112: Chapter 112 The Necromancer!
The falcon transformed from Ling Ying was like a streak of black lightning, instantly vanishing into the churning dark green mist outside the window.
Inside the cabin, Lu Yin, Milian, and Su Xiaoruan stared intently in the direction she had disappeared, their expressions slightly solemn.
“Everyone, please do not panic. This is just a normal wild monster attack.”
“Our crew is equipped with four second turn Level 6 combat personnel. We can easily handle this kind of crisis.”
“Please return to your seats and do not move around unnecessarily.”
The captain's steady voice came through the broadcast, soothing the panicked passengers.
Hearing this voice, the passengers felt slightly reassured.
Although there were combat Professionals among them, their levels were not particularly high.
“Four second turn Level 6s...” Milian repeated in a low voice, her brow furrowing slightly.
“If it were just an ordinary wild monster attack, this configuration would indeed be enough to handle it.”
“But this mist outside... it carries an ominous aura of decay. It doesn't seem like a natural product.”
“It really is a bit strange.” Lu Yin's eyes also flickered slightly.
In this sudden thick fog, he sensed a familiar aura, somewhat similar to the undead of the Underworld.
Just then, a sharp eagle cry came from outside the window, followed by the boom of energy collisions and the Cloud Roc's even more pained wail!
“Ling Ying is in trouble!”
Su Xiaoruan exclaimed.
A dark shadow shot back rapidly from the mist; it was the falcon that Ling Ying had transformed into.
The edges of her feathers were actually stained with a hint of grayish-green, and her form was somewhat unsteady.
She quickly passed through the cabin's protective light shield, landed on the floor, and reverted to her human form, her face slightly pale.
A hole had been corroded into the sleeve of her left arm, and her skin showed an unhealthy grayish-white color.
“How is the situation outside?” Milian immediately stepped forward, a soft healing glow rising from her hands.
She pressed her hand onto Ling Ying's arm, dispelling the eroding energy.
Ling Ying took a deep breath and said quickly, “It's not wild monsters! It's a man-made attack!”
“I saw a man wearing pitch-black mage robes and holding a skeletal staff hidden deep within the clouds.”
“This thick mist was created by him.”
Ling Ying spoke at a very fast pace.
“He summoned a large number of Gargoyles and Putrid Corpse Vultures to besiege the Cloud Roc. The crew's combat personnel are already pinned down!”
As if to confirm her words, even more dense sounds of explosions and roars came from outside the cabin.
The pale blue protective light shield also fluctuated violently, flickering unsteadily.
“His goal is clear—he wants to shoot down the Cloud Roc!”
Ling Ying added, her expression grim, “The Cloud Roc's left wing is badly injured. If this continues...”
Before she could finish, the Cloud Roc lurched and jolted violently again, and screams immediately erupted throughout the cabin.
“What's going on? Weren't there four second turn Professionals sent to clear the monsters? Why are we still being attacked?”
A passenger asked with a trembling voice, clutching the seat in terror.
“We can't just sit here and wait for death.” Lu Yin's eyes sharpened as he looked at Milian.
“Let's go to the cockpit to find out more about the situation.”
“Alright.” Milian nodded, then she said to Su Xiaoruan,
“Xiaoruan, you don't have the ability to fly. Take good care of Ling Ying. We'll be back soon.”
“Mm, I'll take good care of Sister Ying,” Su Xiaoruan replied.
“Let's go!”
Lu Yin and Milian exchanged a look and, without further hesitation, the two of them moved quickly toward the cockpit at the front of the cabin.
Soon, the two of them arrived at the cockpit door.
The heavy metal door was tightly closed, and there was a communicator next to it.
Milian pressed the communicator directly.
A moment later, the communicator connected, and the captain's suppressed, anxious voice came through.
“Who is it? This is an emergency. Passengers, please return to your seats!”
“Captain, we are students from the Holy Hall Academy.”
“The situation outside is likely not as simple as a common wild monster attack.”
“We need to know the exact details. Perhaps we can offer some help.”
Milian spoke very quickly, yet her voice was clear and powerful.
“Ho— Holy Hall Academy...”
“Alright, come in.”
The other end of the communicator fell silent for a moment before responding.
The metal door unlocked with a 'click,' and Lu Yin and Milian immediately pushed the door open and entered.
The cockpit was not large. Both the captain and the first officer were nervously operating the rune-covered crystal panels in front of them, their faces drenched in sweat.
Outside the observation window ahead, it was no longer a clear night sky.
Instead, it was churning grayish-green thick fog, and the massive wings of the Cloud Roc could be vaguely seen flapping in pain.
The ominous green attached to it was like a maggot on a bone.
Further away, the flicker of spell light could be seen, along with various hideous and terrifying figures appearing and disappearing.
“The situation is very bad!”
The captain was a resolute-looking middle-aged man. He spoke quickly without turning his head.
“The one attacking us isn't a wild monster, but a Dark-type Summoner of at least Level 6 or higher.”
“The undead creatures he controls are very strong, and there are quite a lot of them.”
“Our four guards are pinned down by a large number of Gargoyles and a bone Dragon; they can't get close to the caster at all!”
“Furthermore, we can't be sure yet if the opponent has other attackers.”
The first officer added, “The Cloud Roc's left wing is being eroded by corrosive energy. Its flight capability has dropped by more than thirty percent.”
“The energy of the Protective Formation is also being consumed rapidly. It can hold out for ten minutes at most!”
“If the Cloud Roc continues to take damage, we will all fall from ten thousand meters in the air!”
At ten thousand meters, even for high-level Professionals,
falling without flight capabilities or special buffering means would result in a near-certain death.
Lu Yin's sharp gaze swept across the battle outside the observation window and, as expected, he saw four figures wearing crew uniforms.
They were fighting against a tide of Gargoyles and a massive skeletal Dragon.
Although they coordinated well and their overall strength was not weak,
they still found it difficult to break through the onslaught of the massive swarm of monsters.
And deep within the churning mist, a vague figure floated, holding a skeletal staff, surrounded by a dense aura of death.
“Interesting, a Necromancer.”
Lu Yin narrowed his eyes.
A Necromancer's abilities were quite similar to his own class, both primarily focusing on controlling the dead to fight.
However, looking at the strength of the undead the opponent summoned, they weren't as insane as his Death Legion.
The opponent's only advantage was likely having a large number of flying summons.
“We can't wait any longer.”
Lu Yin said in a deep voice, turning to Milian, “I'm going out to meet him. You provide support for me.”
“Alright.”
Milian nodded, and then her entire body erupted with a burst of brilliant golden light.
Within the light, her long golden hair fluttered, and a sacred energy permeated the air.
A pair of pure white wings extended from her smooth back, scattering a dense power of radiance.
The casual clothes she was originally wearing also transformed within the light,
becoming a suit of armor that hugged her body's lines and highlighted her vigorous physique.
In the palm of one hand, a Knight's Spear condensed entirely from radiance appeared.
On the forearm of her other hand, the light transformed into a Shield of Light.
Just as Milian completed her divine transformation and became a Battle Angel, Lu Yin's body was also enveloped in a dense aura of death.
The two of them went to the emergency hatch and opened it.
Lu Yin beckoned with his hand, and a massive figure appeared within a magic circle; it was the Undead Bone Dragon, Dragon.
