116: Chapter 116 Reinforcements Arrive, the Combat Power of the Level 4 Armored Army

General Li Xin swung his long spear.

"Engage the enemy!"

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—

The moment the Insect Swarm broke through the line of fire, the Crossbowmen unleashed a rain of Armor-piercing Arrows.

Accelerated by the explosive stones, the penetration power of the Armor-piercing Arrows was raised to a staggering level.

The first batch of Stinger Bugs had endured the explosive impact, and many cracks had already appeared on their shells.

After several volleys from the Crossbowmen, their defenses were finally shattered.

The pale blue shells shattered, and the Armor-piercing Arrows drove deep inside, piercing their vital points.

But this was only the first batch of Stinger Bugs; more and more continued to surge forward.

While the Crossbowmen were reloading, the line of Stinger Bugs advanced rapidly, quickly charging to the front of the troops.

Boom—

The army of Stinger Bugs slammed into the human wall formed by the iron shields of the Level 3 Armored Elite Soldiers.

A long-awaited direct confrontation between the Imperial Armor Troops and the Insect Swarm ensued.

The Armored Elite Soldiers easily blocked the sharp blade attacks of the Stinger Bugs with their iron shields and then counterattacked with their swords.

When their broad-bladed iron swords struck the shells of the Stinger Bugs, the Elite Soldiers realized how special this enemy was!

Their pale blue shells were extremely hard; even the iron swords, combined with the upgraded fuel-propelled slashes, could not directly break through them!

Unable to effectively rout the Insect Swarm, the Armored Elite Soldiers could only hold up their shields and defend, waiting for the Crossbowmen to attack.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—

After another volley of Armor-piercing Arrows, the Stinger Bugs at the very front were finally routed.

This was the last batch of Stinger Bugs that had endured two rounds of bombardment.

They had also weathered a round of slashes from the Elite Soldiers before finally being taken down by the Crossbowmen's volley.

Yet behind them, there were countless more Stinger Bugs in the Bug Swarm Tide with intact armor.

This Insect Swarm was definitely no longer the type that the Armored Soldiers could easily slice through like vegetables!

If the ones with cracked shells were already this difficult to deal with, the Stinger Bugs with intact shells would be even harder to handle!

Only Level 4 Armored Elite Soldiers and Crossbowmen would be able to withstand this onslaught.

Retreat was no longer an option; they had to hold the line to the end!

Su Yang switched rapidly between the front line and the support troops.

There was still some time before the support troops arrived.

If a method wasn't found, the front-line troops would be routed by the Bug Swarm Tide before reinforcements arrived!

Suddenly, General Li Xin's shout rang out.

"All troops, listen to my command: switch from slashing to thrusting!"

"Warriors of Great Qin, fight to the death and never retreat!!"

After shouting these two commands, General Li Xin wielded his silver spear and charged alone into the Bug Swarm Tide.

His general ability activated, granting all Elite Soldiers a 30% morale bonus, and they followed General Li Xin's command, switching from slashing to thrusting.

Boom—

The second wave of Stinger Bugs with intact armor slammed into the Elite Soldiers' defensive line.

This time, the Elite Soldiers switched to thrusting; in the time it took to slash twice, they could now perform three consecutive thrusts.

With the added morale bonus, the Armored Elite Soldiers were actually able to crack the shells of the Insect Swarm during the very first collision.

Then, the Crossbowmen aimed at the cracks and fired two consecutive Armor-piercing Arrows.

This sequence of attacks was actually able to perfectly shatter the shells of the Stinger Bugs!

Seeing the scene before him, Su Yang couldn't help but marvel at General Li Xin's ability.

Because the contact area for a thrust is smaller, the pressure generated by the attack is greater.

Faced with this kind of full-armor shell, single-point attacks are more effective.

Furthermore, thrusting requires a smaller range of motion than slashing, allowing for multiple attacks in a short amount of time.

Although General Li Xin didn't understand physics, he had keenly discovered the enemy's weakness.

