116: Chapter 116 Repelling the Enemy!

The moment the Necromancer's sinister laughter fell, the Putrid Corpse Vultures besieging Lu Yin suddenly swelled violently, their surfaces covered in dense, dark red runes.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A continuous series of explosions bloomed violently, centered on Lu Yin.

The foul-smelling green flames and the impact of necromantic energy instantly swallowed Dragon's massive skeletal figure.

"Lu Yin!"

In the distance, Milian, who was struggling against the Red-Robed Mage, cried out in alarm, wanting to pull away to rescue him.

However, the Red-Robed Mage continuously unleashed powerful magic, leaving Milian barely able to protect herself.

The Necromancer coughed up blood to steady himself, pale skin showing beneath his tattered robes.

He stared at the center of the still-exploding green flames and said in a raspy voice,

"Today is truly humiliating, to actually be wounded by a Professional who just completed their first turn."

"But this is as far as you go. My spell has been amplified with tenfold damage; even an Awakening-level powerhouse wouldn't be able to withstand it."

However, in the very next second, his words came to an abrupt halt.

Within the green flames, a dark shadow suddenly burst through the thick smoke of the explosions.

That figure was none other than Lu Yin.

Rushing out of the smoke, Lu Yin struck his palm toward the void. A magic circle wove itself out of thin air, and Dragon's massive figure reappeared.

"No, that's impossible! How could you be completely unharmed?!"

Seeing Lu Yin without a single scratch, the Necromancer's voice carried panic for the first time.

Lu Yin simply smiled. At the critical moment, he had recalled all the Death Soldier into the Death Space.

As for himself, he used the skill attached to the dream god earring to transform into a Body of Reality.

The Ethereal Body is immune to physical damage, while the Body of Reality is completely immune to magic.

"How could you be completely unharmed?!" the Necromancer hissed and roared, his eyes filled with fear and disbelief.

Lu Yin stood atop Dragon's bone wings, his robes flapping in the aftershocks of the explosions.

He gazed calmly at his opponent, a cold sneer curling his lips.

"It's just equipment that grants immunity to magic damage. Are you that surprised?"

Before his voice could fade, Lu Yin waved his hand, and the Death Space opened once again.

Hundreds of Death Soldier poured out like a tide, instantly tearing the remaining Gargoyles and Putrid Corpse Vultures to shreds.

Without the constraints of the Slowness Domain, the combat power of the Death Legion exploded completely.

Every Soldier of Death was like a killing machine, dancing with a barrage of skills as the Necromancer's summons dissipated into points of light one after another.

"Damn brat!"

The Necromancer gritted his teeth and raised his staff again, wanting to cast another crowd-control spell.

But Lu Yin wouldn't give him a second chance.

"Dragon!"

"Annihilation Beam!"

At Lu Yin's command, Dragon's massive head reared up, and a dark energy ball condensed in its maw.

The next second, a beam imbued with the aura of death erupted, shooting straight at the Necromancer.

"Skeletal Guardian!"

The Necromancer slammed his staff onto the ground as countless pale bones extended frantically from behind him.

They wove and tangled together like living things, instantly forming a massive bone shield in front of him.

The Annihilation Beam slammed hard into the bone shield. The dark energy and pale bones collided violently, producing a tooth-grinding tearing sound.

The bone shield vibrated violently under the impact of the Annihilation Beam, spiderweb-like cracks appearing on its surface, yet it stubbornly refused to shatter immediately.

"Death Soul Slash!"

Lu Yin's eyes turned sharp as he leaped down from Dragon's back, his longsword carving a fierce arc through the air.

Seeing Lu Yin attacking again, the Necromancer was scared out of his wits.

He had just taken a sword strike from Lu Yin earlier, which had instantly cleared more than half of his health.

If this strike landed, he would lose a layer of skin even if he didn't die.

The Necromancer retreated rapidly, trying to dodge Lu Yin's slash.

"Death Coil!"

However, Lu Yin was well-prepared. As the initial strike missed, the pitch-black death energy at the sword's tip coiled out like a venomous snake.

The Necromancer's pupils shrank, but just as the death energy was about to entwine his body,

He suddenly grinned and shouted toward the void.

"Black Box, retreat!"

As his shout fell, the void behind him suddenly distorted, and a massive Black Box emerged.

"Kid, tonight was very interesting. My name is Si Ming, I'll remember you."

Bang!

The next second, the Black Box closed, and the void warped abruptly.

That eerie Black Box was dragged into another dimension as if by an invisible hand, vanishing without a trace in the blink of an eye.

At the same time, similar Black Boxes appeared behind the assassin and the Red-Robed Mage.

"I'm leaving now, little angel."

The Red-Robed Mage entered the Black Box and gave Milian a debonair wave.

The assassin said nothing, disappearing along with the Black Box.

Lu Yin's Death Coil missed, causing him to furrow his brows tightly.

Recalling the suddenly appearing Black Box, he knew the enemies weren't just three, but four.

The moment the Black Box disappeared, the entire battlefield fell into an eerie silence.

Residual magical energy drifted in the air, flickering like fireflies.

The torn summons turned into specks of light, gradually dissipating into the night wind.

"Are you all right?"

Milian came to Lu Yin's side then, her gaze scanning him back and forth, seemingly wanting to confirm if he was truly unharmed.

Lu Yin sheathed his longsword and shook his head slightly: "I'm fine, let's head back first."

Just as Lu Yin and Milian were preparing to return to the airliner, the roar of propellers came from the distance.

Several military helicopters pierced the night sky, their searchlights illuminating the battlefield as bright as day.

Fully armed soldiers in the vicinity, riding flying mounts, quickly surrounded the scene.

"Reporting to Command Center: the attackers have all retreated. A large amount of necromantic magic residue has been found at the scene."

An officer reported through his headset while approaching Lu Yin and Milian.

"Are you two all right?"

"I am the captain of the Western Theater Special Operations Team, Peak."

"Are you two the students from Holy Hall Academy?"

The operations captain who called himself Peak looked at the Undead Bone Dragon beneath Lu Yin's feet with slight surprise.

Lu Yin nodded slightly and then gave Milian a look.

Milian understood, stepped forward, and said with a grave expression,

"Captain Xu, we are fine, but the attackers this time are very likely from the Heretic Brigade."

"Heretic Brigade..." Peak repeated the name in a low voice, his brows locked tight.

"Daring to strike in Celestial Empire airspace, it certainly fits the style of those lunatics."

"Can you describe the process of the attack you experienced?"

"Yes," Milian nodded.

Subsequently, the attacked Cloud Roc landed safely in the clearing, and Milian gave Peak a detailed account of the encounter.

Lu Yin, meanwhile, found a secluded corner and dialed Xiao Wanguo's number.

As a high-ranking military official, he would surely know more about the Heretic Brigade.

"Cough, cough... Hello, Lu Yin."

The call connected, and Xiao Wanguo's slightly weak voice came from the other side.
