186: Ye Chen's Revenge

At this moment, Lu Chen, who had been busy all night, had returned to the manor.

He shook his hand, looking at his slightly reddened palm, and couldn't help but feel a little emotional.

Luo Qingchen's Physique was truly powerful. It could only be said that martial artists were different. If these slaps had landed on Xun Xiaoxiao, she probably wouldn't have been able to get out of bed for a long time.

Yet, Luo Qingchen, apart from a certain 'something', showed no particular physical abnormalities. She would likely recover almost completely overnight.

Lu Chen parked his car and was about to return to his villa when his heart suddenly stirred. His Divine Sense detected a figure stealthily approaching the Lu Family Manor.

He curled his thin lips into a smile, then his figure vanished into the darkness.

Outside the Lu Family Manor, a figure was stealthily sneaking in.

This person concealed his body, peeking his head out from time to time, his eyes filled with resentment.

"Damn Lu Chen, I can't take it anymore! Although there's less than a month left until the three-year deadline, I'm going to burn down your entire Lu family with a single fire today!" Ye Chen muttered to himself, the anger and killing intent in his eyes almost solidifying.

Ye Chen's experiences during this period had been nothing short of a nightmare.

Ever since Lu Chen appeared, his life had plunged into an endless dark abyss.

His wife, Liu Ruyan, seemed to have been cast under a bizarre spell, completely transforming into a different person.

Recalling the past, Liu Ruyan wasn't exactly kind to him, with scolding and beatings being commonplace.

For the sake of the three-year deadline, he chose to silently endure it again and again.

He had thought that his days would pass in such a mundane yet helpless way for three years, but Lu Chen's appearance shattered this seemingly calm lake, stirring up monstrous waves.

Recently, Liu Ruyan's attitude had become even worse.

At the slightest displeasure, she would instruct Wang Nanny to punch and slap him.

In just a few days, he had already used up over a dozen bottles of safflower oil, yet his face was still inevitably swollen like a steamed bun, a full circle larger.

If this continued, his once proud handsome face might be completely ruined.

What Ye Chen found most unbearable was his discovery that his wife seemed to have fallen for Lu Chen.

Initially, when Liu Ruyan mentioned Lu Chen, she would grit her teeth, wishing she could devour him alive. At that time, Ye Chen, though angry, still harbored a glimmer of hope, thinking his wife was just furious and wouldn't truly harbor any special feelings for Lu Chen.

However, everything changed on that night.

That night, Liu Ruyan stumbled home, first slapping him hard, then crying and throwing things everywhere.

But the next day, Liu Ruyan stopped crying. Instead, she put on very exquisite makeup, wore black stockings, and went out again.

From that moment on, Ye Chen knew that things had completely spiraled out of control.

After that, whenever Lu Chen was mentioned, Liu Ruyan's face would flush with shyness, her expression one of bashful yearning.

Ye Chen felt as if his heart was being pricked by thousands of needles, suffering unbearable pain.

He recalled the bits and pieces of these past days, each scene like a sharp knife cutting into his heart.

The resentment in his heart burned like a raging fire, his hatred for Lu Chen reaching an unprecedented peak.

The thought of the bright green hat on his head made him feel both miserable and angry, filled with unwillingness and humiliation.

Especially tonight, after Liu Ruyan returned from work, she was again depressed, continuously muttering that Lu Chen had another woman by his side, looking jealous and heartbroken.

This completely chilled Ye Chen's heart. He knew all too well that his wife had probably truly fallen in love with Lu Chen, and to an extent where she couldn't extricate herself.

The green hat on his head was completely cemented, impossible to remove.

Ye Chen gritted his teeth, glaring at the brightly lit Lu Family Manor in the distance. His face was twisted with anger, his features almost squeezed together.

His eyes were wide, as if about to spew fire, staring fixedly in the direction of the Lu Family Manor, his gaze wishing to burn the entire manor to ashes.

His teeth ground together, his cheeks bulging from the effort, and the muscles in his face twitched uncontrollably.

His lips trembled slightly, a sign of extreme anger, unable to express the hatred in his heart with words.

His hands were tightly clenched into fists, his fingernails digging deep into his palms, blood seeping from between his fingers, yet he was oblivious.

At this moment, his heart and eyes were filled only with revenge, only with the complete destruction of Lu Chen and the Lu family could the rage in his heart be appeased.

The anger and killing intent, like solidified black mist, enveloped him entirely, sending shivers down one's spine.

