67: Chapter 67 Bloodbath Against the Insect Swarm, Powerful Combat Strength After Upgrade

Although ordinary soldiers did not possess the strong consciousness like General Li Xin, they were still flesh and blood human beings.

If there was a chance, Su Yang would not abandon any soldier.

Boom—

Boom—

Boom—

Guided by the other three Scout soldiers, the two Skyfire Guard units fired all remaining ammunition in the form of Skyfire Bomb.

Firelight covered the entire sky, and the sandstorm kicked up by the powerful shockwave rolled in.

[Killed Level 5 Tyranid Spitting Insect, command points + 80 (40% bonus)]

[Killed Level 6 Tyranid Spitting Insect, command points + 85 (40% bonus)]

[Killed Level 7 Tyranid Stinger, command points + 70 (40% bonus)]

[Killed Level 7 Tyranid Stinger, command points + 70 (40% bonus)]

...

Although the Insect Swarm was dispersed, three consecutive rounds of wide-area artillery attacks still made them pay a heavy price.

The Insect Swarm at the center of the bombardment was directly pulverized, while the Insect Swarm on the periphery also suffered severe damage from the shockwave.

After one round of artillery carpet bombing, Su Yang reaped the lives of nearly 70 Xenomorphs.

There were also a large number of the insect race that were injured by the shockwave, resulting in missing limbs; although they weren't killed, they were as good as dead.

Although the insect race's response strategy was quite good, the firepower of the Skyfire Guard was truly too intense.

As the saying goes, insufficient firepower is the only source of fear; as long as the caliber is large enough, even gods will have to take a shot!

Rustle—

Rustle—

After the buzzing caused by the explosions gradually died down, all that remained were the chirping sounds of the Insect Swarm.

Although a large swath had already died, the number of this batch of the insect race was still astonishing.

Both Skyfire Guard units had exhausted their ammunition, and the subsequent battle was handed over entirely to the Imperial Armor Troops.

As the footsteps of the Insect Swarm drew closer, General Li Xin took out his long spear from behind his waist and slammed it into the ground.

"All officers, heed my command: eradicate the alien race, and do not stop until death!"

The general skill "Command Vanguard" was activated, increasing the morale of all melee units by 20%.

As soon as General Li Xin finished speaking, swarms of Level 7 Stinger Bug charged out from the surrounding dense forest.

The angry Stinger Bug troops hissed and roared, wishing they could tear every enemy in front of them to shreds.

"Explosive arrows, fire!!"

General Li Xin waved his hand, and the ready Crossbowman units unleashed their full firepower.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—

Explosive arrows equipped with small blasting stones at the tips whistled out.

Upon hitting the enemy, the arrows immediately exploded, and units within a 3-meter diameter of the target were directly pulverized by the explosion.

Although the Insect Swarm charged out in a scattered formation, the distance between them decreased the closer they got to the circular formation.

This allowed the effect of the explosive arrows to be fully utilized, with each explosion taking out at least two Stinger Bug.

10 Level 3 Crossbowman units, 2 rounds of shooting, 20 explosive crossbow bolts instantly disintegrated the first wave of the Insect Swarm's offensive.

While they were reloading ammunition, 10 Level 2 Crossbowman units filled in the output.

When rows of bronze crossbow bolts shot toward the enemy, a problem arose.

The bronze arrows that were originally one-hit kills could no longer penetrate the torsos of the Stinger Bug.

The evolved insect shells could dissipate most of the bronze arrow's output, allowing them to only pierce into the shallow layers.

10 Level 2 Crossbowman units, 2 volleys, caused almost no casualties, merely stalling the enemy for a moment.

"Giant shields, meet the enemy!!"

General Li Xin waved his hand, and the Armored Elite Soldiers guarding the outermost perimeter abruptly flicked their arms.

Iron shields immediately unfolded, protecting their right arms.

Bang!!

The high-speed charging Stinger Bug collided head-on with the human wall formed by the iron shields, the intense impact causing them to be instantly stunned.

Immediately, the Elite Soldier units used their shields to deflect the Stinger Bug's insect blades and violently swung their swords forward.

Steam sprayed out, and with the support of the brand-new power unit, the alloy iron swords completed the slashing action in an instant.

The Stinger Bug in front of the soldiers were directly split diagonally, with internal organs and blood gushing out.

The Level 3 Armored Elite Soldiers kept repeating this operation, methodically dealing with the waves of Bug Swarm Tide rushing up.

Even the Stinger Bug that had been upgraded and possessed four insect blades were helpless when facing the iron shield defense of the Level 3 Elite Soldier units.

However, the Level 2 Armored Elite Soldiers mixed in among the 20 Level 3 Armored Elite Soldiers did not have it as easy.

Because they had no shields, they could only use bronze swords to block.

Facing Stinger Bug with four insect blades, they were simply exhausted from defending and found it hard to find opportunities to counterattack.

Facing the evolved insect shells of the Level 7 Stinger Bug, their bronze swords were no longer sharp enough, and the power assistance when swinging the swords was also insufficient.

Even if they occasionally found a chance to counterattack, they couldn't cause effective damage at all.

Fortunately, General Li Xin was sitting in the army; whenever there was an area where the defense was unfavorable, he would step in to assist.

After surviving two rounds of charges, the Level 3 Crossbowman units had their new round of arrows ready.

This time, because the battle line had been drawn close to their own team, explosive arrows could no longer be used.

All Crossbowman units switched to Armor-piercing Arrow and, following General Li Xin's order, fired them all.

Under the acceleration of the ultra-small blasting stones, the iron crossbow bolts were endowed with more power.

They could continuously penetrate at least 3 Stinger Bug; although the Stinger Bug in the back might avoid vital points, broken arms and missing legs were inevitable.

Hum—

2 rounds of silver-white Armor-piercing Arrow were fired, and the Insect Swarm collapsed in a large swath.

Although the effective kills were not as good as the explosive arrows, the range of effect was large enough.

The first batch of the Insect Swarm directly hit by the Armor-piercing Arrow died instantly, and the subsequent attacking Insect Swarm was also knocked to the ground in large swaths.

Just as the two sides were engaging, a brand-new insect race unit slowly walked out from the back of the Insect Swarm.

It stood over three meters tall, holding a huge bone blade in its right hand and carrying a scrapped Imperial Armor Scout soldier in its left hand.

General Li Xin frowned slightly; it seemed this was the new insect race unit that Your Majesty had ordered him to deal with.

The new insect race's two rows of six compound eyes quickly locked onto General Li Xin, and at the same time, the antennae on its head began to twitch constantly.

General Li Xin also looked toward the new insect race, and the two sides gazed at each other from across their respective soldiers.

General Li Xin was at a slight disadvantage; the opponent had six eyes, and he found it hard to keep track of them all.

Hiss—ah—

The new insect race unit held the Scout high above its head and let out a sharp cry.

It looked as if it was provoking him!

General Li Xin twisted his right hand violently, and the silver spear in his hand began to rotate rapidly.

As a soldier of Great Qin, how could he let such vermin run rampant!

Bang—

Just as General Li Xin was about to attack, two Giant Insect leaped out from the ground behind him.

They opened their giant mouths filled with barbs, pointing directly at General Li Xin...
