24: Continue attack

Originally, Mo Changning had been extremely frightened, for anyone capable of ambushing her so silently must surely have a cultivation level above her own. However, upon seeing the dark green giant python before her, her mood calmed down significantly.

People of the Beast Taming Sect inherently looked down upon Yao Beasts. In their hearts, these Yao Beasts were simply resources for their cultivation. While alive, they served as their dao protectors; after death, their entire bodies were treasures that could be used for Alchemy or Artifact Refining, wasting nothing. Therefore, even though the aura on Gu Yuchuan was extremely dense, she was not afraid.

She looked at Gu Yuchuan with an arrogant air, her eyes narrowing slightly, carrying a heavy sense of disdain: "Snake Yao, how dare you ambush me? I advise you to immediately give me the antidote and become my Yao Beast. I might consider sparing your life; otherwise, your end will be to have your bones ground to dust, with no path to survival."

Gu Yuchuan's mouth hung open, and his brows knit together tightly. He was a bit bewildered. What was going on? Was he some kind of very weak Yao Beast? That couldn't be right. He was at the Qi Refining Sixth Layer, while the other was at the Qi Refining Third Layer. His cultivation was so much higher, so why was she so confident? Yet, she looked so ordinary. Could this be what a Cultivator of the Human Race was like? An overly confident Cultivator?

He wasn't going to indulge this Mo Changning. He used his tail to give her a fierce slap. Instantly, a red mark appeared on her face, and she immediately began to scream.

"You, a tiny Snake Yao, actually dare to lay a hand on me, a Disciple of the Beast Taming Sect? In our Beast Taming Sect, even Yao Beasts at the Foundation Establishment Stage would be punished if they dared to lay a hand on a Disciple. You are dead." She was hysterical, her face twisted in a ferocious expression.

With a thought from Gu Yuchuan, a stream of water transformed into a ring and bound her neck. The pressure on her neck made her unable to speak. The suffocating feeling of death brought her back to her senses. The Yao Beast before her was an existence with cultivation far surpassing her own; she couldn't beat it.

Gu Yuchuan's voice also carried a thick intent to kill. By now, this Cultivator had disgusted him: "I ask, you answer. If you say anything irrelevant, you will immediately turn into a puddle of foul water, and even your Divine Soul will be poisoned to death. If you cooperate, nod. If you don't, then don't move."

She nodded rapidly, afraid that any movement of hers would lead Gu Yuchuan to have any negative thoughts. Gu Yuchuan was quite satisfied now and removed the restraint on her neck.

"What is your name? Where are you a Cultivator from? Why did you come here today?"

Gu Yuchuan stared intently at her. Her expression was indeed somewhat unnatural: "My name is Mo Changning. I am a peripheral Cultivator of the Beast Taming Sect. I came here today because practicing in the Immortal Sect was truly boring, and I wanted to relax in the Mortal World."

Gu Yuchuan laughed while condensing water vapor into a Water Sword. In an instant, her left arm had already fallen to the ground. She wanted to scream, but looking into Gu Yuchuan's icy eyes, she couldn't say anything. She felt the Grim Reaper descending. In that moment, she felt as if she had arrived at the glaciers of the Extreme North. She was lying on that thousand-year black ice, her whole being filled with helplessness.

"Lies. I will continue to ask below. If you tell any more lies, you can say goodbye to your right arm as well."

This was actually a rather shallow interrogation technique: first ask about something you already know. If the other party lies, give them a taste of suffering. Then, when asking about what you actually want to know, the probability of the other party telling the truth is much higher. After all, verbal threats are always a bit lacking. Only when one has truly suffered harm do they know pain. Just like Mo Changning now, she kept promising that she would never dare to tell any more lies.

However, Gu Yuchuan's next words still left her feeling extremely shocked: "How many Cultivators are there in your Bee Raising Forest, and what defensive Formation do you have? Tell me everything."

Being able to become a Cultivator meant she wasn't stupid to begin with. Now, how could she not realize that this Yao Beast was targeting the Bee Raising Forest? But she wanted to live. She closed her eyes, and tears dripped onto the ground.

"Fine, I will speak. Besides me, there are two other Senior Brothers in the Bee Raising Forest: a Senior Brother Song at the Qi Refining Fourth Layer, and a Senior Brother Wang at the Fifth Level of Qi Refining. The Bee Raising Forest has a low-level Formation called the Wild Sand Formation; its defensive capabilities are quite sufficient."

Gu Yuchuan's mood soured quite a bit. The defensive strength of this Bee Raising Forest was much stronger than his intelligence had indicated. Two Cultivators at the Mid Qi Refining Stage, plus a Formation—if he had charged in directly, it would certainly have been dangerous. Fortunately, he was not a true Yao Beast; he possessed wisdom and had taken a detour. Otherwise, he might really have failed.

He continued to ask: "If I want to sneak in, what should I do?"

Mo Changning was silent for a while. Gu Yuchuan couldn't help but start to take action before she finally spoke: "My Lord, I truly cannot solve this problem. The Formation Flag is in the hands of Senior Brother Wang. Even Senior Brother Song cannot get it, let alone me. I really cannot do this."

However, Gu Yuchuan was just asking. Even if she said she could take him in, he wouldn't dare to go; after all, she was already crippled, and that would certainly be very difficult to explain.

"Fine, then let's forget about that matter. For the next matter, as long as you do it well, I will not kill you, and I will let you go. But if you don't do it well, then prepare to die."

Although Mo Changning was cooperating with Gu Yuchuan, she also knew that she might not have a way to live; this was just a final struggle. Hearing the possibility of survival all of a sudden, she was still very excited, and her voice carried a sobbing tone.

"Tell me, I will definitely give it my all."

Gu Yuchuan laughed. He hoped so: "Lure your Senior Brother Wang out, and I will ambush and kill him. Then you can live."

She only felt as if her heart had fallen into an abyss. Assisting a Yao Beast to kill a Senior Brother meant she could never return to the Beast Taming Sect. But if she didn't do it, she would die right now. One side was Hell, and the other side was also Hell. Either way she chose, it was miserable.

However, people would always choose to live in the moment, and she was the same: "Fine, I agree." Her voice was very soft and carried a hint of desolation. Clearly, she was also feeling distressed. After she finished writing the Jade Slip, Gu Yuchuan did not let her send it out immediately. He checked it several times, and there was nothing suspicious. However, he was uneasy. He still had two Simulation chances; weren't they meant to be used at such critical moments? If there was any problem with this Jade Slip, he would have no path to survival. It absolutely could not be problematic.

"Find a place to rest. I will meditate for a while, and then we will send this Jade Slip. Do not have any little tricks; I am watching you. If you act rashly, I don't mind breaking my promise and killing you. You weigh it yourself."
