4: Primary Water Control and Day Two
After cleaning the cave, he suddenly realized something. The toad's appearance was never mentioned in the simulator. Cold sweat broke out on his back; it seemed he could no longer equate the simulator's events with the actual future from now on.
In fact, the future began to change the moment he obtained the rewards. Naturally, it wouldn't be identical to what was written in the simulator. He had to keep this in mind; otherwise, he might encounter even greater dangers in the future.
He felt extremely exhausted. This battle had taken a heavy toll on both his Physical Body and spirit, but now was far from the time to rest. The smell of blood here was too strong; he needed to clean up the battlefield.
He prepared to use the accumulated water to wash the cave. Turning his head, he found that there wasn't much water left in the puddle. He walked to the water's edge with wide eyes. "Ah, Red Flame Toad, you really deserve to die! My snake's mirror! Without the mirror, how can I see what I look like?" He hissed a few times to vent his frustration, but the Red Flame Toad was already dead, so what could he do?
He forced himself to cheer up, washed the cave, and collapsed in a corner. The love was gone; he felt like his life as a snake no longer had any zest. His "mirror," which could provide shade and quench thirst, was gone just like that.
His gaze became much firmer as he made a decision. Once tomorrow's tribulation passed, he would find a new cave. This place was indeed too crude.
After resting well, he prepared to start the fourth Simulation. He hoped that this time he could find a way to survive the crisis of the second day.
[Congratulations to the Host for starting the fourth Simulation. Drawing talents now.]
[White Talent: Scale Reinforcement; Green Talent: Devour (can digest food faster and absorb more nutrients); Blue Talent: Beginner Water Control.]
He even jumped a bit in excitement. He knew he was a snake blessed with great luck. Was there even a need to choose? It had to be Beginner Water Control. This was an elemental attack! That stinky toad's flames had made him very envious, and now he could control an element too. He hoped he could gain enough divine dragon points!
[Host chooses Blue Talent: Beginner Water Control. Simulation begins.]
[Day 1: After cleaning the cave, you are truly exhausted and fall asleep inside. You don't wake up until the moon rises. Looking at the moonlight outside, you feel your Cultivate speed has increased significantly. You Cultivate all night.]
[Day 2 morning: You smell the exotic fragrance of the ripening Vermilion Fruit. With your cultivation, you manage to resist for an extra hour, but eventually, you are drawn toward the location of the Vermilion Fruit tree. Along the way, you arrive safely by relying on your Invisibility Talent.]
[Day 2 afternoon: The Vermilion Fruit finally ripens. Several powerful Yao Beasts fight fiercely. You hide, trembling. In the end, the Golden Peng emerges victorious.]
[Day 2 evening: Just as the Golden Peng is about to swallow the Vermilion Fruit, several human Cultivators descend from the sky. With a single sword light, they kill the surviving Golden Peng. They take the Vermilion Fruit and leave. In the darkness, you devour many of the Yao Race who died in the chaotic battle, and your cultivation grows to the Qi Refining Second Layer. In the shadows, there are many other Yao Beasts with the same idea as you.]
[Day 3: Having advanced in cultivation, you find a new cave. It is in the Yunxi River. You use your Water Control Talent to create a hollow cave at the bottom of the water, greatly increasing your safety.]
[Day 4: You are Cultivating peacefully.]
[Day 5: You are Cultivating peacefully.]
[...Day 10: While you are Cultivating, a crab stops at your Immortal Cave. It says that since you've become a Yao, why haven't you gone to pay respects to the King of the Yunxi River? It claims you must have ill intentions and kills you. This crab is at the Qi Refining Fourth Layer cultivation, and you are no match for it. You can only die with regret.]
[Simulation ended. Survival time: 10 days. Cultivation: Qi Refining Second Layer. Evaluation: A bottom-tier Yao Beast that cannot survive a month. Reward: 100 divine dragon points. (Including 50 points for surviving 10 days and 50 points for advancing one layer in cultivation.)]
[Rewards available for exchange in this Simulation: Blue Talent: Beginner Water Control (100 divine dragon points); Qi Refining Second Layer cultivation (50 divine dragon points). Would you like to exchange?]
Gu Yuchuan's large eyes were full of reluctance. He wanted both things, and he needed both. Needless to say, Beginner Water Control was a talent he could use for the rest of his life; not only could it be used against enemies, but it also increased his Cultivate speed. Cultivation was even more essential, being the essence of a Cultivator. Unfortunately, he hadn't achieved much this time and could only exchange for Beginner Water Control.
After the exchange was complete, he realized he could control water. He flicked his tail, and a Water Sword shot out, splitting a rock outside the cave in half. Combined with his Invisibility, this power was a lethal weapon for sneak attacks.
He was full of hope for the future. However, this Simulation also presented two dangers. The first was tomorrow's Cultivators; if he were discovered, the only consequence would be death. The second was that Crab General. But he had already thought of a solution: either avoid the Yunxi River or go to pay respects in advance. He would see in future Simulations.
Now, he only had two Simulation attempts left. He had a clear plan for tomorrow's events. Outside, the Jade Rabbit rose in the east, and the power of the moonlight enveloped the land. He had heard in his past life that these monsters absorbed the essence of the sun and moon; now it seemed that was indeed the case. He could feel his Cultivate speed increasing significantly.
He wouldn't waste any time. His expression became solemn as he assumed a Cultivate posture and began to Cultivate. Cultivation was all about a continuous, daily accumulation. He would Cultivate every night from now on without the slightest negligence.
When he opened his eyes again, the Rising Sun rose in the east, and the temperature was gradually increasing. He curled himself up and then straightened out, considering it a stretch; otherwise, he felt uncomfortable, as if something was missing. After stretching, he felt refreshed. Now he just had to wait for the exotic fragrance to appear.
He waited like that until he felt a bit sleepy. While in a daze, he suddenly felt a scent enter his body. This fragrance was very domineering; it didn't just let him smell it, it felt like it slapped him directly.
He had an urge to find the source of the fragrance. He stuck out his tongue and panted continuously to calm himself down. It was better to go as late as possible; after all, that place was unsafe.
He controlled his spirit, strengthening his will to resist the urge. Slowly, he began to wriggle on the ground. After about half an hour, he could no longer endure it and rushed out at high speed. Fortunately, he remembered to activate his Invisibility Talent, so not too many wild animals or Yao discovered him. He didn't notice that his eyes had turned blood-red.