He repeatedly thought about how to execute his revenge plan in his mind. The raging inferno of anger burned ever more fiercely in his heart. He was completely consumed by hatred, and his reason had long since vanished without a trace.

Harboring a heart full of hatred and resolve, Ye Chen, with a backpack full of alcohol fuel, hunched over like a malevolent wolf hidden in the darkness, cautiously crept towards the Lu Family Manor.

His eyes gleamed with madness and ferocity, each step taken with extreme caution, fearing that the slightest sound might alert the people in the manor.

Under the night sky, the Lu Family Manor was like a resplendent palace, brightly lit, its brilliant lights illuminating the entire manor as if it were daytime.

The exquisite European-style architecture, bathed in light, exuded luxury and elegance.

The towering spires and intricate carvings all showcased the noble status of its owner.

In the courtyard, the meticulously manicured lawns, colorful flowerbeds, and gurgling fountains, illuminated by the lights, appeared dreamlike.

The villa's main door was made of heavy solid wood, inlaid with exquisite bronze decorations, exuding an ancient yet luxurious aura.

Ye Chen looked at all this, the anger in his heart burning even more fiercely. He gritted his teeth and cursed in a low voice, "Why can Lu Chen enjoy such a life, while I can only live in a place as broken as a dog's kennel, eating food worse than what pigs and dogs get!"

His face flushed red with anger, his hands clenched tightly into fists, his knuckles white from the effort.

After entering the manor, Ye Chen saw the maids still busy and moving around in the night.

Each of them was sweet-faced and graceful.

Their fair complexions glowed softly under the interwoven moonlight and lamplight.

Their lively eyes, like twinkling stars in the night sky, sparkled with captivating charm.

Their figures were petite and exquisite, dressed in matching maid uniforms, black short skirts paired with white aprons, perfectly outlining their slender waists.

As they moved, their skirts swayed gently, revealing fair and long calves, appearing both cute and playful.

Ye Chen looked at these maids, and the flames of jealousy burned fiercely in his heart.

His eyes were wide, staring fixedly at them, the muscles in his face twitching uncontrollably.

He recalled that in these past few years, he hadn't even touched a woman's hand. The only person he had the most contact with was Wang Nanny, Liu Ruyan's fierce housekeeper.

Yet, Lu Chen was surrounded by so many beautiful women, like warbling orioles and swallows. How could he not be jealous, how could he not be angry!

At this moment, his jealousy had reached its peak, and his reason was completely consumed.

He screamed frantically in his heart, "Lu Chen, you must pay the price! I want you to taste what it's like to lose everything!"

His breathing became rapid and heavy, his chest heaving violently, like a wild beast about to devour its prey.

He clutched the lighter in his hand, his eyes flashing with a crazy light, ready to reduce all this beauty to ashes.

Ye Chen secretly arrived outside one of the villas in the manor. His gaze was fixed on that villa, his eyes burning with the flames of revenge.

Although he wasn't sure of Lu Chen's exact residence, he clearly remembered that his wife, Liu Ruyan, had come out of this villa last time, so he was convinced that Lu Chen must live here, no mistake!

He cautiously approached the villa, each step taken with extreme care, his eyes vigilantly observing his surroundings, fearing being discovered.

Upon reaching the villa's outer wall, he began to secretly pour out the fuel, and the pungent smell of alcohol quickly permeated the air.

Just as he, with trembling fingers, brought the lighter closer to the fuel, ready to ignite this fire of revenge, the sky suddenly changed dramatically.

The night sky, which had been clear with a bright moon and sparse stars, was instantly covered by large patches of dark clouds, like a giant black demonic hand, about to swallow the entire world.

Immediately after, a deafening bolt of lightning exploded, the bright flash like a sharp giant sword, instantly tearing apart the dark night sky.

Ye Chen was startled by this sudden change, nearly dropping the lighter in his hand.

He widened his eyes in horror, his mouth slightly agape, his face filled with uncertainty. He instinctively looked up at the sky, his heart full of questions: "What's going on? It was fine just now, why is it suddenly cloudy and about to rain?"

His brows furrowed tightly, and fine beads of sweat seeped from his forehead, mixing with the impending raindrops.

Just as he was full of questions, the lighter in his hand had just been flicked open when walnut-sized raindrops suddenly poured down, landing precisely on the hand holding the lighter.

Ye Chen's eyes widened in astonishment, his expression instantly frozen, as if under a petrification spell.

