193: Something happened to the Fifth Junior Sister?!

Yu Miaoyin's face flushed crimson, her voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz, tinged with a delicate petulance and panic, as she said, "Can I answer a call first...?"

Lu Chen's expression instantly turned somewhat gloomy, his teeth slightly clenched, his tone full of helplessness and vexation:

"It's the middle of the night. Who's calling you?"

At this moment, he finally deeply understood the helplessness depicted in those TV dramas. The originally ambiguous atmosphere was developing towards a sweet direction, and it was about to get on track.

This sudden call was like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing his enthusiasm. How could it not be infuriating?

Yu Miaoyin's cheeks grew even hotter, like a ripe red apple, glowing with an inviting luster. She timidly replied, "I, I don't know. Let me check."

Saying this, she began fumbling for her phone in her bag.

Her hand frantically searched in the bag, and her body suddenly stiffened, as if she had touched something she shouldn't have.

Her eyes instantly widened, her long, upturned eyelashes trembled slightly, and the blush on her face quickly spread to her earlobes, even her neck tinged with a faint pink.

Her slender waist unconsciously twisted, trying to adjust her posture, but she accidentally made her situation even more awkward.

Yu Miaoyin had a graceful figure, and her delicate body, trembling slightly from tension at this moment, appeared even more fragile and alluring.

Her collarbones were exquisite, and against her slightly reddened skin, they seemed like meticulously carved works of art.

A cascade of long hair fell loosely, with a few strands clinging to her flushed cheeks, adding a touch of pitiful charm.

Her lips pouted slightly, as if displeased by the sudden interruption, and also as if silently pouting at Lu Chen.

Finally, she took out her phone from her bag, glanced at the screen, blinked her watery big eyes, and said, "It's Fifth Sister calling me."

She frowned slightly, her eyes full of confusion. "She's always been obsessed with Alchemy and rarely contacts the outside world. Why is she calling me proactively today, and in the middle of the night at that?"

As soon as Lu Chen heard the words "Fifth Sister," half of his anger immediately dissipated. He sighed helplessly and said, "Answer it."

Yu Miaoyin nodded, her face still flushed, and whispered, "Can I get down first before answering...?"

She was still sitting in Lu Chen's arms at this moment, and answering the phone in such a posture was truly inconvenient.

Lu Chen's lips curved slightly into a mischievous smile. He shook his head and said, "No."

After speaking, he lightly patted her lower back, a gesture that seemed intimate but carried a hint of undeniable dominance.

Yu Miaoyin immediately pouted in dissatisfaction, her small lips sticking out so far they could hang an oil bottle.

Feeling the strength of the large hand on her waist, her delicate body trembled slightly, looking incredibly cute, like a startled fawn.

Lu Chen looked at her, both exasperated and amused, and reminded her, "If you don't answer soon, the call will automatically hang up."

Only then did Yu Miaoyin answer the phone, her voice still trembling slightly with a hint of panic, saying, "Hello, Fifth Sister, what's wrong? Is there something you need so late?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before a very, very small voice came through, soft as a breeze yet incredibly clear, much like the sweet and adorable voice of a loli: "Second Senior Sister, where are you right now?"

Yu Miaoyin frowned slightly upon hearing this voice and asked confusedly, "Why is your voice so quiet?"

The voice on the other end was tinged with nervousness and fear, cautiously saying, "It's not convenient for me to speak loudly here right now."

Yu Miaoyin's curiosity was piqued, and she pressed, "What's wrong? What exactly happened?"

Fifth Sister's tearful voice came from the other end of the phone: "I couldn't reach Eldest Senior Sister, so I could only contact you. Second Senior Sister, can you come and save me? I think something bad has happened to me..."

Upon hearing this, Yu Miaoyin's expression instantly changed; her originally rosy face turned pale, her eyes filled with anxiety, and she quickly asked, "What's wrong? What exactly happened?"

On the other end of the phone, Fifth Sister sobbed, "I was originally coming to find Eldest Senior Sister, but I forgot to bring my ID. But I didn't want to go back, so I took a car that didn't require an ID. But this car seems to be an illegal taxi. They took me to a very remote place, and I feel like they're going to sell me. I'm so scared, Second Senior Sister, please come and save me..."

After hearing this, Yu Miaoyin's expression grew even more tense. Her hand gripped the phone tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force, and she quickly said, "Where are you now? I'll be right there!"

The voice on the other end suddenly paused, as if identifying the surroundings, then continued tearfully:

"I don't know either, Senior Sister. I don't understand what they're saying, but there are mountains all around. It feels like I've come to a deep, old forest, and they've caught many people, all girls. Senior Sister, they're not going to sell us into the deep mountains, are they?"