And he had reinvigorated the morale and organized a counterattack.

This is the meaning of a general's existence!

Relying on General Li Xin's command, even the fully armored Insect Swarm could not break through the Imperial Armor Troops.

The soldiers successfully held off the onslaught of the army of Stinger Bugs.

As the subsequent Bug Swarm Tide surged forward in greater numbers, the Skyfire Guard, Fire Dragon Guard, and even the black iron chariot were deployed directly into the fray.

Using their physical bodies to block the Bug Swarm Tide, delaying their attack on the Imperial Armor Troops.

General Li Xin charged left and right through the Bug Swarm Tide, his iron armor already covered in scars.

Because it hadn't been upgraded, General Li Xin was covered in iron armor, and even his power System was still steam-driven.

His iron spear, which possessed armor-piercing rotation capabilities, seemed somewhat underpowered when facing these Stinger Bugs.

The Stinger Bugs swarmed around him in increasing numbers; he fought with all his might to hold back more Xenomorphs to alleviate the pressure on the following Imperial Armor Troops.

But he knew clearly in his heart that this was just struggling to hold on.

Without subsequent reinforcements, it would be impossible to win this war!

Clomp, clomp, clomp—

Suddenly, amidst the shrill shrieks of countless Xenomorphs, General Li Xin heard the crisp sound of mechanical hooves.

That was the sound of the Blazing Steed's hooves!

Finally caught up! Su Yang felt relieved.

From General Li Xin's perspective, General Meng Tian came roaring in, riding a fiery red Blazing Steed.

As he approached the battlefield, General Meng Tian, clad in a suit of steel armor, slowly stood up on the back of his galloping steed.

"This is the Great Qin Territory; no alien race shall run wild here!!"

He spread his arms wide, let out a fierce roar to activate his general ability, and then leaped high from the horse's back, slamming down into the area where General Li Xin was.

General Li Xin's eyes widened, and he immediately dodged out of the way.

Boom—

With a thunderous boom, General Meng Tian, wearing his battle armor and weighing over ten tons, smashed into the Insect Swarm like a cannonball.

Beneath him, three Stinger Bugs, along with their shells, were smashed into smithereens; shells shattered, and blood and gore splattered everywhere.

After landing, he immediately got up, took the large shield from his chest, raised his war hammer, and charged forward.

The highly destructive war hammer was the best armor-piercing weapon; no Stinger Bug could withstand General Meng Tian's hammer strikes.

With the buff provided by General Meng Tian, the Armored Elite Soldiers on the front line became even more capable and at ease.

Seeing that General Meng Tian had arrived as support, General Li Xin also regained his Aura and charged into the Insect Swarm once again.

General Meng Tian's reinforcements greatly eased the situation, but it was still far from turning the tide.

They still had to wait, wait for the critical troops to reach the battlefield.

Su Yang switched to the first-person perspective of the black iron chariot driver; the battlefield had already appeared in the window!

The support troops had finally arrived: the fully upgraded Level 4 Imperial Armor Troops!

Skrrrrrrrrr—

The brakes were pulled tight, and the friction between the tires and the ground emitted a shrill screech.

The driver of the black iron chariot actually performed a drift at the very end.

Drifting a 25-meter-long behemoth!

This maneuver almost made Su Yang's jaw drop.

What kind of people are in this team!

After a spectacular drift, the rear of the black iron chariot faced forward, and the carriage door slammed down.

The Imperial Armor Troops, equipped with brand-new steel Imperial Armor, quickly disembarked and formed into ranks.

60 Armored Elite Soldiers formed three rows in the front, and 40 Armored Crossbowmen formed two staggered rows in the back.

After the formation was complete, Su Yang ordered the advance.

Boom—

Boom—

Boom—

The hundred-man troop, clad in steel Imperial Armor, marched forward in unison.

Their heavy footsteps struck the ground one by one, the sound like the heartbeat of the earth.