He slowly and somewhat sluggishly lowered his head, looking at his hand, which was slightly reddened by the raindrops, and the lighter, which was already soaked and unable to ignite. For a moment, his mind went blank.

Before he could react, the torrential rain poured down like a broken dam, instantly drenching him to the bone.

He stood there blankly, letting the rain wash over his body. His soaked clothes clung tightly to him, his hair was disheveled by the rain, and water droplets constantly dripped from his hair, running down his face, which was full of unwillingness and anger.

He looked at the sky, his eyes full of despair and helplessness, a strong sense of frustration welling up in his heart, feeling as if even heaven was against him. Tears involuntarily welled up in his eyes, but were easily concealed by the rain.

However, the fire of hatred in Ye Chen's heart was not extinguished by the heavy rain; instead, it burned even more fiercely.

He gritted his teeth, the muscles on his face twisted with anger, squeezing out a few words from between his teeth:

"Since I can't use fire, I'll take your life with my own hands! Once I cut off your third leg, let's see how you'll bully my wife!"

With that, he steeled himself, pulled out a dagger from his waist, and gripped it tightly. The blade glinted with a cold, chilling light in the dim illumination.

He stared fiercely at the villa, then exerted force, flipped over the wall, and entered the villa.

But the moment he stepped into the villa, he found the entire villa pitch black, completely different from the brightly lit exterior he had seen.

Ye Chen blinked, his eyes filled with confusion. He subconsciously rubbed his eyes, thinking he had seen wrong.

"That's strange. I clearly saw this villa brightly lit just now, so why are the lights off after I came in?" He muttered in a low voice, a hint of tension and unease in his tone.

At this moment, the wind outside howled, like countless evil spirits wailing mournfully.

Large raindrops heavily struck the windows, making a "pitter-patter" sound, as if someone was vigorously knocking.

Ye Chen's heart rate involuntarily quickened, and the hand holding the dagger trembled slightly.

Suddenly, a black shadow flashed past him from behind, moving extremely fast. If not for catching it in the corner of his eye, he wouldn't have noticed it at all.

Ye Chen felt a chill down his spine, and his scalp instantly tingled. He spun around abruptly, instinctively brandishing the dagger in his hand, shouting, "Who? Who's there?"

However, what answered him was only the empty darkness and the howling wind and rain.

Ye Chen's breathing became rapid and heavy. His eyes frantically scanned the darkness, trying to catch sight of the black shadow's trace, but there was nothing around him except endless darkness.

A strong fear welled up in his heart, his scalp tingled, and all the hairs on his body stood on end. He secretly muttered, "What's going on? Could it be a ghost?"

With that thought, he felt a cold draft behind him, and all the blood in his body seemed to freeze.

His legs began to feel slightly weak, and he wanted to turn and flee, but the hatred in his heart made him unwilling to give up just like that.

He bit his lip tightly, drawing blood, his expression constantly shifting between fear and anger.

He gritted his teeth, secretly cheering himself on. Despite his weakening legs and a back drenched in cold sweat, he mustered his courage and continued to grope his way upstairs.

One step, two steps... His footsteps were extremely light, making almost no sound on the stairs.

The dim stairwell was filled with a damp smell, and there seemed to be faint water stains on the walls, appearing particularly eerie in the weak light.

His hand gripped the dagger tightly, knuckles white, his arm trembling slightly—a manifestation of intertwined fear and anger.

With great difficulty, he finally made his way upstairs. A long corridor appeared before his eyes, dim lights casting mottled shadows on the walls, as if something could leap out of the shadows at any moment.

He pressed against the wall, moving slowly forward. With each step, he would stop, vigilantly observing his surroundings, fearing any slight sound or movement.

His eyes were wide, not missing any detail, and his ears were perked up, catching every subtle sound.

Finally, he arrived in front of the large door at the end of the corridor. He raised his hand, his fingers trembling slightly, pausing for a moment on the doorknob.

Ye Chen took a deep breath, trying to calm his wildly beating heart. But the sound of his heartbeat grew even more intense, as if it would burst through his chest.

He slowly pushed the door, creating a small gap.

The instant his gaze passed through the crack in the door and looked inside, his pupils instantly widened, his expression froze, and his eyes were filled with disbelief and shock.

His mouth was slightly open, but no sound escaped, as if something had struck his heart hard. His face, which had been flushed red from tension, now turned pale.
