133: The sudden influx of fans and the strange concert

Inside the concert venue, Liu Ruyan, Gu Xiaoxiao, Gao Xuewei, and Chen Mengyao sat in their chairs.

Their postures were still, like statues frozen in their seats, their eyes seemingly drawn by a magnet, constantly gazing in the direction Lu Chen had left.

They seemed to be waiting for his figure to reappear.

But as time passed, second by second, Lu Chen’s figure still did not appear.

Actually, Lu Chen had only been gone for five minutes.

Yet, the women inexplicably felt it was exceptionally long.

Time seemed to become viscous, every passing second infinitely stretched.

Liu Ruyan’s cloud-like eyebrows furrowed slightly, a hint of confusion in her eyes, and a feeling of unease welled up in her heart.

A woman’s sixth sense told her.

Lu Chen was definitely not just going to the restroom!

She restlessly shifted her body, the aurora-like silk shimmering brilliantly under the lights. She raised her wrist to look at her watch, finally unable to resist muttering softly:

“How long has he been gone? Why isn’t he back yet?”

Gu Xiaoxiao looked dejected, her gaze blankly fixed ahead. Hearing Liu Ruyan’s words, she slowly shook her head.

Her voice was filled with deep confusion and helplessness: “I don’t know... Maybe he doesn’t want to see me...”

With that, she bit her lower lip slightly, her lip turning pale from the bite, and her hands unconsciously rubbed back and forth on her knees.

Gao Xuewei pursed her lips slightly and said gently: “How could that be? Don’t think that way. Perhaps he just got delayed by something. Luckily, the concert hasn’t started yet, let’s wait a bit longer.”

Liu Ruyan leaned back slightly in her seat, her body relaxed, yet imbued with a sense of powerlessness.

She sighed deeply, a long and heavy breath, her eyes carrying a hint of melancholy, and slowly said:

“They all say a woman’s heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea, but I think Lu Chen’s thoughts are even more profound than all of ours combined. It’s truly impossible to fathom what he’s thinking.”

Gu Xiaoxiao remained silent, only biting her lower lip with greater force, nodding slightly, her hair gently swaying with the movement.

After a brief exchange, the atmosphere once again fell into an awkward silence, as if enveloped by an invisible curtain of ice.

The air seemed to solidify, making it difficult to breathe.

In this oppressive atmosphere, Gao Xuewei restlessly shifted her body, her hands repeatedly rubbing the corner of her clothes.

Finally, she made up her mind, forced a smile, quickly scanned the three women, and deliberately raised her voice, trying to break the deadlock:

“How about we talk about how we all met Lu Chen?”

Upon hearing this question, the three women instantly stiffened, a flash of varied but equally complex emotions crossing their faces.

After a brief silence, they looked at each other, their gazes meeting, as if countless unspoken words passed between them.

Gu Xiaoxiao thought for a moment, believing she was probably the first among these women to meet Lu Chen.

So she slightly parted her lips, gathered her courage, and was about to speak.

Just then,

A sudden, uniform, and heavy sound of footsteps came from outside the stadium, like dense drumbeats, heavily striking everyone’s heartstrings.

The four women’s expressions instantly changed slightly, their hearts clenching as if by an invisible hand.

They widened their eyes in terror, their bodies trembling uncontrollably, instinctively looking up.

They saw crowds pouring into the various entrances of the auditorium like a surging tide.

Men and women, old and young, varied in height, build, and age, spanning all stages of life.

Leading the way was an old man with white hair, dressed in a slightly faded but very neat Zhongshan suit. Although his steps were a little unsteady, he tried his best to keep up with the rhythm of the group.

Beside him was a young mother, holding a little girl with pigtails. The little girl was wearing a pink princess dress, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement.

Further back were a group of fashionably dressed young people, some wearing exaggerated sunglasses, some wearing ripped jeans, and some carrying distinctive backpacks.

There were also many young girls in Lolita dresses and JK skirts, carrying support signs and banners, walking in with youthful exuberance.

These people seemed to be controlled by an invisible conductor, their steps uniform, their speed extremely fast yet orderly.

They quickly entered in sequence, according to the front and back rows, and swiftly took their seats.

Row after row, like a precise machine operating efficiently.

The entire process lasted less than five minutes, with an astonishing level of proficiency, as if it were a professional performance that had undergone countless rigorous rehearsals.

Liu Ruyan, Gu Xiaoxiao, and the other women were stunned by this scene, their mouths slightly agape, their pretty faces filled with incredulous shock.

Gu Xiaoxiao stared intently at the girl sitting next to her, her eyebrows tightly furrowed, her eyes full of panic and confusion.

Her lips trembled slightly as she murmured, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzzing: “Didn’t Lu Chen book the entire concert? How did so many fans show up?”

Moreover, these fans looked very strange; they didn’t even say a word, just sat down like that.

It was as if they had all been trained in advance, looking well-drilled.

Chen Mengyao, who was at the edge of the four women, was equally shocked, her gaze fixed on the girl beside her.

Because she knew this girl!

It was Xun Xiaoxiao, her good friend whom she had met at Lu Family Manor, and with whom she had washed many clothes in the laundry room.

She was wearing a simple white dress, the hem just above her knees, perfectly revealing her slender, straight calves, her skin fair as snow, glowing with a soft luster.

Her smooth long hair, like black satin, was casually draped over her shoulders, the ends slightly curled.

Her large, sparkling eyes, like stars twinkling in the night sky, exuded liveliness and playfulness.

Below her delicate nose was a mouth that always wore a sweet smile, and when she smiled, two shallow dimples would faintly appear, making her very cute.

Chen Mengyao stood frozen, her mind blank, and after a long while, she stammered: “Xiaoxiao, you... why are you here for the concert too?”

Xun Xiaoxiao’s lips curved into a mysterious smile, a smile like it was veiled in thin gauze, making it unfathomable.

She raised a slender, jade-like finger to her lips, making a shushing gesture, her voice as soft as a spring breeze: “Don’t make a sound, just enjoy the concert.”

Seeing this, Chen Mengyao, despite the waves of questions in her heart, could only suppress them, swallowing her numerous doubts.

She sat up nervously, her hands constantly twisting together in front of her, her fingers anxiously picking at the hem of her clothes, which she had crumpled up.

In the face of this sudden change, Gao Xuewei nervously hugged Xiao Xi tightly.

She vigilantly observed everything around her.

After a while, once she confirmed there was no obvious danger, she finally relaxed slightly, letting out a long sigh, though her arms around Xiao Xi remained tight.

Among these four women, Liu Ruyan was the most composed.

She frowned slightly, a faint gleam flashing in her eyes.

She stared intently at the chaotic yet orderly scene before her, her mind racing.

Suddenly, a bold and absurd idea flashed through her mind.

Although this idea was preposterous, applied to Lu Chen, it seemed perfectly reasonable.

Thinking this, a look of understanding dawned in her eyes.
