106: Chapter 106 The Fire Dragon Guards strike, leaving a thousand miles of land scorched!

Noises suddenly erupted in the dense forest.

A series of over a dozen sounds of earth breaking apart exploded all around.

The originally silent dense forest was instantly enveloped by the screeching of the Xenomorphs.

The sound of Giant Insects digging would be detected by the Scouts and General Li Xin, so they had laid an ambush here in advance.

Moreover, the distance chosen by these Giant Insects was just right; it was neither close enough for General Li Xin to block the tunnel entrance with a single spear thrust, nor too far away to give the Crossbowmen room to output damage.

This was clearly an ambush that had been carefully arranged and meticulously prepared!

Su Yang's thoughts raced; it must have been that the Scouts' tracking yesterday was discovered by the Xenomorphs, and then they had turned the tables to set up an ambush in advance!

The tactical level of these guys was actually getting higher and higher!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sounds of Giant Insects leaping out of the ground exploded continuously, and countless Xenomorph units surged out from within.

The main road of travel was occupied by Stinger Bugs, while countless nematode squads were hidden in the dense forest to provide cover.

General Li Xin immediately ordered the team to form a circular formation, with the Armored Elite Soldiers defending on the outside, and the Crossbowmen outputting damage on the inside.

However, the incident happened suddenly, leaving the soldiers no time to react, and countless explosions rang out within the formation.

The Armored Elite Soldiers did not have time to defend, and many Crossbowmen suffered damage from the explosions.

At this distance, the Skyfire Guard could not be put to use, and the Fire Dragon Guard was suppressed and unable to fire.

If the flamethrowers were fired rashly and struck by the explosive Stinger Bugs, it would easily trigger a massive explosion.

A surge of anger churned in General Li Xin's chest; being ambushed time and again made him, as a general, extremely displeased!

He wanted to charge out and tear the Xenomorphs to shreds, but unfortunately, the dense forest terrain was complex, and rushing in rashly without being able to secure quick kills would lead to even more serious consequences.

"South-southeast, two thousand paces! General Li Xin!"

Swish! A silver light lit up, and General Li Xin leaped out of the formation, advancing rapidly in the southeast direction.

"Armored Elite Warrior Chen Wu, lead your team, southwest direction, five hundred paces!"

"Armored Elite Warrior Zhao Zhang, due east direction, seven hundred paces!"

Su Yang rapidly switched perspectives within the team, finding the enemy's few most concentrated firepower points.

Passive defense was definitely not a good strategy; only by advancing through the artillery fire could the situation be broken.

General Li Xin and the soldiers who received the orders immediately charged out of the formation and killed their way toward the dense forest.

The remaining Armored Elite Soldiers held firm against the surging Bug Swarm Tide of Stinger Bugs.

Soon, under Su Yang's precise targeting, General Li Xin and the soldiers killed their way into the enemy's rear ranks.

The nematodes either fled or were killed, and the frontal firepower weakened instantly.

And once the firepower weakened, the Fire Dragon Guard could unleash their combat power.

In this narrow terrain, the Fire Dragon Guard's attacks were at a destructive level.

Four Fire Dragon Guards from the front and back of the formation stepped out of the ranks, taking up the front line of the team.

Countless Stinger Bugs surged up, and within the dense pile of Stinger Bugs, several Brain Bug variants carrying Iron-Eater Bugs appeared!

They exploded within the Insect Swarm, and countless small Iron-Eater Bugs surged out like a tidal wave, densely covering the entire ground.

Although the Stinger Bug swarm was dense, because there were large gaps between the individuals, one could still see the ground.

But the moment the Iron-Eater Bugs appeared, they directly filled every place where one could still find a foothold.

Surging like a tide, overwhelming the sky and covering the earth!!

The audience watching the livestream in the chat room were all dumbfounded.

They had seen General Li Xin lead his team to cut into the rear ranks and crush the Xenomorphs' long-range units.

Just as they were about to celebrate the resolution of the crisis and the successful, albeit perilous, completion of the encounter, they saw this scene before them.

An overwhelming sea of bugs surged over!

Especially since Su Yang was using the first-person perspective of the frontline soldiers.

That meant the entire field of view was filled with Xenomorphs, blocking out the sky and sun.

"My god!! What kind of bugs are these!!"

"What do we do, what do we do!!"

"The Insect Swarm can even ambush, how the hell is anyone supposed to play this!?"

"This team is done for; the Skyfire Guard might as well fire a shot and blow themselves up!!"

"It's over, it's over, someone come and save them!!"

Hiss, hiss, hiss— The Fire Dragon Guards located at the very front of the team were constantly emitting thick white steam from their entire bodies.

The barrels of the two flamethrowers gradually turned red, changing from silvery-white to a molten color.

"Preheating complete, fuel loading complete, gear three, requesting ignition."

"Ignition!!"

Boom— The moment Su Yang gave the order, eight columns of fire, each 100 meters long, surged out from the front and back.

The scorching flames instantly sealed off all paths of the Xenomorphs' advance, and the entire dense forest was set ablaze.

Su Yang, who had adopted the Fire Dragon Guard's first-person perspective, saw only an extremely deep red, even white-tinged, flame instantly fill his entire field of vision.

It was as if he had been thrown directly into the core of the sun; light, high heat, and explosions—everything surged before his eyes.

Su Yang only watched for a breath before immediately exiting the Fire Dragon Guard's first-person perspective; if he kept watching, his eyes would definitely suffer irreversible damage!

Screech! Ahhh— The tragic wails of the Xenomorphs rang out continuously in the dense forest.

The Iron-Eater Bugs turned into charcoal the instant they touched the flames.

The Stinger Bugs had higher heat resistance and could endure for a considerable amount of time.

But under the impact of the fire columns, they could not move an inch, only increasing the time of their wailing and suffering.

The eight hundred-meter-long fire columns swept across the dense forest as the Fire Dragon Guards twisted.

Wherever the raging fire went, living things were devastated, and all things were silenced.

Countless kill notifications appeared on the panel.

[Killed Level 10 Tyranid Stinger, command points +100 (30% bonus)]

[Killed Level 1 Tyranid Iron-Eater Bug, command points +1 (30% bonus)]

[Killed Level 1 Tyranid Iron-Eater Bug, command points +1 (30% bonus)]

[Killed Level 10 Breeding Brain Bug (Variant), command points +500 (30% bonus)]

[Killed Level 8 Tyranid Stealth Bug, command points +160 (30% bonus)]

As the wailing grew weaker and weaker, the Insect Swarm within a hundred-meter radius was completely wiped out.

This battle, which had significant crises at the start, ended in less than a minute following the Fire Dragon Guard's strike.

Hiss— The Fire Dragon Guard ceased fire, and countless thick white steam erupted from various parts of their mechs.

This was the water-cooling system using cold water to lower the temperature of the mech body; the moment the water touched the scorching mech body, it vaporized into steam.

The Fire Dragon Guard was equipped with a complete water-cooling system; without the water cooling, the prolonged roasting could melt the barrels.

The flames died down, the battle entered its final stages, and the Armored Elite Soldiers in the circular formation immediately dispersed and began hunting down the remaining units.

In the dense forest, General Li Xin once again clashed with that stealth-type Tyranid Warrior.

The furious General Li Xin beat the Tyranid Warrior into a steady retreat this time.

At first, the Tyranid Warrior could barely parry, but as the Fire Dragon Guard struck the front line, his Battle Intent instantly vanished.

When the frontal units were completely wiped out, it gave up resistance and allowed General Li Xin to pierce through its chest.
