find a few Spirit Fish that have developed intelligence in the fishery. If their Bloodline is good, they might even make decent subordinates."

Gu Yuchuan nodded with a hint of a guilty conscience. "I hope your words come true. Let's head out. We've already wasted a lot of time; it would be a loss if we delayed our own mission."

The Serpent said nothing more, and the two continued their journey. This time, they didn't encounter any more incidents. By the next day, they had reached the vicinity of the fishery.