Her tender voice was already thick with sobs, as if she might break down crying at any moment.

Yu Miaoyin took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and quickly said, "Don't worry, Senior Sister will come to save you right away. First, tell me if your surroundings are safe?"

Fifth Sister's frightened voice came from the phone: "It's not safe. I used the excuse of going to the restroom to find a chance to call you on my backup phone. They're coming to catch me soon..."

Yu Miaoyin then asked, "Can you resist them for a while?"

"They seem to have guns, and there are many of them. I don't dare to act rashly. You know, among us Senior Sisters, my strength is the weakest..." Fifth Sister's voice was filled with despair and helplessness.

Hearing this, Yu Miaoyin's worry amplified to the extreme. She was burning with anxiety and quickly added, "What about the poisons you carry?"

Fifth Sister sighed, her voice full of regret: "I didn't bring them. I was afraid those things wouldn't pass security, so I didn't take any of them."

Yu Miaoyin's brows furrowed tightly. She wanted to say something more to confirm, but then Fifth Sister's anxious voice suddenly came from the other end of the phone:

"Senior Sister, I can't talk to you anymore. They seem to be coming. I can't let them find this phone..."

Then, the call was disconnected.

Yu Miaoyin's hand dropped powerlessly, and the phone slipped from her fingertips, falling onto the sofa.

Her eyes were hollow, full of worry and fear, her body trembling slightly, as she kept muttering, "Fifth Sister, please don't let anything happen to you..."

Lu Chen looked at Yu Miaoyin's distraught appearance, smiled slightly, and gently tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, saying softly, "Why didn't you ask me for help?"

Yu Miaoyin suddenly looked up, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes. She tightly grasped Lu Chen's hand, as if clutching a life-saving straw, and said excitedly:

"Lu Chen, you must help me save my Fifth Sister."

Her eyes welled up with tears, and she looked at Lu Chen pitifully, her gaze full of trust and expectation.

Lu Chen confidently patted Yu Miaoyin's shoulder and comforted her, "Don't worry, leave it to me."

Saying this, he made a phone call and calmly instructed the person on the other end, "Locate this phone number for me."

Yu Miaoyin paced anxiously beside him, constantly looking at Lu Chen, her eyes full of worry and anticipation.

Her hands were tightly clasped together, her fingernails digging into her palms, yet she felt no pain.

After a while, Lu Chen looked up, a confident smile on his face, and said, "Found her. I've already located her position."

Yu Miaoyin's eyes instantly lit up. She excitedly hugged Lu Chen, her voice choked with tears, saying, "Thank you, Lu Chen, you truly are my savior."

Lu Chen gently patted Yu Miaoyin's back and said softly, "We'll leave now. We'll definitely bring Fifth Sister back safely."

The two quickly got up. Lu Chen took Yu Miaoyin's hand and hurried out of the house.

Yu Miaoyin's steps were a bit flustered, but guided by Lu Chen, she tried her best to keep up.

Along the way, Yu Miaoyin kept asking Lu Chen about Fifth Sister's location and the rescue plan, her eyes full of anxiety.

Lu Chen answered patiently, his words revealing his complete confidence in the rescue operation, which gradually reassured Yu Miaoyin.

"Lu Chen, can we really make it in time?" Yu Miaoyin's voice trembled slightly, her eyes filled with worry.

Lu Chen squeezed her hand and said firmly, "Don't worry, we can do it. My car is very fast, and I've already planned the best route. We definitely won't waste any time."

Yu Miaoyin nodded slightly, looking at Lu Chen's confident profile, her gratitude growing stronger.

She felt that with Lu Chen by her side, all difficulties could be resolved.

The two arrived at the car. Lu Chen quickly opened the door, let Yu Miaoyin sit in the passenger seat, then went around to the driver's seat and got in.

He expertly buckled his seatbelt, started the engine, and the car sped off like an arrow from a bow, heading towards Fifth Sister's location... It was late at night. As the car first drove through the city, the streetlights emitted a dim yellow glow, and various neon lights flashed continuously, light and shadow intertwined, reflecting on the car windows.

However, as Lu Chen drove out of the city, the lively lights were gradually left behind, and endless darkness quickly enveloped the vehicle like a tide.

Yu Miaoyin sat in the passenger seat, unconsciously clutching the hem of her clothes, her fingers turning slightly white from the force.

Her eyes were fixed on the phone screen, which was completely black, no longer conveying any messages.

Her lips trembled slightly, occasionally biting her lower lip, as fear and worry spread wildly within her like vines.

