[The Dragon country contestant has left the safe zone; the seven-day novice protection period has ended.]

The slogans on the screen finished flashing, and the live broadcast was abruptly cut off.

The one hour of daily live broadcast had ended.

Looking at the pitch-black screen, the public completely exploded in panic.

"He's crazy! Crazy! Crazy!"

"Leaving the safe zone on the first day—does he want us all to die!?"

"Why do this? We're all going to be buried with him!"

"I don't want to die, I don't want to die!"

The despair among the public erupted completely.

All previous hope shattered as Su Yang walked out of the safe zone.

The host, Xiaoxue, was still desperately trying to find an explanation, wanting to reel back the out-of-control public.

Meanwhile, the experts were already pale, unable to find any angle to soothe the public's emotions.

No matter how you look at it, giving up the seven-day safety period was an extremely foolish, self-destructive move.

Generally, everyone would try to seize the novice protection period to develop.

Striving to build defensive fortifications within seven days to face the first wave of attacks.

Even if the safe zone lacked certain resources, very few people would give up the seven-day protection.

Because these seven days were at least safe.

Even if they did give it up, it was mostly after five or six days, once the defensive fortifications had already taken shape.

A move like Su Yang's—breaking through the novice protection before even finding his footing—was completely unheard of!

Now, he needed to guard against the Insect Swarm's attacks every single moment; there was no room for any mistakes.

Inside the military conference room, some officers were furious.

More officers were plunged into silence, not saying a word.

Some experts with weaker nerves had already begun to pray.

The General of the Military Department sat in his seat, his eyes dim.

"Calm down!" he roared.

The people in the conference room gradually calmed down.

After a silence that lasted over ten seconds.

The General spoke slowly.

"Pass on my order: the whole country is to enter a Level 2 disaster emergency response state..."

[Moving away from the safe zone; leaving will cause the loss of novice protection.]

[Moving away from the safe zone; leaving will cause the loss of novice protection.]

Su Yang ignored the warning boxes constantly popping up on the panel and walked straight out of the safe zone.

After building a steam water pump in the safe zone, he immediately chose a path to explore outside the safe zone.

This was a high-risk choice.

But high risk also meant high reward.

Without leaving the safe zone, there was no life-threatening danger, but there were also no mineral resources.

This way, he could only survive in the safe zone for seven days, wasting the incredibly important early development opportunity.

But by leaving the safe zone, while facing the threat of the Insect Swarm, there was also the possibility of finding mineral resources.

Once mineral resources were found and the energy problem was solved, subsequent construction would be smooth and unimpeded.

The hymn of humanity is the hymn of courage.

Su Yang could understand the official's strategy of seeking stability, but he trusted his own judgment more.

Hiss — — — —

The Armored Elite Soldiers behind him were constantly releasing high-temperature steam.

The Insect Hive Forest was composed of countless strange and bizarre plants.

They were about three stories high and were distributed extremely densely.

Extremely chaotic colors and a peculiar smell created an eerie atmosphere.

If not for the two Armored Elite Soldiers behind him, Su Yang felt he wouldn't have the confidence to continue venturing deeper.

The title of "newcomer killer" for the Heart of the Hive was well-deserved.

Counting from the moment he left the safe zone, he had been exploring outward for nearly an hour.

During this hour, he hadn't been moving in a straight line, but was coordinating with Armored Elite Soldiers in other directions to conduct a wide-area search.

In addition to the two Armored Elite Soldiers accompanying him, he had also summoned five others to search in different directions, with the search area mainly around the safe zone.

Early resource buildings could not be too far from the Main Base; this was more conducive to defense.

Excluding the seven Armored Elite Soldiers out exploring, there were still three Armored Elite Soldiers defending at home.

In other words, Su Yang had gone all-in on all his command points to summon Armored Elite Soldiers.

If he couldn't find a mine before their energy ran out, the game would be over.

"76%."

The Armored Elite Soldier summoned first only had 76% of its steam power remaining.

The energy consumption was faster than imagined.

Su Yang closed the panel and cast his gaze forward.

The dense vegetation strictly limited the visual range to 5 meters; if there was a mineral vein, he would have to walk right up to it to discover it.

This undoubtedly greatly reduced the speed and efficiency of their resource searching.

There was no good news from the other directions either; two paths had been blocked by cliffs, and the rest had yielded nothing.

He needed to speed up the progress.

A trace of anxiety stirred in Su Yang's heart.

Behind him were the entire Dragon country and hundreds of millions of people.

Failure was absolutely not allowed.

Swish, swish — — — —

The sound of rapid movement rang out in the dense forest, and the plump, bizarre plants swayed continuously.

Swish, swish — — — —

The sound was getting closer and closer, and it had shifted from one direction to several directions.

Su Yang became instantly alert.

Something was rapidly approaching and surrounding them!

Hiss — — — — — — — —

A large burst of high-pressure steam surged out.

The two Armored Elite Soldiers drew their bronze swords, guarding Su Yang from the front and back.

Click, click, click — — — — — —

The cylindrical devices on their backs twitched continuously, as if accumulating power.

The gears beside the handles of the bronze swords were also rotating slightly, as if ready to strike at any moment.

This was the first time Su Yang had seen the combat state of the Armored Elite Soldiers.

It had to be said that the sense of security was immense.

Even though there were only two Elite Soldiers, they exuded the majesty of an army.

Swish, swish — — — —

The sound stopped at a certain distance, seemingly waiting for an opportunity.

Su Yang was now certain that they had encountered an ambush.

The only things capable of launching such an organized attack were the native species of the Heart of the Hive—the Tyranid Swarm!

According to official data, the scale of early-stage Tyranid Swarm squads was mostly two to three individuals.

But listening to the sound, the number of this Insect Swarm squad was at least five.

The disparity in numbers was vast!

Su Yang dared not delay and immediately issued an order for the nearest Armored Elite Soldiers to rush over and support.

Now, he could only wait and pray.

While waiting for reinforcements to arrive in time, he prayed that the enemy would not dare to attack rashly.

Shhh — — — — — — — —

A patch of vegetation on the flank was shredded directly.

Three giant Insect Swarm creatures, as tall as a person, charged out at high speed.

They had six sharp legs paired with a pair of long, mantis-like blades.

Their heads were inverted triangles, with three pairs of protruding eyes on top.

Their entire bodies were covered in black and brown markings, and their movement speed was extremely fast!

Tyranid Stinger

Almost in the blink of an eye, the three Insect Swarm creatures were upon Su Yang.

Hiss — — — — — — — —

A blast of high-temperature steam sprayed out.

In front of Su Yang.

The long-waiting Armored Elite Soldiers struck instantly!

High-pressure steam sprayed from the jet vents located on their legs and torsos.

The speed of the Armored Elite Soldiers increased directly by nearly three times!

While charging at high speed, the bronze swords also swung out violently.

At the moment of contact with the enemy's limbs.

High-pressure steam sprayed out again from the sword handles.

Clang — — — —

A silver light flashed by.

The Insect Swarm creatures fell to the ground in response.

Spraying yellow-green blood.
