A series of kill notifications lit up on Su Yang's panel.

Although the Bug Swarm Tide had gotten smart and adopted a scattered charge tactic, they were no match for the area-of-effect firepower of the four Skyfire Guards.

The shockwaves of the explosions and the towering flames covered every path the Insect Swarm advanced along.

If the Insect race had history, perhaps they would describe the territory of the Dragon Kingdom as a meat grinder.

Now, the only thing limiting the firepower of the Skyfire Guards was the reloading work required when each round of ammunition was exhausted.

The towering city walls provided the Skyfire Guards with an excellent line of sight, but also made replenishing ammunition extremely troublesome.

For this reason, Su Yang specifically arranged a squad responsible for traveling back and forth between the top and bottom of the city wall to transport ammunition for the Skyfire Guards.

However, even so, every time the ammunition was replaced, a large number of the Insect Swarm would still surge in.

Coupled with the portions that entered from uncovered areas, a considerable amount of the Bug Swarm Tide was already bordering the city walls.

When they crossed the difficult obstacles and approached the city walls, what awaited them was even more lethal and precise gunfire!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

The firing ports at the very bottom of the northern city wall opened, and the team composed of Armored Crossbowmen poured firepower into the Insect Swarm from within.

Because the Insect Swarm had already been washed over by a round of artillery, they were not dense, so the crossbowmen all used Armor-piercing Arrows.

The explosive stones at the tail of the Armor-piercing Arrows detonated one by one as they were shot out, giving the arrows even stronger kinetic energy.

Even for the evolved Stinger Bugs, such an Armor-piercing Arrow could penetrate three of them in a row.

Countless silver lights flashed, and the deadly rain of arrows composed of Armor-piercing Arrows was like the Grim Reaper, precisely harvesting the surviving Insect Swarm.

Su Yang watched the stalled Insect Swarm and shook his head.

"We're already old friends, why are you still serving appetizers? Just bring out the main course!"

As he wished.

The moment his thoughts fell, ten large white dots appeared side-by-side on the reconnaissance panel.

Following behind them was a larger-scale Insect Swarm!

Su Yang's eyes flickered; this was exactly what he wanted!

"General Li Xin!" Su Yang raised his hand to issue an order.

The evolved Burrowing Giant Insects moved extremely fast, and the ballistas could only intercept four of them even at full speed.

If he wanted to stop them from getting away from the territory, he had to let General Li Xin leave the city to snipe them!

"All generals, heed the order, follow me to kill the enemy!"

General Li Xin accepted the order and turned to lead the Armored Elite Warrior Chen Wu squad out of the city gate.

A set of silver-white Imperial Armor shone with silver light under the moonlight.

Anyone who saw it would have to say it was cool in their heart.

"It's a pity there are no warhorses," Su Yang lamented in his heart.

It would be perfect if the Heavy Equipment Battalion or the Foundry could manufacture some kind of mechanical beast.

Rustle, rustle, rustle—

Rustle, rustle, rustle—

The new round of the Bug Swarm Tide offensive had already arrived.

The noise unique to the movement of the Insect Swarm rang out in the dense forest.

The bombing of the Skyfire Guards did not stop for a moment, and the muzzles had already been burned red.

The two ballistas also entered a state and began to snipe the Burrowing Giant Insects underground.

Whoosh—

Just as Su Yang was directing his troops to snipe the Giant Insects, a round of red-black, meteorite-like shells came rolling in from the sky.

Exterminators!

Su Yang's eyes flashed; the biggest threat had arrived!

The shells slid down from the sky, pointing directly at the four Skyfire Guards on the city wall.

To be able to lock on precisely from such a long distance, the artillery units of the Insect race were also terrifyingly accurate!

"General Meng Tian!"

The Skyfire Guards could not evacuate in time; the only one who could block the shells was General Meng Tian.

Su Yang cast his gaze toward the top of the city wall. How would General Meng Tian handle this?

As the shells fell, General Meng Tian was seen putting his war hammer behind his back and rushing straight toward the area where the Skyfire Guards were located.

The hybrid-powered armor was at full power, countless thick white steam spurted out, and the exhaust ports behind him spewed flames to accelerate his propulsion.

If one hadn't seen it with their own eyes, no one would believe that such a huge steel armor could have this kind of speed!!

As General Meng Tian sprinted with all his might, he placed his hands in front of his chest, pulled sharply, and took out the shield that had transformed into his breastplate.

The moment he took it out, the giant steel shield expanded outward in his hands, instantly transforming into a giant protective shield wider than the armor itself.

The shell struck, and General Meng Tian jumped with power while holding the giant shield, the propulsion device under his feet spewing countless flames.

Boom—

In mid-air, the shell collided with the giant shield, emitting a thunderous roar.

The shell exploded, flames flickered, and the shockwave spread out in the air.

The Exterminator shell detonated in the air; the explosion did not affect anyone, but the burning liquid fuel still sprayed out in all directions.

In the midst of the sky full of fire rain, General Meng Tian landed steadily, holding the burning giant shield.

Hiss—

The giant steel shield shook violently, and the sprayed steam and shockwaves instantly extinguished the entire flame.

"He actually took the shell head-on!?"

Su Yang simply couldn't believe his eyes!

This was definitely the most hardcore way of intercepting a shell he had ever seen!!

That giant shield had the effect of absorbing the explosion energy and shockwaves; when the shell exploded in the air, its power was at least half less than that of the one from Piao Daosi!

Although the fuel fire rain still fell, the buildings in the territory were all cast of steel, and the soldiers were all wearing Imperial Armor.

As long as it was extinguished in time, it would have no impact on the territory at all.

"Well done!" Su Yang praised General Meng Tian.

"Your Majesty is too kind, it was just a small effort."

General Meng Tian replied calmly, as if what had just happened was as trivial and common as buying groceries in the morning.

He was truly a general worthy of guarding the borders for the Great Qin for decades, steady and reliable!

While Su Yang praised General Meng Tian, a smile also appeared on his face.

The Insect race had already scouted the range of the Skyfire Guards, so they would definitely deploy the Exterminators outside the range of the artillery.

And with their learning ability, this time, a large number of troops would be deployed around the Exterminators to prevent a repeat of the situation where General Li Xin snuck into their home.

But no matter how they scouted, they could not discover the situation inside the city walls.

Su Yang waved his hand and issued an order.

"skyfire tower, activate!!"

Upon receiving the order, two Skyfire Guard soldiers entered the skyfire tower.

Hum—

Hum—

Hum—

With the activation, the cannon barrel was heated ring by ring, and the entire artillery tower turned red.

Although it was not within the reconnaissance range, that one shot from the Exterminator had already exposed its position.

The tide of offense and defense has turned!

"skyfire tower deployment complete, Heaven-Burning Shell loaded."

"Target calibrated, requesting to fire!"