Despite Lu Chen's assurance, she couldn't help but worry, and dangerous scenarios that Fifth Sister might encounter constantly flashed through her mind. Cold sweat trickled down her forehead, dampening the hair at her temples.

"Lu Chen, how far is my Junior Sister's location from here?"

Yu Miaoyin couldn't help but ask again. Although she had asked this question more than once, her inner anxiety still compelled her to speak again.

Her voice was tinged with a tremor, her eyes full of helplessness and urgency.

Lu Chen, while concentrating on the steering wheel, gently comforted her, "Don't worry, at our current speed, we'll be there in about an hour at most."

Upon hearing the words "about an hour," Yu Miaoyin's already tense expression darkened a few more shades.

She unconsciously clenched her fists, leaning slightly forward, as if wishing she could instantly fly to Fifth Sister's side.

She also knew that this speed was the fastest Lu Chen could achieve, because the car was already speeding at 180 kilometers per hour, and going any faster would indeed be unrealistic.

"But an hour... won't Junior Sister encounter any danger...?"

She murmured to herself, her mind conjuring Fifth Sister's innocent and somewhat foolish appearance: a round face, always with a naive smile, unable to even argue with people. How could she resist those vicious villains?

Thinking of this, Yu Miaoyin's heart felt as if it were being tightly clutched by an invisible hand, a pang of pain and worry.

Lu Chen noticed Yu Miaoyin's extreme unease and suddenly smiled, trying to alleviate her tension: "Actually, there's an even faster way."

Yu Miaoyin, as if grasping a lifeline, immediately turned to look at Lu Chen, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes, and quickly asked eagerly, "What way?"

However, Lu Chen suddenly hesitated, a complex expression flashing across his face, then he smiled again, saying mysteriously, "You'll know in a moment."

Immediately after, something unexpected happened: Lu Chen suddenly slowed down, and with a gentle turn of the steering wheel, he smoothly parked the car by the side of the road.

Yu Miaoyin immediately looked at Lu Chen with a stunned expression, her eyes wide, full of confusion and bewilderment.

Lu Chen offered no explanation for stopping the car. He simply opened the car door and got out. He bent slightly, looking gently at Yu Miaoyin inside the car, and softly said, "Get out."

Yu Miaoyin looked puzzled, her eyes full of confusion, her brows slightly furrowed, as if trying to ponder Lu Chen's intention.

But she obediently unbuckled her seatbelt, gently pushed open the car door, and stepped out.

As soon as she stood firm, Lu Chen naturally reached out and firmly took Yu Miaoyin's hand.

Yu Miaoyin's cheeks instantly flushed, spreading from her earlobes to her entire face. She instinctively tried to pull away, but was held by Lu Chen's warm and strong hand, feeling both shy and confused.

Then, a scene that shocked Yu Miaoyin to the point of breathlessness occurred. She suddenly felt her feet leave the ground, and her body slowly ascended uncontrollably—she was flying!

She widened her eyes in terror, the endless night sky reflected in them, her mouth forming an "O" shape. She wanted to scream but was choked by shock.

She instinctively gripped Lu Chen's arm tightly, her fingernails almost digging into his sleeve.

Lu Chen steadily carried her soaring through the night sky. The wind whistled past their faces, and Yu Miaoyin's hair flew wildly.

The moonlight cast upon them, outlining their silhouettes, dreamlike and ethereal.

They traveled through the clouds, the white mist swirling around them like light gauze, occasionally gently brushing their cheeks, bringing a touch of coolness... Inside a dilapidated building by a road, dim light struggled to penetrate through the cracks in a few wooden planks, casting fragmented shadows on the dusty floor.

Yan Shuanger huddled in the corner of the room, her hands tightly wrapped around her knees, her body trembling slightly from fear and cold.

Her originally exquisite loli dress was now full of wrinkles and stains, and the hem was torn, revealing her fair and slender calves, which bore several scuff marks, making her appear particularly disheveled.

Her hair was also messy, with a few strands clinging to her tear-stained face, further highlighting her pitiful appearance.

She looked up at the boarded-up window, where only a faint sliver of light penetrated through a tiny crack, allowing her to see the twinkling stars in the dark night sky outside.

Her eyes were red and swollen, filled with helplessness and despair, yet still faintly showing a hint of anticipation.

"Second Senior Sister, you must come and save me."

She murmured to herself, her voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz, tinged with sobs, echoing in the silent and eerie room.

Her rosy lips trembled slightly, and her small nose twitched gently from her sniffles.

As she spoke, she wiped the tears from her face with her dirty little hands, but the tears flowed like broken strings of pearls, unstoppable, making her look utterly pathetic.
