146: The huge gap between the rich and the poor, a corner of the heavenly palace!

Given Lu Chen's current attitude towards her, let alone becoming the Young Miss of the Lu Family, whether she could even stay in the Lu Family as she wished was an unknown.

A hint of confusion flickered in her eyes as she gazed at the luxurious manor before her, yet there was no joy in her heart.

Zhao Jiaqi noticed Gu Xiaoxiao's low spirits, so she stopped talking and silently followed behind Gu Xiaoxiao.

The two arrived at the main gate of Lu Family Manor.

Gu Xiaoxiao took a deep breath, walked to the guard station, looked at the Security Captain, Wang Qiang, and said softly, "Hello, I'd like to see General Lu."

Wang Qiang smiled and said, "Alright, I'll go inform him."

He knew Gu Xiaoxiao; he often saw her when he was the Security Captain at Dihao Group, and naturally knew the relationship between her and General Lu.

Gu Xiaoxiao nodded, waiting quietly.

After a while, Wang Qiang walked out, looking troubled, and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Gu, the butler said General Lu is busy, and he didn't dare to disturb him."

A hint of disappointment flashed in Gu Xiaoxiao's eyes; she blinked lightly, trying to hide her dejection.

Wang Qiang then said, "How about you come back tomorrow?"

Gu Xiaoxiao was silent for a moment, then nodded and said, "Alright."

She turned to leave.

Just then, the phone in the guard booth rang.

Wang Qiang quickly answered the phone, then delightedly said to Miss Gu, "Miss Gu, the butler said you can come in!"

Gu Xiaoxiao's steps suddenly halted; her eyes instantly lit up, and a look of pleasant surprise flashed within them.

The corners of her mouth curved slightly upward, revealing a brilliant smile, as if a ray of dawn had suddenly appeared in the darkness.

Gu Xiaoxiao's heart began to race, excitement and nervousness intertwined, causing her cheeks to flush slightly.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, then walked into the manor with light steps.

Zhao Jiaqi quickly followed close behind her.

This was a rare opportunity to visit Lu Family Manor, and she didn't want to miss it.

Entering the manor, the first thing that came into view was a vast lawn, its grass neatly trimmed, like a green velvet carpet.

In the center of the lawn was a huge fountain, water falling from a height, splashing up layers of spray, which, under the illumination of the lights, looked like countless crystal-clear pearls.

Around the fountain, various exotic flowers and plants were arranged, competing in beauty, emitting wafts of fragrance, silently telling of the manor's wealth and luxury.

Walking further along the lawn, there were grand villas one after another.

The architectural style of each villa was very unique, incorporating both European and Chinese elements, appearing both elegant and grand.

The exterior walls were built of white marble, radiating a soft glow under the light.

The roofs were covered with red glazed tiles, which stood out particularly in the night.

The windows were large and bright, and through them, one could see the resplendent decorations inside.

The moment she stepped into Lu Family Manor, Zhao Jiaqi felt as if she had been pulled by an invisible force into a whole new world.

This was a world of luxury completely different from her past life.

Her eyes were wide open like brass bells, filled with undisguised shock.

Everywhere her gaze fell was a breathtaking sight; every detail spoke of immense wealth and the ultimate in living.

The flagstone path beneath her feet was smooth and even, clearly laid with superior stone, each slab meticulously fitted, as if they were originally one piece.

On both sides of the path stood exquisitely trimmed green plants, varied in shape and lifelike, like works of art from a Great Master.

Further in the distance, there was even a wide artificial lake!

Zhao Jiaqi could hardly imagine that someone's home would have a lake inside!

The lake water shimmered under the moonlight, and a delicate pavilion in the center of the lake was faintly visible, like a celestial palace in a fairyland.

Zhao Jiaqi couldn't help but recall the cramped and narrow house she lived in, which was a world apart from the manor before her.

The dim lights and dilapidated walls contrasted sharply with the brilliant lights and luxurious decorations here.

She murmured to herself, "This isn't a human dwelling at all; it's clearly a heavenly palace!"

Her voice was full of awe and emotion, her hands unconsciously trembling slightly, as if she was overwhelmed by the scene before her.

Gu Xiaoxiao, on the other hand, had been here several times and was no longer surprised by the luxury.

This was actually nothing; this was merely a corner of the heavenly palace.

Her expression was calm, and she walked with firm steps directly towards the villa where Lu Chen was.

Seeing this, Zhao Jiaqi quickly trotted after her, her eyes still constantly scanning around, not missing any novel corner.

Inside the manor, busy maids constantly moved about.

These maids wore matching uniforms, simple yet elegant in style, with soft and smooth fabric that clearly spoke of their value.

Their steps were light, their movements skilled, and each of their faces carried a perfectly appropriate smile, every gesture revealing their excellent training.

Some maids carried exquisite silver trays, upon which rested sparkling crystal glasses and fragrant beverages.

Others were meticulously wiping various ornaments in the manor, their focused expressions as if they were handling rare treasures.

Their presence not only added a unique vibrancy to the manor but also highlighted the exquisite and refined lifestyle here.

Zhao Jiaqi watched the coming and going maids, marveling aloud, and leaned closer to Gu Xiaoxiao, whispering,

"This Lu Chen really knows how to enjoy himself; there are so many maids in the manor."

Hearing this, a hint of complexity and dimness appeared in Gu Xiaoxiao's eyes; she lowered her head slightly, did not respond, and only quickened her pace.

Soon, they were getting closer and closer to the villa.

Gu Xiaoxiao looked up, her gaze instantly drawn to a figure in front of the villa window.
